KODAK MOMENT of the Day

Hailie, born 3 months premature, is our family's newest addition -- and the first born of the 4th generation! Still only the size of a two month old, this picture was taken of her at 7 months.

This picture was taken during a rafting expedition in North-Karelia, Finland, July 2001. I used Kodak E100VS film and the dramatic sunset light, to draw carefully this present-day Karelian boat.

Last fall, our mum was abuzz with bees. I spent ages watching and photographing them. I love the pollen all over this one.

I love this photo! Not because I took the photo, but because of the deep red morning sky. I was on my way into a local restaurant when I saw the morning sky color developing. I quickly ran back to my car -- grabbed my trusty digital camera, and snapped away.

This picture was taken during a trip to Yellowstone Park this past August. It was one of the first pictures taken with my new camera!

Pictured here, the peaceful tranquility of Balloons over the Scandia Mountain Range. This picture was taken during a Balloon ride at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta -- an event that takes place each October. There is nothing quite like it!

Many of the florists have been selling Dahlias which have been dyed. The blue was particulary photogenic.

This picture was take on my first trip to Italy. Every time I see it I sense the wonderful smells of the Piaza Navona. The picture has a fifties look in black and white, but I wanted to keep the color of one of the birds. I hope you like it!

While working with these jacks, I noticed how their shadows formed the outline similar to a human frozen in motion.

At her big sister's 6th birthday party, 2 yr. old Darcey celebrated by blowing bubbles. She ended up wearing most of the bubbles, but didn't care a bit!

I took this photo in my neighbor's garden. Every year we look forward to the arrival of the Monarch Butterflys and the special "gifts" they give to us. A few days after they leave, we find several Monarch caterpillars enjoying the milkweed. A rite of passage. The photo was taken in Williams, OR, on Wednesday, July 23, 2003. If you're asking how it relates to the theme 'nature' its nature recreating itself, a beautiful process!

This picture was taken in Manila last August. The baby's name is Darius Lark, and he loves to hide behind the door. The picture is purely candid!

This is a picture of one of our heifers, who was waiting for the evening feeding. The picture was taken on our farm in Southern Illinois.

While most of the eastern U.S. shivered in a January cold wave, Key West enjoyed this beautiful sunset. The photo was taken with a digital camera.

I took this picture of a tall ship in San Francisco Bay then created the Sepia tone and added the fog.

This is a picture of my four year old daughter. She was a miracle to me, as I was told I would never have children. She loves to have her picture taken, but this one shows her true sweetness and innocence. The picture was taken in June while she was sitting down reading. Children have such unique personalities, I feel this picture really captured hers.

This is a photo of my cousin's Old English Sheepdog pups. I had the best time taking their pictures -- and for 7 week old pups, they were very well behaved!

Here is a picture of Angelina taken on a walk at a national park in Estonia - Kadriorg. She very much likes to feed birdies, and always takes along plenty of forage for them.

Rich in symbolism in many cultures and perfect in form, the humble egg has been a frequent subject in my art and photography. There always seems to be one more way to photograph them!

I took this picture for an assignment for my photographic course.

I love autumn colours. This year, the colour of leaves on trees began to change long before the temperature began to drop. I saw many red leaves while the temperature was still in the 80s, which is most unusual. The temperature on the day I took this picture was at least 80F.

Here's a picture of me and my Grandson taken during our 6th annual hunt trip to my camp in Buena Vista, Georgia. He became intrested in my cameras, and we "shot" sunsets. My Son took this picture with a Kodak DX4900 @ Max resolution and flash off.

I was living and traveling in Europe for seven months, and this is one of my favorite shots from the whole trip. It came out looking great! I now have a poster-size of it in my room.

This picture was taken a few weeks ago in our backyard. Hiding inside this sweet frog was a very handsome prince!

This image is of a longtime friend of my family, Moses. He fell asleep in a hammock after a long trip from the village he lives in to my home, Monkey Bay. I enjoyed this moment so much because it is spontaneous and serene at the same time.

This is a photo of a beautiful Beluga whale. I had to experiment with different camera settings because the lighting was tricky in this underwater environment.

Busch Gardens - Williamsburg, VA does an excellent job of decorating the park for the fall and "Howl-O-Scream" (the parks Halloween adventure).

We raise guide dogs and this is Vings first fall season with us -- and first visit to the pumpkin patch.

I took this at my brother and sister-in-law's house a week ago. I thought it looked so neat!

Every boy, young and old, has that special car they dream about. The young ones, though, have the ability to make their dream a reality.

This is a macro of two mushrooms in my garden. I love the colour which is enhanced by using a mini light box and not correcting the white balance to "redden" the image.

Aussie trekker marries sherpa -- and the result? A gorgeous little Nepalese 'princess' bedecked in pashima. This was taken at a recent family get together while her Nepalese grandmother was here for a visit. A special time for them both, and I feel the photo reflects the elegance and serenity that the subject has inherited from her equally beautiful grandmama.

I really love the color of this flower. We brought it inside so we can enjoy the plant all winter.

This is one of our cats and his name is Stormy. He is camera-shy and the only time to photograph him is when he sleeps. It took quite a few minutes to get up this close without him leaving the area.

While waiting for my niece's performance, which was to follow this one, I dutifully waited in hopes of getting some pictures to add to the family album. Before me appeared, as with each group prior, a line of young performers excitingly taking their places. Although glittery vinyl costumes brightened them like sunshine, that is not what caught my eye here. It was these four on the end of a line. Uniquely positioned, my eye was first drawn, only to be captivated by the conveyance of their own unique experience. I could only imagine the range of emotions and the thoughts that raced through their minds . . . while waiting for the first note to fall.

Stopping to take this picture at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, I was struck by how the reflective surface of the wall pulls you in, and makes you a part of the memorial itself. In doing so, it serves as a testament to the sacrifice of American Veterans, and makes them "more than a name on a wall."

This is a picture of Grandma Ruth who is celebrating her 100th birthday on November 12th. This picture was taken when she was about 1 year old, and was the one used for an invitation to her 100th Birthday Party celebration. The party will bring together the entire family spanning 5 generations! Through the use of Digital Imaging, Kodak was able to restore the picture to nearly original quality. When I look at this picture, it makes me reflect on what she has seen in the course of her life -- from her first job as a "Hello Girl" at the post office, she saw the birth of the automobile, telephones, woman's rights; and a man on the moon . . . She is an extremely strong woman and her spirit for life serves as a role model for all!

We had just moved into our new home, and saw this. There was plenty of 'gold' foliage at the end of this rainbow!

My son fell asleep on my bed. He looked so peaceful I had to the capture the pose with him holding his blanket. Times like these are so precious, I treasure them!

I took this picture while visiting Brigus, Newfoundland this past July for the annual Brigus Blueberry Festival. I have a facination with lighthouses, and the sky was just amazing the day that I took this picture.

This is the front view of the Leslie Hotel, an Art Deco masterpiece built in 1937 in Miami's South Beach. The cantilevered sunshades over the windows are a feature called "eyebrows" and are a distinctive Art Deco feature that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. This shot was taken just before dawn. I was thrilled with the exposure as the lighting and the colors bring out the details of the facade.

This is my son Bernardo, waiting to be baptized this past September. At 1 year and 4 months old, he was tired of waiting -- and was longing to play with the birds in front of the church.

Although we ran into this by pure luck, this truly was an amazing site to see! We were on our way back from a trip to Yosemite National Park, when we saw this amazing display of nature--fog--and sunset. We just had to pull over and take in the view!

I took this picture in the Texas Hill Country with my digital camera. The sun was setting just behind the windmill and created a wonderful silhouette.

A friend and I were on a trip to northern Montana when we came across this scene. There was a solid cobalt blue sky that day, and when I saw the image after it was developed, it just didn't seem to go with the rest of the image. So . . . I replaced it with one from my file which I felt was a better fit than the original. My friend has since been confined to his home, and when I view the image now, I am reminded of happier times.

This place is near the hospital where I work, in Messolongi, Greece. I took the picture, the Church of Holy Trinity, one afternoon in early May.
