Origami penguins and the snow scene are my creation. Tobogganing is not a usual winter activity down here in the central Texas. My imagination can bring back my college days I spent in Michigan winters.

Age might have taken away everything from her, but not her beautiful smile! She was on a pigrimmage, when she herself called me up from the bus, and spontaneously posed before my camera.

I set this up on the morning of 1-27-06, for a photo challenge called "Blue". I shined my daughter's little blue barn boots with baby oil and arranged them in our snowy hayfield. Kingsville, Ohio.

This photo is one of my best to date, and is very special to me in that regard. I just love the sunset in the back - and the boy looking very tough, but there is also a somewhat innocent expression to him. I took this shot during the summer of 2005 at our local BMX track.

She put her hands on my shoulders - told me she was going to jump - and asked me to take a picture. The expression on her face is so funny. That's why I titled this GOOFY. She is the daughter of a good friend - full of personality and a beautiful ten year old young lady. I hope this picture makes people laugh or smile :-)

A motion blur was added to this shot of a snowmobile lifting off at the start line!

This full moon rise was taken at Makapu'u Lighthouse on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The clouds parted just at the right time as the fast moving moon passed the lighthouse as the light was lit.

My 2 1/2 yr old daughter in her Christmas dress. Being in the Southwest, she didn't get to wear it, or the hat and mittens for Christmas -- so I decided to take a few shots in my home studio. She was pretending she was in the snow on my white backdrop and was SOOOOO COLD!

This picture was taken while spending three days wandering around Kentucky. Totally a surprise, this owl just popped out of the shadows at me.

Frogs are a favorite subject of mine and I photographed this tree frog outside my home on one of my elephant ear leaves. When my young daughter found this one, she wanted to keep him as a pet.

I shot this picture during a performance by this Elvis tribute artist at the Dallas Hard Rock Cafe in October, 2005.

On a trip to Beijing, I was attracted by these lovely flowers, placed in front of the entrance to the Forbidden City, in honor of the National Day holiday.

This picture is special for me because it is creative and it was somewhat interesting to create. I took this picture some months ago and only some days ago I finished creating it. It goes without saying - this photo relates to the theme!

I took this photograph in Pushkar, Rajashthan.

As another cruise ship passed ours near the Hubbard Glacier in Alaska, I caught it framed by the mountains. It looked like a travel poster.

My wife decided these two artichokes could be our son's antennae, so she's behind him, holding them up. Fortunately, I was ready with my camera. The shot was taken near Santa Ynez, CA in the summer of 2005.

With this picture I won the "Backstage by Kodak" contest that took place in Switzerland in March 2006. I chose to shape a piece of paper, a material everybody can access, to illustrate the universality of the olympic spirit.

I love love love slinkys! I used glow sticks and stuck them in between the slinky and photographed it at night. I know...I have way to much time on my hands!

This rooster was strutting around early in the morning - so I stalked him until I got this shot. The picture was taken on Cruz Bay - St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. Doesn't he look like he owns the world?

Yes, I really had the clamp attached to my head. Yes, it really hurt... Yes, I am an idiot. :)

Not everyone gets in the game.

Helping my youngest daughter with homework, God's creation in the Book of Genesis, this idea came to mind; "...and let fowl multiply in the earth".

I took this last July in our back yard. This is Spud, my son's new chocolate lab. Isn't he adorable. :-)

I was at the beach trying to capture this great sunset. As soon as I pressed the shutter, this little guy flew right in time for this photo. Taken at Castle Island, Boston, MA.

This is my baby boy so it is extra special to me. He was one week old when this was taken.

This handsome bird resides at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina.

I took this picure of an old house on the way to my home. This house is old and nobody lives in it. I asked my son Dimitrios to stay on the doorstep because I wanted to give some life to this sceene.

Taken early one morning during a vacation in St. Augustine, Florida, this peaceful cemetery made me pause to reflect on how fortunate we are and to be thankful to those that sacrificed everything for our country.

I thought these two baby rabbits were the cutest pair! Just in time for Easter!

This is a picture of a crocus in my yard. It is special to me because it's the first crocus, and means that Spring is here. I selected to put it in nature, and think the picture represents nature at its finest--emerging life and the promise it holds.

This was a high school cross country race that took place in early November in the hills above the San Francisco Bay. My son was in this race (#45) with all his teammates from Bellarmine College Prep, San Jose, CA. I like the intensity captured in the boys' faces, and that you can't see the ground, just them from head to toe.

Huey is the biggest cat I've ever known. Not only is he HUGE -- but, he's one of the sweetest kitties in town. He belongs to some friends in Columbus, Ga. On occassion, I pet-sit for them and couldn't resist taking a picture of this gorgeous cat!

This was taken on a trip to Williamsburg, Va. It is a re-enactment of the revolution. My daughter, granddaughter and I had a great time.

I started out with a yellow happy face and multiplied it in photoshop, making some different colors. I then made a print of them, put it under a bowl of water, and shot away. The only manipulation was to remove some tiny specks cloned out of the water. I shot the picture at home, and was quite happy with how everything came together.

Head of the Charles Rowing Regatta, 2005 Veteran Men's Singles winner, and defending champion Duncan Howat (Pistan Bully RC, WA). The power and grace of this 60 year old champion are stunning.

Laying on my stomach in the wet muddy leaves at the edge of a bog, I waited patiently for this little fellow to surface with my arms outstretched. Surface it did, but not in front of the lens. So I began to move my arms to the direction from where it now looks on -- and when I thought everything was just right, the frog dove again. We played this game for about five minutes, then finally, I thought I figured out it's pattern, as my little green playmate came up right in front of the lens. Without an active display on the back of the camera, I had no idea the the frog was in focus, but the cameras beep told me something was. This is the end result of my lay in the mud.

The flower was gorgeous to begin with, but I added a little something via the digital darkroom to make it appear to be moving.

It's just another day at the park for my girls. This was taken in August 2005. I love to take pictures of them at parks, and they always know pictures first - then they may play.
