KODAK MOMENT of the Day

It was early morning on the beach. The life guards had just finished setting up things and there was still time to enjoy the peace and quiet of a new day.

This was taken in my backyard, April 2006. The detail, the dynamic range, the resolution achieved from a 5mp digicam, and getting getting closer than you could reasonably expect to the subject -- all made for a great shot!

Pictured are my boys, ages 14, 11 and 10 while vacationing in Sarasota, Florida, Easter 2006. I wanted to take your "typical" touristy pose next to this statue, and they just had to check out the view under that dress, so I couldn't resist!! So typical of boys!This just makes me smile!

This is my grandfather from my mother side. He was born on April 27, 1906. The picture was taken when we had the celebration for his 100th birthday, and why I called this picture "100 Years of Thoughts."

One of the first sunflowers of the summer. I love sunflowers, they just make me happy.

This is my daughter Robynn. She is 8 years old, and in this picture, is hiding crystals in our pool. We play games to see who finds the most of them and who can do it in the least amount of time. Since I usually win, she is looking up to see if she can catch me cheating. Geese -- she thinks that I'd do that. LOL

This picture makes me remember the day that these foxes shared an hour of the morning with me. They are a tiny bit of nature that is rare to see. It was taken last spring on the Lake Erie shore.

This is a picture of my two nephews, I wanted to capture their innocence in a special way that they will remember when they are grown up.

I took this picture of the flower girl on my cousin's wedding day - he was the groom. She is family of the bride, and was so pretty.

Called "Asian Delight" -- I just like the colors in this picture.

The colorful composition, and the birds enjoying the windsurfing scene, makes this picture special for me.

A great way to spend the summer is watching Little League Baseball. I captured this shot of my grandson through a chain link fence with a 300mm zoom lens. I adore the look of determination on his face. He was the winning pitcher, so that makes this shot even more special.

This was the coolest lightning storm I've ever seen! The sky was lit up for over 1/2 an hour, and I caught this shot. Taken in Moscow, PA, April 2006.

This little fellow with his fake antena to fool his enemies will soon turn into a beautiful Monarch Butterfly.

I took this photo of my husband and I on our honeymoon in Savannah, Georgia last year! We stayed in the famous and beautiful historical district. This shot was taken with Kodak Professional Black and White film in the breathtaking Oak-covered driveway of the Wormsloe Plantation.

This picture was taken on our first family outing with our new Kodak camera. This was a birthday celebration for my daughter at the Texas State Aquarium. We love the dolphins and this picture turned out way better than my expectations. Even the water drops came out crystal clear!

This is my friends' beautiful daughter playing outside in her yard. She did this little pose all by herself. I thought it was soooo adorable!!!

This picture was taken in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. It's my favorite place on earth and the reason I got into photography in the first place. I've visited the country several times and always got caught up photographing monkeys. I finally got myself a macro lens and decided to spend a day with frogs. This little guy was sitting peacefully and opened his eyes just a crack to say hello when I started to take his picture. He stayed that way for several minutes and then I left him alone to sleep again. I think this photograph speaks volumes about the variety of the country's ecology -- big and small.

When I saw this clock, I knew immediately that it will make a good picture. I waited for about 30 minutes until the right combination of people sat in front of it. I think the wait, despite my girlfriend's objections, was worth it. My son is at his Grandma's house wearing a hat that use to be mine when I was a little boy.

A view I thought was just beautiful- the stunning yellow petals of a sunflower against a beautiful blue Texas sky; macro setting on lens; sunny day; no flash used.

My new baby daughter, what could be more special!

This picture is of the September 11th Memorial of Lights in NYC. My fiance and I noticed hundreds of white things moving around in the beams of the light towers; as we approached they became even more apparent. My fiance said to me, "What do you think that is??" In the midst of my emotion, I responded, "Oh, it's like all of the souls!" We both got choked up. When we were closer, we could tell that there were hundreds of bugs flying around in the light. If you look closely, you can even see them in my picture. This picture makes me feel sad, but proud and so thankful that my loved ones escaped physically unharmed... September 11, 2001 - never forget!

This is my daughter, Lexa, cooling off in the middle of that scorching heatwave that seared much of the country during the summer of '06. Those cool colors are almost as good as air conditioning!

This is a picture of the Akashi Kaiko Bridge, the World's longest suspension bridge. I took the picture when I was on a tour of Osaka, Japan. It was taken with my digital compact camera at night when visibility of the bridge was very low.

This photo was taken a few days after Christmas 2005, at Spray Lakes, B.C. It was the first Christmas that my family was somewhere where they could go canoeing, and they did! The atmosphere was rather eerie and still, and I clicked many shots trying to capture that feeling. Canoeing is a peaceful way to enjoy the beauty of nature.

I took this photo of my 11 year old son, Daniel while visiting the Lincoln Monument. Like all the other tourists I was taking a photo of Lincoln in his chair when I happened to look over and saw Daniel engrossed in Lincoln's famed Gettysburg Address. I was thrilled to see that when I printed the photo, every word was easily readable.

This is a picture of my 9 year old son and his teammate taking a short break from another winning game!! I love how they're watching the huddle in the background.

This picture is special to me because it is of my younger brother, who I happen to think looks like James Dean. I thought it was a very suiting picture, because he is very interested and educated in the film industry, and feel the picture reflects his emotion of it.

This image was taken during the new year transition. It's a humorous reflection that even animals make diet resolutions too.

I love this photo of my daughter (8), peeking out from the leaf pile! I added a charcoal effect and soft paint wash. The picture was taken in October 2005, NE Ohio.

This picture was taken in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Jerusalem. The two old women are lit by the ray of light coming from the top of the church. I used a digital camera and Manual Tokina 24/2.8.

Making use of a relaxing chair, by the shore, is one of the more popular pastimes, at Pawleys Island, South Carolina.

Blueberries on a variety of blue squares. I seem to be in my "blue period" - everything I shoot lately is blue!

This dancer is Nadezhda Vostrikov. I am lucky enough to be allowed to photograph at studio rehearsals for Boston Ballet. Seeing what goes into a world class ballet performance this way, though the camera, has given me a entirely new appreciation of the art form.

To me, tulips represent the beauty of spring/autumn. This is one of my favorite shots of tulips.

I took this photograph in Lancaster, PA in June 2006. I was driving in the country and saw this father walking with his children thru the field -- they were so beautiful. What a display of family values. I love this photograph.

These four geese flew from the bottom of the mountain and gave me one of the best silhouette scenes ever.

This is my friends' daughter playing in her yard. I love how she's surrounded by all the pink. It's so fitting for her because pink is her VERY favorite color!

As a swimmer, I always crave water whether it's actually swimming in a pool or drinking it from a water fountain. Here in this photo my friend, Jang, is drinking water out of a water fountain as we were coming back from the pool, on a hot day in Rochester, NY, August 2006. This photo is special to me because it's funny and enjoyable. Summer could never be better without being cool and refreshed, especially with a splash of it on your face!

For this photo, I used minimum depth of the field, and tried to emphasize the long way in front of the snail. The photo was taken 04.2006, in Zagreb, Croatia.

I like the way the silhouette of the two surfers complements the silhouette of the bird. Taken at Huntington Beach, California in December 2005.

All the pictures that I "create" from nothing are special to me. I like to find different objects that you wouldn't expect to be in a "picture" and turn them into "art". I love playing in Photoshop -- it gives photographers an arena to enhance what they already thought was interesting. I really hope people enjoy viewing my work...it gives me such pleasure to create it! Enjoy!
