Sweetness
Sweetness
This is one of my favorite pictures, because I love close-ups, and I think this one turned out well :-) It was taken on a very cloudy day, and I think it added softness to the picture.

Road Rage
Road Rage
As my husband was driving through African Ilon Safari in Canada, he looked in his side mirror and this ostrich was chasing us. He was clearly angry about something. He must have thought we cut him off :)

Three Generations
Three Generations
The day before we set up a medical clinic in this building, we came to scout out the facilities: two concrete rooms. But the light in the rooms was magical! Just outside the door to the right, there was total bedlam - a noisy festival, music, dancing, people vying to get into the room where I sat - but inside I caught this serene moment: three generations of Wolof women in Mbaakhe, Senegal, West Africa.
The picture was taken with a KODAK DC 4800.

Sensual Geometries
A modeled architecture -- molded in the superlative way to recall the curves of the female figure. I took the picture last August at the British Museum.

First Snow
First Snow
This is my Cairn Terrier, Baxter -- and his first snow season in Ohio. I used the "action setting" (which should be named - "puppy setting" :)) on my KODAK DX6490 to capture this shot. I just got the camera in December and I LOVE IT. This photograph was taken in our yard a few days after I got it - not much of a learning curve with this great camera.

I took this photograph at 5:30am on June 3,2003. It was from my dock -- and it is Moose Pond in Bridgton, Maine. This is my favorite spot in the whole world.

"Brrrunch"
"Brrrunch"
One snowy morning last November, I looked out the window to see a squirrel eating crab apples from our tree. His tail bushed up behind him was all that protected him from the windy cold.

Haitian Street Scene
Haitian Street Scene
This picture was taken on the streets of Port-au-Prince, Haiti in November 2003. It is special to me because it shows the sadness and hardship of life as a street kid -- you can see it in this boy's eyes. I couldn't decide which category to put it in, so I eventually decided on people as opposed to travel because this is really a photograph that could be taken anywhere in the world, sadly enough.

Fleurs dans Montmartre
Fleurs dans Montmartre
I took this snapshot with my Kodak digital camera as I was stolling the streets of Montmartre in Paris. It seemed that everywhere I looked there was an opportunity to take great pictures. Don't these roses smell nice?

Bring on the Rain!
Bring on the Rain!
My grandson, Mitchell spotted this umbrella in our garage about two weeks ago. He wants to know how everything works so, even though it was a sunny day, I let him play with it in our driveway. I happened to have black and white film in my camera and was fortunate enough to capture his fun. The picture is special to me because not only does it have an artistic feel, it is of one of my favorite subjects!

Wingin Growth In Life
Wingin Growth In Life
This picture is one the many trees in my yard, which happens to be a walnut. This is a pure "nature" shot, showing the curve of the trees natural growth, and how we grow in life as well.

Mother Goose
Mother Goose
I admire this goose from a distance, and I call her "mother goose" because that is what she reminds me of. I was lucky enough to be in the park with my camera when she decided to come up on shore and nose thru my camera bag for some food -- so I got some nice close pictures of her, and was amazed at her beautiful face close up.

These girls live in the same neighborhood that I do in Baghdad. They love to get their picture taken, and they speak some English. Often times they are joined by other kids on bikes, and they all ride around and race each other -- just kids being kids.

Arizonia Mountains
I took this picture using black and white film for the first time. I am from Michigan and this picture was taken on my first trip to Scottsdale, Arizonia at a golf course. The scenery is so beautiful, and it amazed me that a golf course sat in the middle of a desert.

Chameleon, Namibia
Chameleon, Namibia
When researching my trip to Africa, I remember seing a black and white photo of a chameleon crossing the road in a Lonely Planet book. The entire trip I wanted to find and photograph something like that. Towards the end of my trip I almost ran over this guy crossing the road. I was lucky enough to snap this photograph near the Skeleton Coast in Namibia in 2003.
