I was living with my aunt and uncle for a couple months and we shared a great bonding experience when I was taken to "The Mall" to watch the fireworks.

This was one of the first long exposure shots I had ever taken and was amazed at how well it turned out for my first time! The picture was taken at the 2005 Texas State Fair - Oct 2005. I chose Holiday and Events as my catagory - because it is a yearly event in the state of Texas.

This picture was taken in Mallory Square in Key West, Florida. I snapped the picture just as the overcast skys broke for just a second of sunshine. I had no idea it would turn out as well as it did.

This photo was taken as the sun was setting at Woy Woy on the New South Wales central coast. Pelicans are a known part of this area.

My husband and I went to Las Vegas and spent a little time at the pool. He fell asleep...I was bored...so as usual, I got out my camera. I saw that he was lying right under a cloud that made it look like he was blowing out smoke! He was clueless, and others at the pool must have just thought I was a crazy woman taking pics of a sleeping man...oh well...I had fun!

This is a close up of a large dandelion seed head. I thought they looked like balloons!!

I took this picture while I was visiting in Delaware. I have never seen so many lady bugs -- they were everywhere.

Graduation was a wonderful day! This is my daughter and my father. We all had a great time and this photo reminds me of the fun. But hey, where's the diploma?

This shot was taken in June 2005 at Virginia Safari Park in Natural Bridge, Virginia. This curious Emu just wouldn't leave me alone - lol. I was trying to take a shot of the zebra and POP, wouldn't ya know it! But, it made for a GREAT shot!

This picture is special to me because it was taken right before I walked down the aisle! It was taken April 8th, 2006 at the Birmingham United Methodist Church.

This picture was taken of my neighbours new truck in August 2005. With a little bit of creative cropping the truck appeared to be flying and preparing for landing. (the photographer was able to get out of the way just in time!! :)

Artis Whitfield places the finishing touch on top of a two-story home in New Orleans historic Garden District. Roofing New Orleans is an overwhelming project that is being steadily accomplished through much hard work epitomized by this photo.

Taken in White Sands National Park, New Mexico on our family vacation in mid-April. This place is absolutely breathtaking, especially right before sunset when this was taken. The shadows from the low sun really help show the texture in the sand.

Can you imagine someone who has seen three centuries. U Pho Khin is a proud 106 year old Burmese gentleman, born at the end of the 19th century, living in a small, primative village on the edge of the Ayeyarwady river in Burma (between Bagan and Mandalay). Although he has lost all his teeth, he is otherwise healthy and walks (assisted) from his primative stick house to a seat in the shade every day. He has a clear mind and is highly alert.

Six silos glow in the afternoon sun at Ringbyre Jersey Farm, Kingsville, Ohio. I'm so grateful for our hard-working American farmers, who provide for our needs.

This is a picture of my two year old little girl, taken in my backyard in Texas, June 2006. She is taking a cowgirl bath! The picture is special to me because from the top of her pink hat down to the tips of her hot pink toenails...this little girl is my heart walking outside of my body!

This is a picture of my gorgeous son. I took it in early June while we were on vacation to Myrtle Beach, SC. I love the colors and his smile, and the way his ears fold over under the straps.

This photo was taken near Reelfoot Lake, in NW Tennessee, February 2006. This beautiful female bald eagle is within a few hundred feet of a brooding nest. She has just been relieved by her male mate.

Ruger is a yellow lab. He is a lovable puppy who loves everybody. This is the first day Ruger came home with us.

Stanley Baltimore loves to sit on his front porch and wave to people that pass by in their cars. We stopped and had a wonderful conversation with this most amazing man.

I took this picture of the ceiling of the Guggenheim on a memorable trip to NYC with my best friend!

Working as a pastry chef, art constantly surrounds me. One day while preparing a large quantity of chocolate cake, I came across this photo opportunity. The color and texture of the yolks caught my eye, and I feel that it definitely belongs in the artistic/creative catagory!

I bought a can of yellow paint intending to shoot an abstract and it did not work out. Then a Yellow Challenge contest was announced. I bought some some sunflowers, opened the paint can, set a sunflower on the can after dipping some of the petals into the paint and shot away and repeated til I got one I liked.

I am always fascinated with the beauty of the Indian women. It is enhanced by the beautiful clothes and jewelries they're using. Such exquisite beauty.

Gracie is such a beautiful dog. She is quite regal and has a wonderful sense of play and humor! Big kisses are always in store when she gets to see her "Aunt Laura"!

My daughter Sam took this picture at Universal Studios in Orlando while we were on vacation in May. She is 14 years old and I think she is showing a great talant for photography. I'm so proud!!

Summer vacation from school is filled with baseball.

It was early morning on the beach. The life guards had just finished setting up things and there was still time to enjoy the peace and quiet of a new day.

This was taken in my backyard, April 2006. The detail, the dynamic range, the resolution achieved from a 5mp digicam, and getting getting closer than you could reasonably expect to the subject -- all made for a great shot!

Pictured are my boys, ages 14, 11 and 10 while vacationing in Sarasota, Florida, Easter 2006. I wanted to take your "typical" touristy pose next to this statue, and they just had to check out the view under that dress, so I couldn't resist!! So typical of boys!This just makes me smile!

This is my grandfather from my mother side. He was born on April 27, 1906. The picture was taken when we had the celebration for his 100th birthday, and why I called this picture "100 Years of Thoughts."

One of the first sunflowers of the summer. I love sunflowers, they just make me happy.

This is my daughter Robynn. She is 8 years old, and in this picture, is hiding crystals in our pool. We play games to see who finds the most of them and who can do it in the least amount of time. Since I usually win, she is looking up to see if she can catch me cheating. Geese -- she thinks that I'd do that. LOL

This picture makes me remember the day that these foxes shared an hour of the morning with me. They are a tiny bit of nature that is rare to see. It was taken last spring on the Lake Erie shore.

This is a picture of my two nephews, I wanted to capture their innocence in a special way that they will remember when they are grown up.

I took this picture of the flower girl on my cousin's wedding day - he was the groom. She is family of the bride, and was so pretty.

A great way to spend the summer is watching Little League Baseball. I captured this shot of my grandson through a chain link fence with a 300mm zoom lens. I adore the look of determination on his face. He was the winning pitcher, so that makes this shot even more special.

This was the coolest lightning storm I've ever seen! The sky was lit up for over 1/2 an hour, and I caught this shot. Taken in Moscow, PA, April 2006.

This little fellow with his fake antena to fool his enemies will soon turn into a beautiful Monarch Butterfly.

I took this photo of my husband and I on our honeymoon in Savannah, Georgia last year! We stayed in the famous and beautiful historical district. This shot was taken with Kodak Professional Black and White film in the breathtaking Oak-covered driveway of the Wormsloe Plantation.

This picture was taken on our first family outing with our new Kodak camera. This was a birthday celebration for my daughter at the Texas State Aquarium. We love the dolphins and this picture turned out way better than my expectations. Even the water drops came out crystal clear!
