After a day of hiking on the mountain we were treated to a spectacular display of lightning. And a challange for me to get a decent photo of the cloud. It was taken from top of Mt. Nebo in north west Arkansas. The storm was close to Lake Dardanelle. Equipment: Kodachrome 64 slide film. Minolta 201, 50mm lens, rubberband, button and a small stick. This is the closest representation of what I actually saw! This is a color photograph, but the January fog zapped most of the color from what the eye sees. Taken in January, 2009, Barksdale AFB, Shreveport, LA. For me, this is nature at it's most mysterious and beautiful state.
