I was looking for a seasonal image to make when I was on my way to White Sands National Monument in New Mexico when I came across this snowman in a store. Every month I receive Runner's World magazine, and the first page I flip to is that month's "Rave Run" where they feature a beautiful place to run. The most recent month featured the Channel Islands National Park, about 20 miles off shore of Ventura, California. It has always been my dream to do a "Rave Run," so my boyfriend decided to plan a day trip to the island so I could cross that goal off my list. The beautiful February day provided a beautiful backdrop for our very own "rave run." We went for our run and he went a few steps ahead to capture the happiness that I felt as I lived out a dream. The picture is special to me as it was taken in my spiritual home the Masai-Mara, Kenya. It is a female cheetah using a termite hill to gain advantage to see over the plains. This cheetah also jumped onto the bonnet of our land rover giving us an incredibly close encounter. I placed it in 'Nature' as the picture features wildlife within its own environment.
