I shot this photo during my trip in Palma. 

Documentary photography is a lifestyle for me. I love documenting the passage of human realities and records of life, through a lens—which is what I did with this photograph which is just a single photograph of an entire body of work I did. This particular moment captures the moment a street boy who has mastered the game of chess and was about to capture a piece from his opponent. 

Hello! my name is Matt ! I’m a digital & film photographer based in the Southern California region! I mostly shoot film nowadays cause I love and enjoy the process of shooting film. Recently I got invited to go to Huntington Beach with my cousin to go for a nice stroll around the area with her dog, chief! Filled with excitement, I grabbed my Nikon F3 and a roll of Kodak Gold 200 and we headed for the beach! When we made it there, my cousin and her dog filled with joy started to run on along the beach! With my camera ready, I was able to capture these candid moments of them running and being free enjoying a nice sunny day. Oh man everything about that day was great, the weather, the breeze, it was bliss and I was glad to capture a dog owner and her furry friend on film to relive those priceless memories forever !

I finally got our rattan chair out and something tells me I won't be using much this summer 😏

I became a mom and everything changed. I waited for things to return to normal, but nothing was the same. And then one day I looked in the mirror and realized, I had changed. My priorities, my hopes, my worries, my interests, my boundaries. My world was all new and it has never been more beautiful.

It was during a photo shoot but this was behind the scenes and a friend had asked for a mirror; so after she was done before I put it back I took my hair down to feel the breeze and see how my hair would look down, our awesome  photographer (@gxpreso) Preston popped out from the side and said “heyyyyyy” lol  and here we are ☺️😁 it was random and a fun moment because everyone started laughing, just to be the best version of you! To be happy and have a genuine smile caught on camera is an awesome thing! There is only one Me …there is only one YOU! And my smile and happiness is mine! Joy of the Lord, thanks for letting me share! 🥹🥰😘

Out near Rainier, we made our way through heavy forestry to Summit Lake to set up camp for the night. I stopped and captured this image as we were ascending through the morning light. Shot on Portra 400 through my Pentax 6x7.

I was photographing a family in studio session for this precious one year olds birthday. The baby had all her family around and there was so much love in the room. I am able to truly hold time in my hands while behind the camera and this moment is what I do it for.

My daughter dances competitively and had just arrived home from team photos with her dance team. I loved the juxtaposition of her sweatpants and t-shirt with her makeup and hair still ready for dance. I asked her to give me a dance pose and this is what she gave me!

Ice cream season has started.

After a long mild winter, first summer days are here. I wanted a portrait of my four together, normally not easy as it is hard to keep them still. But, give them an ice cream and some popsicles and that will do the job.

I was walking in the streets of Paris when I crossed paths with a young mixed couple, i immediately saw that they were very beautiful together and i asked them to pose in front of my Mamiya RZ67. I chose to shoot with Portra 400 for its professional standard and I am very satisfied with the result !

It’s early morning at Lake Pukaki in New Zealand’s South Island. I take a break in my van to appreciate what’s in front of me. The bluest water, the mountains in the horizon, and the birds chirping in my ears. Probably the purest scene I’ve ever experienced.

I could not have planned this any better. Sometimes Mother Nature has other ideas and you go with it.. and end up with a moment like this.

Being intentional about EVERYTHING because I deserve it. I deserve this happiness, this peace, and this overflow.

I finally found the courage to say Yes.

My son wanted matching mohawk haircuts for summer and begged me for about a month.

"I'm too old for a mohawk," was my initial response.

Talk about a self-limiting belief!!

My #KineticMan partner Casey called me out, so I finally pulled the trigger.

This photo was taken of my partner Justine on our first trip to Yosemite National Park. She often loves to climb trees, and you can see by her smile how happy she is doing it.
We shoot mostly film together, and we always enjoy how it places us in a moment that we get to enjoy silently, lovingly, and with each other. There’s no better moment than the one right now.

Cloudy day on the beach 

During my journey through Tobermory, Ontario, Canada, as the sun dipped towards the horizon, the tranquil waters shimmered and rippled. A couple frolicked by the shore, playfully splashing in the water while basking in the beauty of the setting sun. The sun's rays painted their silhouettes against the sky, and I captured the moment with my camera.

I just dropped my heart off in First Grade. Praying she soars and thrives this year while sharing her joy everywhere she goes!

This was my second self-organized photo shoot, and I feel fortunate that my friend volunteered to be my model. As a photographer, I am continuously learning and evolving, and occasionally, I reflect on past experiences, imagining how I could have approached things differently. Nevertheless, I must admit that this particular photo remains to be one of my favourites.

He used to be afraid of fountains, but this day  he went inside without hesitation.

I felt his growth.

🐱 Best friends. A candid capture of the everyday life

I was heavily inspired by the colors and theme of Malibu Barbie. I had a vision of my four year old daughter in her pink swimsuit, a disco ball and sunnies by the pool. My very own Barbie girl. I grabbed these three items and went to work in Adobe Photoshop to bring my vision to life. A little bit of real life, some fantasy and a whole Summer vibe.
