KODAK MOMENT of the Day

I took this picture today in Edwards Gardens, a lovely park here in Toronto. I noticed this female goose sitting near a pond, with her mate close beside her. As I looked at her for a while, I began to notice little heads emerging from here and there beneath her wings. And, as I watched and kept snapping my shutter, I was able to get this shot. Just a few moments after I shot it, the mother goose got up, and 7 littler goslings ememrged from under her!

This is one of the lambs of 2004. They are so sweet.. Just looking at them makes you feel happy -- and longing for spring and summer again!

I spotted this 'flower' at the side of the road while out walking. To think that I almost walked right past it. This symbolizes my need to slow down and appreciate beauty in the every day.

This was taken in May 2003, overlooking the town harbor in Oriental, NC. This is where I call home but it is a vacation destination for many. The town dock sees hundreds of sailers each year traveling north to south and back again. Oriental is a favorite stop over. Right at sunrise the colors are awesome. I 'm always looking for unusual boats at the dock. This image is special to me because this is what I think of when I think of Oriental, a mix of sailboats and work boats.

The girls in this photo are sisters. I loved the way they posed, and I think it's a cute photo of them.

My son and I came across this small bunch of wildflowers while on a walk through the woods in May.

This was taken at the Inman Park Festival in Atlanta, GA during the parade.

I took this picture the very first day it snowed in December. The brillant colors of the flag, aganist the old white building was such a contrast. I also worked the colors and processed it as a watercolor.

This picture reminds me of how our Nation came about. It was taken in Gordon, Georgia at a very old cemetery, which I happened to notice one day while driving through the town. The picture was taken with a Kodak 4900 EasyShare camera.

I took this while visiting the Lincoln Park Zoo. Inside the open bird enclosure birds were flying around everywhere--this particular one was very friendly and curious about my camera!

This picture was taken at Versova fisherman's coast, Mumbai, India. The boy was expecting his father to arrive after his daily work at sea. Others had already arrived. It was sunset time, 6:00 p.m.

While visiting an old friend -- her horse was waiting in the window when I drove up. The horse looked so "picture like" with the window used as a frame, I couldn't resist taking this picture. I enjoy the beauty of horses!

I took the picture recently while travelling in Kosovo. I noticed the lady from a distance and started to approach her. She was sitting at the road side selling fruit from a large basket. Her smile really lightened up her weathered face and I thought how warm she looked on such a cold day.

This picture was taken in my back yard in Anderson, SC. I used a Kodak LS443 digital camera with two stacked macro lenses.

This photo is special because it 's of my kids getting ready for my cousin's wedding in Florence, Italy. They were both in the wedding--my son was the ring bearer and my daughter, the flower girl. It was a true "Kodak Moment"!

We were visiting Toronto. While in the harbor area, I saw this interesting boat with a great reflection. I really enjoy finding reflections to photograph!

My six year old, Jesse, was given a Kodak CX6200 digital camera for Christmas, and this was his first picture. We have been delighted with his pictures -- it was the perfect gift!

This image was taken not far from my home early one morning in early May. Our winter was extremely brutal this year, and it almost seemed that people were waiting until the "warm" weather set in to display their flags. One morning I walked out to my car and noticed my neighbor had hung their flag. The lighting was great and the sky was beautiful. They were the the first on my block to hang their red, white and blue.

This is one of the first pictures I took of my 1 month old daughter. The picture was taken in Bangalore, India.

I was siting near Morro Rock taking pictures of the sunset and the surfer came in as the light faded and just kept looking back at the sun as if he was dissapointed that the day was over. He looked over his shoulder back at the waves and the setting sun all the way back to his car -- kind of giving it the "I'll be back look."

This picture was taken at the skate park in Pella, Iowa. I was watching my son ride his skateboard, and this young man was doing some amazing tricks.

I had been trying to capture a good shot of the Bald Eagle at the Zoo here in Fort Worth for several months. Finally, I got the shot that I thought would make a fitting example for "Kodak Picture of the Day!"

My three girls out for a walk in the early spring, snow still on the ground. Big sister Hannah takes good care of her younger sisters. All three in step together, so rare in our lives. I walked behind them for several minutes waiting for the right moment.

I went to the garden, to take photos of my wife's daisies -- when this little creature came along, and added so nicely to the photo.

My father, took this picture many years ago and I think it's absolutely fantastic. The look in the musicians eyes shows how preoccupied he is, playing his violin. I wish to show this picture to other people, because I adore it.

We were on vacation in Block Island, RI in August of 2003. Right after breakfast as I was walking though town, I came across a bike rental with all red bikes. So I snapped this photo of their well used wares.

I took the picture last November while travelling in Rwanda. Recently, the country has been remembered for the genocide which took place 10 years ago. The people there were so friendly and every where I went I was greeted with such warm smiles.

This picture was taken right before sunset in the Namib Desert in Namibia. The park contains the tallest sand dunes in the world. Although the tree gives some scale, you don't really realize how tall they are until you try to climb one.

This is my best turtle shot! I came upon this adorable Green Turtle when I was scuba diving at Molasses Reef in Key Largo. Turtles can be very skiddish, but I approached him very slowly, and he let me move in for a really tight shot!

I love photographing animals, and this really caught my eye--a baby goose looking at itself. Taken at Lord's Park in Elgin, Illinois, May '04.

We were on a surf trip -- and there was a surfing contest on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Nalu entered the contest, and this shot was one of the photos taken of him. We made a lot of friends and sent some photos to our new friends!

The late afternoon sun provided the perfect backlighting for this photo, making the dragonfly appear to glow. I also liked the lens flare in the top right and bottom left corners, which added to the feeling of intense light.

I was on a regular daywalk when I saw this ol' sheperd and his goat. I love this photo because of the smile and 'cause both were looking at the camera in the same way :)

I like the American look... :-)

I took this over Memorial Day Weekend '04. What a humbling sight of our founding fathers. Their determination and vison for America is what has kept America the longest running democracy in the world. One of the great historical places to visit in all of America.

The Statue of Liberty is an icon of New York, the U.S.A., and freedom.

This picture was taken during the July 4th fesitivities in 2003, and I think it encompasses the tradition that is July 4th. It is still a timeless event for the entire family that every generation shares and enjoys.

I saw this technique done in a photo club by a very special artist. This is one of my attempts, and I was happy with the way it turned out!

This is a picture of my beautiful two and a half year old daughter. She actually stood still and posed for me -- which in itself -- is a miracle :-)

It is amazing to me to see the details in the grasshopper's eyes. The camera lens can capture details that your eyes miss.

Walking the beach on Cape Cod, I ran across two young boys playing in the surf and thought the effect of them in silhouette would make a nice photo. Taken with Kodak LS443.

This is my Weimaraner, Willow. She is a wonderful companion to our family.

I took this picture on a trip to Arches National Park in Moab, Utah. I am from the east coast and I had never seen anything quite like the rock formations and mountains out west. This picture is of a rock formation named Park Avenue.

The two faces of these binoculars are at a point overlooking Lake George. They remind me of pokerfaces of two diplomats getting together for "The Summit."

Architectural details from a building in Montreal.

I took this picture while some friends and I were shopping in the Hamptons, Long Island this last summer. Although the shop had some great things, I found this guy named Kiwi to be much more interesing and extremely photogenic. This is one of the shop owners beloved pets and he obviously loves the customers just as much. Even the ones that stick cameras in his face. He posed for so many and it was hard to pick just one to send. I like this shot because it makes me smile and I hope it does the same for you.

Old sports equipment was the inspiration for this photo.

I shot this picture near the beach of Herzelia City. The girls standing position looks like a part of the statue and composition is beutiful. You don`t see a pose like this everyday.

None of my relatives wanted to come with me to watch that I would not be stepped on while I am flat on the ground taking the picture (They were too shy). Insulted to the dept of my bones I had no other choice but to go there all alone at night. The tower is one of the two "Izraeli" Towers located in Tel Aviv. A real work of art that honors the city of Tel Aviv and "put it on the map".
