After a great deal of discussion, my good friend Kyle convinced me to take my camera on the mountain. This was one of the first shots I took of him in the park. Just remindes me that a great picture can be taken anywhere and with anything... but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take!

Odor-Eaters?
This shot is special to me because I when I took it I was still learning the basics of photography, well, I'm still learning! So I guess you could say, it's one of my first photographic successes.
I was trying to learn more about long exposures when I took this shot, which as you can see, is what I used here to create the light trails coming out of the boots. The shot was taken in my kitchen with no other lighting than the green you see, and a fill flash at the end of the shot.
I feel that it's a perfect fit for the humor theme as I would hope no one would have fluorescent green "stink" coming out of their shoes!

This picture was taken in August 2005, at Assateague State Park in Virginia Maryland. Wild horses roam here on the beach and through the dunes. On this particular day we were surf fishing and these two horses walked a few feet away from us -- managing to clear the lines from our fishing poles while taking their walk near the shore. It was amazing.

6 More Weeks
I never understood why when the Groundhog sees it's shadow it means 6 more weeks of winter - I thought it is a harbinger of spring if the sun is shining. Oh well.
For this shot, I cut a hole in my foamboard, and rested it on 2 chairs. Tripod mounted, manual focused camera on a 10 second timer let me get into position. I took many shots - it was hard to get details correct. My eyes would look wierd or my fingers wouldn't be positioned nicely or something else would be wrong. I needed to do some perspective correction in this final version because I had pulled too much on the board, bending my "horizon".

Freedom
To me, this photograph conveys freedom. Fear lost; the attempt at, and short lived duration of, flight; the extension of the woman's form as if she is an extension of the cliff, as if an extension of, and intertwined with, nature.
Taken at Presque Isle, Marquette, Michigan, August 2005.
By theme I assume you mean category: Artistic in timing and presentation. I find it more "emotive", this is the closest category.

Tobogganing Penquins
Origami penguins and the snow scene are my creation. Tobogganing is not a usual winter activity down here in the central Texas. My imagination can bring back my college days I spent in Michigan winters.

Old Beauty
Age might have taken away everything from her, but not her beautiful smile!
She was on a pigrimmage, when she herself called me up from the bus, and spontaneously posed before my camera.

The Missing Barn Boots
I set this up on the morning of 1-27-06, for a photo challenge called "Blue". I shined my daughter's little blue barn boots with baby oil and arranged them in our snowy hayfield. Kingsville, Ohio.

BMX Sunset
This photo is one of my best to date, and is very special to me in that regard. I just love the sunset in the back - and the boy looking very tough, but there is also a somewhat innocent expression to him. I took this shot during the summer of 2005 at our local BMX track.

GOOFY
She put her hands on my shoulders - told me she was going to jump - and asked me to take a picture. The expression on her face is so funny. That's why I titled this GOOFY.
She is the daughter of a good friend - full of personality and a beautiful ten year old young lady. I hope this picture makes people laugh or smile :-)

Makapu'u Moonrise
This full moon rise was taken at Makapu'u Lighthouse on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The clouds parted just at the right time as the fast moving moon passed the lighthouse as the light was lit.

I'm SOOOOO Cold!
My 2 1/2 yr old daughter in her Christmas dress. Being in the Southwest, she didn't get to wear it, or the hat and mittens for Christmas -- so I decided to take a few shots in my home studio. She was pretending she was in the snow on my white backdrop and was SOOOOO COLD!
