KODAK MOMENT of the Day

This picture was taken in the old part of Sarajevo. I really liked her expression and her silly eyes. That's why I made the shot.

During her birthday party, Linda's friends decided to throw her in the water. I was amazed at the detail of the water splashes from the digital photo.

I love the surreal look of these flowers. I actually bought 3 of them just to take pictures of. I took this shot in my mini-studio in my basement. Mother nature sure creates wonderful things!

Taken at Hocking Hills State Park in Ohio. I kept thinking, "I wish people would get out of the way so I could take a good shot of the falls..." Then I looked beyond my own short-sightedness and saw what a nice interest this group of Amish ladies added to the scene. It's called "Seperate Ways" because of the split in the falls, the seperate culture of the Amish, and the one lady on the left looking away from the group.

This photo was taken inside our house, and is only some of of the stamps in my relatives stamp collection. Approximately 50 yrs old, the stamps remind me of our country's history.

Stumbled across this little guy and his family of burrowing owls living in the parking lot of a strip shopping mall here in Davie, FL. Even though we are destroying their homes with constant building, nature finds a way to survive. They live right next to a pizza place and a bar. Amazing.

Two Photos, a self portrait of my eyes and a sunflower leaf with a couple holes eaten out. :) Both photos were taken in London, Ontario. This image has special meaning to me, as I first looked through the holes, then digitally replicated what it might have looked like. I also think the title broken down matches each photo, and is a nice pun on them combined. :)

I am an aspiring Photographer, who has a special interest in thoroughbred race horses. This image was taken on opening day, June 17, 2005 at Colonial Downs, New Kent, Virginia and captures the finish line of Race 2 that Day!

This picture was taken at a family BBQ during the summer of 2005 in New York, NY, USA. This photo is special to me because each time I look at it, it makes me think about all the things that make a great summertime BBQ, family, friends, good food & fun.

I took this picture at a roadside produce stand near my home in late July. It's special to me because when I see winter pears, I know Summer is almost over and Fall will soon be here. I loved the way the pears looked on the old, weathered wood shelf with the sun hitting them gently from the side. I could almost feel Fall in the air.

This is my daughter making a pouty face. Though she's not talking yet, I think her face speaks volumes on this shot.

I saw this family at the Washington, D.C. Zoo. Clearly the older baby is feeling the "jealous-of-the-new-baby syndrome." They made a nice trio, and their body language spoke to me.

Selling incense is a common sight at temples in Cambodia. It is used to lift prayers after the person leaves.

This picture is special to me because Oliver is the love of my life. It was taken outside of my home, as he was getting ready to go boating/fishing with his dad.

My mother and I often go to the Blue Moon Gardens (in Chandler, Texas) to spend time together. This was the first water lily bloom of the summer.

At the hot air balloon festival in St. Jean sur Richelieu, Quebec I saw these balloons against the blue sky and recorded the moment.

Fun with marshmallows and 15 seconds of microwave heat. Warning: it's pretty hot even for that short a period of time -- and I had to work fast before it stiffened up. Surprisingly, it cleaned off really easily.

My daughter and three of her friends bought a Jack Russell puppy. Sounds like an episode of "Leave It to Beaver." So far, her quarter ownership has worked out well...Ward and June haven't had to intervene.

While driving to church on Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, I saw this lemonade stand where a group of children, with their parents, were raising money for the victims of Katrina. I was very moved as this is the island that was so devastated by Hurricane Hugo in 1989. I stopped after church and contributed. They gave me a brownie and posed for a photograph. People helping people.

Looking at my fruit basket, I saw some colors which needed consideration!

I have been looking for a field of Sunflowers to take a picture of for a long time. It took going on a vacation to find it! Taken in August 2005, along I-90 in South Dakota.

This photo is special because my son really really wanted to play ball with me and I was tired sitting on a bench. Then he grabbed the ball and put it to his face and asked, "PLEASE." Well geeze how could you say no!! :)

This was taken while on family vacation this past summer in Bonavista, NL, Canada. I saw this shed and I liked how the white window looked against the red siding on the shed. My wife laughed at me for taking it. I told her it was artistic side showing through, that made her laugh harder.

This picture was taken in The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, in Jerusalem. This woman, a religious believer caught my attention, while she was praying in a very devout and pious manner.

My passion is poker, taken at home.

This picture is special to me because I recently got a new camera, and this picture was one of the first I took. The picture was taken at Southworld Docks, in May 2005.

This is little Isabel. She is one of a set of identical twins. I'm entering it because it was such a fun picture to take. I used the Kodak Gem Airbrush filter to make her look flawless.

I took this photo when my two best friends and I went to Italy after graduation. I think it captures the excitement of the time, the energy I had and the beauty of the city.

I took this picture of two dancers at Disneyland in Hong Kong. I found their movements and costumes very interesting and thought of sharing it with Kodak viewers.

This is my 9 month old Chihuahua, Tucker. I took it on a hot Sunday afternoon this summer. I can't believe how much he lets me pose him without making a move!!!! This guy needs an agent, he's awesome! He may be a pet, but we treat him just as any other "kid" in our family... (well, a bit more spoiled!)

This is my daughter on a competitive soccer team. I like the action shot - and how you can see that her leg is back ready to kick the ball and the ball is coming down to meet her foot.

This Australian Greentree Frog has such a beautiful smile :-) I took this photo in the backyard of my house. He was sitting in a potted plant.

I took this picture at home, set up on my kitchen table. To me, her expression is awesome. I am a new photogrpher, and this is the best picture that I have taken.

I was playing with this squirrel for awhile and fed it a few pistachios. It was taken at the UCLA Botanical Gardens.

Not so easy to get good shots of your children...

This photo was taken in June 2005, in Oaxaca, Mexico. Although you see a lot of older cars on the streets, few are as old as this vintage Chevrolet. I liked the interplay of colors.

This originally was a picture of only half of my daughters face. I mirrored it and digitally enhanced it. It's one of my favorite pieces, there is a glow and softness in this piece, and of course, it's my daughter!
