KODAK MOMENT of the Day

I took this in my hometown on a bright fall day. I liked the colors of the leaves against the bright blue sky and background -- but what really attracted me to the shot, was the shadows on the leaves.

This picture was taken early in the morning in Phu Quoc Island, South Vietnam. Morning is the time when people carry to the market by scooter. I used Kodak Max.

This was taken this past summer after a light summer rain.

I wanted to create a contrast between two materials, steel and rocks. The image was taken in macro mode with a Kodak DX6490.

I took this picture on my way to town. We live 4 miles from town and the first mile is beside the river. If I take my camera with me, sometimes that mile takes me an hour.

This is a double exposure of a full moon over Colorado Springs.

This is a picture of 2 flower girls dancing at a wedding reception. I was pleased to have captured their motion and joy.

A visit to a children's petting zoo offered many photo ops, the best of which was this adorable duo - photogenic matching goats! I decided this worm's-eye-view would give the image the near symmetrical composition I wanted.

After our first snowfall in Conneticut last winter, I set out in my 4X4 in search of a scene that would reflect the beauty and magic of the season. I was fortunate to find this scene...trees heavy laden with snow and geese on this unfrozen pond.

Last year at Christmas, my wife's father and sister made a set of carolers for each family that came for Christmas. They made a nice grouping!

This picture was taken at my vacation to Croatia this summer with my family. The location was Split, the old town. I notice this motive and it was very interesting to me.

A "macro" shot of our holiday poinsettia. Tis the season.

This was taken one evening on Broad Street, in Red Bank, New Jersey. Red Bank is a cool place to go walking at night, there's always a lot going on. I used my favorite B&W film, Kodak T400CN, in a Nikon FM camera with a 24mm f/2.8 Nikkor lens.

This is a picture of my wife taken in California. We had a lot of fun taking it to see if we could get the sun in just the right location to make it appear she is catching it.

I don't know why, but just at freeze up this little swamp area turned an incredible blue. Glad I had my camera along.

This is one of my favorite images. It's a shot of the San Pedro Coast in Southern California -- with catalina island in the background. I like how the 4 sec. exposure turned the water into a mist.

While working in the Paro Valley in the Kingdom of Bhutan, I was documenting a monastery that is also used as a school for young monks. Having always been fascinated by the history that one can see in old, worn Asian walls, I was admiring the age and wisdom of a particular wall when a young student passed by. Not realizing that he even saw me, he looked up right when I took this photograph. Not only did he look up at the perfect time allowing for me to capture this image between the white lines, but he also portrayed a confidence and young wisdom that is often rendered by the Bhutanese people.

These candles are part of an Advent Wreath. We love to celebrate Jesus Birthday! So simple, yet mysterious.

This little miracle is my son. He is seeing the miracle of Christmas through the eyes of a child. I took this one night in our home after putting up our Christmas tree. "It's Christmas!"

This picture has been taken in September 2003. It is special to me because I took it with my first digital camera.

I shot this photo at Dubrovnik, Croatia, using a Nikon N-70 with a 35-80 mm Nikor lens.

The county fair...the lights, the excitement, the waffle cones and the elephant ears--all make a this nighttime excursion worth the price of admission.

This was taken at our cottage in Northern Ontario. It was my daughter's 6th birthday and she was enjoying her new Window Writer markers. The sunlight shone in through the window, illuminating her. This photo really caught her creative character and grace.

This was taken in Rocky Mountain National Park at Big Thompson River, about a week after Colorado received the snowstorm of the century. Part of the park actually received about one hundred inches of snow from that storm.

My daughter with a little bit of her young age attitude. I couldn't resist that look on her face. The eyes were staring straight into me through the lens.

This photo was my first attempt to take a night time exposure. I took the photo underneath the Brooklyn Bridge inorder to include the night skyline of New York City with the lights reflecting in the water.The photo was taken in honor of the Bridge's 100th birthday in August 1981. The actual time of day was 7:45 p.m., and I used a 5 second time exposure.

After the major snowstorm we had this weekend, I thought this would be a great shot! enJOY!

It was the first snow of the year here in Westchester County, and our 5 year old Samoyed - named "Natasha Snow" - was definitely in her element! This photo was taken on our property in Cortlandt Manor, NY.

This picture is special to because it's of my grandson :-) It was taken on a crisp fall day in November in the back yard on a tire swing. I think the picture shows a childs freedom, and how we wish we could all go back to that time of swinging on a tire. It flys by.

This photo was taken in my local village in England one foggy night. The fog really lent itself to some great shots throughout the village.

This is my youngest Riley, playing in the wintery weather. He loved the first snow of the season.

I have always loved infra red pictures and this picture was taken in my backyard using my infra red on my camera and a filter. Once I was told it would become "old hat" -- but, I am still waiting :-) Settings: SS: 1/60, Aperture: 2.0, Program: NIGHT SHOT, Hand held. UNcropped

My daughter in the yellow dress is playing the role of Clara in the Nutcracker ballet. I took the picture at the dress rehearsal where I could freely move around the theater with my camera. I think it's a wonderful, joyous picture.

My cat, Mr.I, was a model for a photo project I did a few months ago. He quickly lost interest in the camera and fell asleep -- this is when I took my best picture of him. He is my special companion, and is loved by everyone I know. =^..^=

I took this picture in Santa Fe, New Mexico. What character.

I loved the color of this Dahlia (Karma Sangria) when I saw it at a nursery recently. It seems to glow from within. I think flowers relate quite well to "Nature" around us.

I like this picture for the rich colors, and for the expression on the boys face.

I love nature, and capturing this shot with my wife conveys to me the awsome power and beauty surrounding us. The shot was taken on Kodak Ektachrome VS with an exposure time of about 15 seconds. It was taken at Lower Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona, in August, 2003.

These colorful houses are built on the cliffs that form the entrance to the St. John's Harbour in Newfoundland, Canada.

This is my Chocolate Labrador Retriever named Chance Clamp. The picture was taken in my backyard in Rock Hill, SC during a snowstorm in January. When I saw him posing that way, I just had to get a picture.

This image was taken at about 10:45 p.m. I waited six months for the oppertunity to capture the image. I knew the tree was perfect, because when it would rain, the light next to it would light up the whole tree. All I needed was an ice storm. Then one day, I got what I was waiting for.

I love watching the hummingbirds at the feeder outside my patio door. They, however, are difficult to catch on film. So, I decided to try to get pictures of some of the creatures that raid the feeder. The lizards are there often, using their long tongues to drink from the holes. This one was very cooperative, allowing me to take several close-ups with my Kodak LS443 before jumping from the feeder to the house and scurrying off into the bushes. The picture was taken in July, 2003.

My Godson came to visit over the hollidays, and we took him to Washington, DC on the subway. This picture reflects how thrilled and amazed he was looking out the window.

These mills were so lovely with the last light of the days, the diagonal lines and the fresh snow.

I wanted to capture the mystery and beauty of this little-known New York City park.

This is Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada, and where Swiss Air Flight 111 crashed into the water killing all aboard. I was serving in the Army at that time, and was involved in the cleanup. This picture is special to me because this was the first time I visited here since that time in my life, and since I took up photography. I took this picture in February 2003, and the wind coming right off of the water was a bone chilling -42c, and it made it very hard to breath. I just wanted to remember this beautiful place as I shot it here in this sunset!

This picture is special to me because it's of my precious baby girl... I was happy with how the picture turned out and that it looked so natural.

I took this photo at the Belgrade Zoo, in Serbia. I used Kodak bw c-41 film. I just love this smile!

This picture was taken in Ukraine, winter 1985. Soon after it was taken I had quite the adventure. I found myself waist deep in freezing water! Despite this, the shot was worth it as it proved to be one of the most accomplished pictures in my collection.

This photo was taken during a trip to Norway. The time was 6 a.m., and the colors were just wonderful...

This picture was taken for my photography class at Martin County High School. I used a Canon Rebel EOS 2000, and Kodak TMAX 400 B/W film. It's one of my favorites and is of our Dean jumping over a puddle as it rained. The photo has not been edited or altered on a computer.

I love the challenge of capturing these beautiful birds in flight. It's easier on a windy day.
