The Prince-of-Wales Lodge, in Waterton-Glacier Park, Canada, is picture-perfect!!

An elderly lady heads home from the market. This image was taken in Dyedovsk, Russia, outside of Moscow. The vivid colors and interesting lines highlight the poinancy of the moment. This picture was taken from 50 feet away using all automatic controls on the digital camera. I took this picture on May 14 while on a missions trip to Russia and Ukraine.

This picture is special to me because I spend many weekends at this place. I selected the theme "Nature" -- because this is a place where we can feel nature, and the history of fishermen who no longer exist.

Joey Scouts in Victoria, celebrated their 10 year birthday in 2001 -- and this picture was taken during the birthday celebrations in one of the local halls. Scouting means having "friendship and fun." These two are actually showing both friendship, and their smiles showing great enjoyment!

Having spent the better part of a day at an Agriculture Fair in my state, and unsuccessfully shooting the baby chicks there -- I asked my neighbor (who own a farm) if she had any. She replied that she did not...BUT she had ducklings! I feel very fortunate to have captured this duckling in such a peaceful state.

This is a partial view from the top of Putney Mountain in Vermont. When I am there, I am reminded how beautiful life is, as long as we take the time to look at it.

These are wonderful cut flowers that someone bought us called Crazy Daisies. Wild and wonderful -- we sure did enjoy them!

I took this picture in Bombay, India. I used Kodak Max film, and then manipulated the picture in Photoshop.

I love this picture I took at a local farm in Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada. It was early fall and this cow came right up to me with a funny look on it's face... My girlfriend began feeding it grass as I started to take it's picture. I wanted to go for an abstract look so I decided to only get half of it's head in the frame leaving the other half for the fence post and the farm where it lives. This is special to me because my grandparents have a cottage down the road from this farm, and I always looked at these cows on the way there. This was a picture to remind me of those nice drives to the cottage past the "Moo Cows" as I used to call them.

This picture reflects a part of midwestern U.S. summertime; T-ball. A young T-ball player has made it to first base and watches with her base coach for the next hit.

This picture was taken at the St. Lawrence Seaway Lock at Ste-Catherine, QC. I used a Minolta STsi handheld and Kodak Ektachrome 200 film. The camera settings were F11 @ 1/180s, with a Sigma zoom 70-210 UCII at about 200mm. I always have a camera with me, either numeric or film. That day when I was crossing a bridge across the seaway, I saw the ship waiting its turn and couldn't resist taking a picture.

This photo was taken June 7, 2003 in a field on the edge of Calgary. Alberta is a beautiful place at dawn. This new camera takes exceptional photos!

I was shooting Pelicans, but could not resist snapping a picture of this low flying Gull.

This photo was taken the last morning I was in Lake Worth, Florida. I'd gone there for a memorial for my Grandmother who passed away the day before Mother's Day. The weather had been ugly for a week before we arrived, yet when we were there, it was gorgeous...as though she was smiling on us as we said our goodbyes. I love the light and color of this shot. The beauty of the rays below the clouds and into the ocean speak to me as an artist.

While shooting some macro shots of flowers in our backyard, this little baby worker bee stumbled into my frame, and allowed me a few minutes to shoot ten or so shots without moving a wing. I'd never seen a bee so still in my life. It is always so wonderful to step out of lifes hurries to capture the detail of something so small and unnoticed. This was my favorite of the series and the detail is just wonderful.

This is a picture of my two daughters, and their two cousins, having fun at Grona Lund-park in Stockholm. I took the picture last summer using my Kodak DX 3900, which I only had for a few months. I was pleased with how it turned out -- because it shows summer, fun and action.

My fiance's first attempt at gardening -- his first tomato! The picture was taken with a Kodak LS443 and 2 macro lenses.

Like many 2-year-olds, my son, Pierce, is an avid outdoorsman. After four days of non-stop rain, he awoke on the fifth day thinking things would be different. I suggested he use this umbrella to splash outside a bit, thinking it would cheer him up. Unfortunately, it didn't but it sure created a sweet photograph.

I took this photo about a year ago of a rabbit that lived at my workplace. Although he is not living now, he was alot of fun. Rabbits are funny animals!

My wife and I were guests at a friend's wedding. I used a fisheye lens to capture the bride, the church, and the groom standing off to the left. It really took in the whole scene, and created a beautiful picture.

I think there is an unwritten law -- that every photographer in New Jersey has to have this shot in his/her portfolio. I've shot this in every format from 35mm to 5X7... 5X7 wins, hands down. This picture was taken using 5X7 Kodak Ektachrome film, using a B&J view camera and Tiffen Polarizer on a 10" f/6.3 lens.

I took this picture in Beijing, China in 1997. I like how engaged the men are in their conversation. I love the colors too; it almost looks like a painting.

When I look at this picture -- it feel's as if I am a knight on a quest, and must travel in the unknown. I took this picture on May 29th,2003 at Moss Beach, California.

This picture was taken in my backyard. It's special to me because it is of my 5 year old son, Devin, doing what he loves to do...eat watermelon. Among all the things my two sons enjoy doing during the summer, eating watermelon is enjoyed the most.

This is a white mini carnation shot in colour against a black velvet background. What fascinates me about shooting black and white in colour, is that the whites always prove to have subtle and interesting colour variations, as this flower does.

I have been trying to experiment with different lighting for a while now, and managed to use the natural sunlight coming through a window to capture this very serene shot of my favourite model...my 6 year old daughter Megan. I call her...my little princess.

This picture was taken in my back garden at 8:00 pm. It was just one of those instances -- when you're in the right place -- at the right time.

I took this picture of my niece, Ashley, blowing bubbles in the park. Then in Paint Shop Pro, I created the effect of a grey scale picture with colored bubbles. My niece loved the picture!

I was in the back yard hanging wet clothes, when I looked up at the clothes pins in the light against the sky, and thought it looked plenty cool. So, I got my camera and took some shots -- and this is what I came up with.

This is a picture I took of my friends little boys while we were at the park. I loved the picture -- and the day!

This is a picture of Hoosier, a European Starling who has chosen to be my friend. She makes the entire family laugh with her whistling and talking. Due to injuries, she cannot be released. I took this picture after her adult feathers came in.

This photograph was an accident -- a good one though! It was taken a year ago for a poetry reading session at the university, using an Olympus camera, a long exposure, and ISO 100. It's very artistic because of the multipilicity of meaning it can evoke -- like ethnicity, cultural rootedness, and others. It's also artistic because of it's abstraction from usual concrete images.

As I took this picture I thought, the old streetscapes of Shanghai will disappear before long...

My grand daughter, Steph, is doing a 4H photography project -- and I've been shooting her, shooting pics. We were taking some sunset pictures, when I snapped this shot of her. Taken on Lake Pokegema, Pine City, MN, June 11,2003.

This is my dog Jimmy. In this photo, he is quite suspicious of my activity. He is tired and doesn't really want to be bothered. I like taking wide angle close-ups of pets, it makes their noses look so cute!

This is a picture of my 18 month old son, Roman. He's smelling flowers for the first time!

This picture was shot using a Mamiya C220 TLR with a 135MM F/4.5 lens on Kodak Ektachrome film. It was taken at the Daniel Boone Homestead in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania. The scene was lit by light coming in from a large open door and a window on the opposite wall.

This picture was taken in May, and is special to me because I just love Infared shots, and because this is one of the places I love to swim at in the hot weather. The mill was erected by John McPherson on December 15, 1823, and still stands today! I wanted to shoot it in Infared to give it a dream like feel from years gone by. I used a Hoya R72 Infared filter, and a long shutter speed of 30 seconds to blur the water. I think it relates to the Artistic/Creative theme I selected because not too many people shoot in Infared, and I think it's a creative composition and technique.

I took this photo in Paris last Christmas. I had recently moved to France, and my children came to visit during the holidays. It was unbelievably cold, and there was even snow! Pretty intense when you are from California. I think this photo captured the spirit of all of the artists who braved the weather. It was unposed -- and I caught just the right moment!

This is a close-up shot of a 1949 Cadillac hood ornament. I took this at a classic car show by adding a +7 macro lens to my Kodak DC3400 camera.

Photographed in a Vietnamese hardware shop, this image of paint pigments had both beautiful light and colours.

This was my son's first visit to a friend's farm. The texture of the hay was the perfect backdrop for my photograph, as well as a great source of amusement for Pierce.

This picture was taken at Buye Beach, in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. Here's a man making a honest living selling beach toys. Very colorfull, but his age in making him stall. Even with a very slow pace, he continues to sell his goods.

This picture is special to be because it was taken at one of the times when you're not suppose to get great shots -- and it was the last exposure on the roll. It was taken in Zilker Park, which is in Austin, Texas, while I was a student. I had chosen to shoot in various park/gardens that day, and to focus on just flower/plants, and not the large scenes in the park.

Here is a photograph of my grandson, taken on a playground at a local McDonald's. The photo was taken on June 27, 2003.

There is nothing better than spending a day sailing on the Chesapeake Bay!

This picture was taken during our family vacation at Depoe Bay, Oregon in July 2002.

A favorite subject of mine, this was taken at Rye Playland in July 2003. I used a slow shutter speed and a tripod to capture the motion of the wheel.

In this picture, I managed to capture all 5 grandchildren together. Getting them all in one spot, and without posing, was great!

This photo shows a unique view looking straight up a construction sites caged ladder. The sharp lines and silhouette of the ladder contrast nicely with the vivid blue sky and clouds, invoking strong emotion from a typically uninteresting object.

It does not look like what it is... It's a picture of a Sunflower taken at night !

I am quite fond of this picture for two reasons. First, it reminds me of our vacation on Martha's Vineyard. And two, I like the contrast of the towels against the golden sand and blue sky. The people who owned these towels were kind enough to move for me so I could take this shot.

I enjoy the bemused look this seagull seemed to have when it looked into the water an saw "another" seagull staring back at it. I took the picture on the waterfront just outside my home, on the shores of Lake Macquarie in NSW. The seagull is one of the many and varied water birds on the lake that I wander by daily. I feel very fortunate to live in a beautiful location that provides me with opportunities to take photos of the birds "up close and personal'" in their natural environment.

This picture was taken in Turkey, near the city of Safranbullu, a 6 hour drive from Istanbul. It is special to me because of the powerfull simplicity and kindness reflected of this man's face. I took the picture with a Nikon f-100 and 24-85 Nikkor 2.8-4.0 macro lens.
