This particular performer caught my eye...at 13 years of age, she was quite a physical presence in the studio despite her very humble demeanor. When I spotted this juvenile yellow caped night heron I felt I had a good chance of getting very close so I got on my belly and slowly crawled up to it. I started taking head shots and then decided to see what I could do with my TC on so I rolled onto my back, pulled TC from my pocket and added it between my 80-400 VR and D200 body. This picture was taken August 21, 2013 in Macon, GA. I had tried to take pictures the night before, because it was a Blue Moon, but the sky was only clear for a few minutes before we had thunderstorms that lasted the rest of the night. The next night was clear, so I headed out with my camera. A movement caught my eye,and I saw the spider building the web in the tree in front of me.
