Pale Male is a city dwelling Red Tailed Hawk. He is seen here with one of his chicks watching as his mate, Lola, returns to the Park Avenue nest he has occupied since 1991. This little girl was returning home after a visit to a local mission in Uganda, Africa. Her parents wanted to give her to the church to care for, because they didn't have the resources to do so. Mike lives in the streets of downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I met him while volunteering at a local community mealsite where I am a volunteer. Mike is a talented charcoal artist and we connectted as two folks who love art. He has captured my likeness in charcoal and with his permission, I have captured his likeness on film.
