This is very special to me because it was taken on our last visit to Pensacola Beach, FL before we moved from there in Feb 2010. Now I hear that the beach is getting oil from the Gulf disaster and that it may get worse. This photograph was taken in northern Tanzania while I was studying abroad during my junior year of college. For two weeks, each student from our group lived with a Maasai family in the plains just south of Arusha, Tanzania. Our group was present during a day-long wedding ceremony that brought together Maasai families from all over the region. I just received my new camera as a Mother's Day gift, and this was one of the first photos I took. It was taken without a tripod...guess I must have been 'super steady' that day.
The dandelions had not been rained on yet and were quite full--and the morning dew had them looking like diamonds in a jewelry shop window.
