KODAK MOMENT of the Day

All the pictures that I "create" from nothing are special to me. I like to find different objects that you wouldn't expect to be in a "picture" and turn them into "art". I love playing in Photoshop -- it gives photographers an arena to enhance what they already thought was interesting. I really hope people enjoy viewing my work...it gives me such pleasure to create it! Enjoy!

It has simplicity. The fog, the lone boat, the background blurred away by the fog, letting the subject stand alone. Taken in Nov. 2005 at Sequim, WA.

In this photo, the colors are original -- I just desaturated the rest of the photo. This was taken at a wedding we happened upon, and I loved the woman's red shoes next to this car.

I was stuck by the beauty and color of these oyster mushrooms while wandering in the Palo Alto farmer's market.

This is a picture of my beautiful daughter, Diana. We run an airport, and this was taken just behind the hangar, while I was just snapping pictures.

This picture was taken at daybreak in Big Meadow, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia, June, 2006. A few photographers met there to photograph the does and fawns. It was a beautiful scene!

The colors are beautiful and the lines are wonderful. This picture was taken outside in my own garden. It is a tulip plant with curve adjustments to give it the color!

A fun shot with those fun candies for Valentine's Day!

This picture depicts the ancient feel to the majestic Amba Vilas Palace (Mysore, India), which belongs to the Wodheyar Kings. A tribute to them for encouraging reforms like woman's education in Mysore, and encouraging cottage industry.

This is a photo of a tree frog taken in Wayne County, N.C. Wildlife photograpy is my passion, and for now, this is one of my favorite shots.

This is my friend's daughter...10 years old. This was shot just before dusk. I love the sunshine in her hair.

On a boring Sunday in January 2006, my cousin and I went to a local college arboretum for a walk. We happened to see this clump of prickly pear cactus. The light was striking it at an oblique angle. So pretty...for cactus.

This photo was taken during a visit to a hospital for wild birds. Injured birds (often very rare) from all over the Europe end up in this "institution" and after a treatment they "fly back" to their natural habitat.

This picture is special to me because it illustrates why I love taking photos: grace and beauty. I took it in April 2006, at the Nasseau Coliseum, Long Island.

I took this picture at the Oceano Dunes in CA, near Pismo Beach. It was taken at a time when I was experiencing a great deal of stress at work. The dunes were trampled the day prior to the shoot, but after waking in the morning, they were completely absent of any footsteps or markings of any kind. The moral to me being that a good night's sleep can cure any ills.

This is one of my dearest friend's newborn. He was in a very deep sleep and easy to pose on the pumpkin. Settings: studio light and flash used.

This is a barn located a few blocks from my home. I applied the 'Orton Technique' to it in Photoshop. I like to dreamy qlow that this technique provides.

Just trying out a new macro lens and the first thing I saw -- a drip from my sink.

This is the Cabo Rojo Lighthouse in Puerto Rico. This point is suppose to have some of the most beautiful sunsets on the island. This particular day we didn't get a sunset, but spectacular clouds that made for some amazing photos.

On a trip to NYC, NY I couldn't wait to see the Empire State Building. I had only seen it in the movies, tv, etc. What a magnificent building. I knew it was BIG, but, did not fully realize how big until I strained my neck back as far as I could to see it all the way to the tippy-top as I looked up from street level.

This picture was taken during a recent trip to Australia.

We have to remember to work and stand together as one to have happness.

The picture was taken last year on a trip to Spain with my daughter.

There are several large photographs covering the lower part of windows at a Walgreens near where I work. They all depict images of employees and customers back in the day. The picture in this image is one of them, 'Delivery Boys, 1939'. I took a picture of the image and superimposed an X biker onto it that I shot previously. Thought it was interesting as he seems to be riding past or even out of the picture as he looks at the delivery boys.

This past year, my wife Kathy and I went to visit Washington DC during Memorial Day. It was very cloudy the day we went to the Iwo Jima memorial, and I never thought I would get a good shot of it. After about 30 minutes of us standing in front of the memorial, the clouds started to break -- a bright blue sky appeared -- and the sun cast a bright glow on the helmets of the figures. The memorial is just over-powering in size and emotion. As I look at this photo now, it reminds me of the dark nights we all spend waiting for the morning sun. Nights when all you can see are shadows. The glow of the sun reflecting on the helmets, shows a new day, safety, and lights the way for those who gave the supreme sacrifice.

Every year the University of Pennsylvania hosts the Penn Relays, the largest annual track and field event in the world. It's an amazing three day event. The events include prep schools, highschools, colleges, Olympic development teams, and masters events (40+, 50+ and 60+). Having lived in Philadelphia for 8 years, I'd always heard about but never experienced the magnatude of the Relays. Being told and being there are worlds apart. In this picture I love the feel of the athletes as they wait for the batton.

This brother and sister picture was taken in Tel Aviv, Israel.

I went out to the Poppy Fields at the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve, California. On the way I stopped by the side of the road and took some pictures of poppies. This single one caught my eye.

These handmade toys staring and smiling at us while on our visit to Puri, in Eastern India. They were just too cute to be ignored.

Sitting on my back deck, I find the best relaxation therapy in watching the chipmunks. This here is just comical as the little critter had stuffed so much into his mouth.

After the farmers reap the summer crops, convert the hay into bales, you always know the season is beginning to change. For the winds pick up and the sun setting puts a gentle glow on the one thing most take for granted as always there...the land. The rich soil that provides our everyday existence. I captured this image one evening from my porch in a small rural community called Jay, Florida. I just loved the tones the wind, dust and sun starting to fall left on the haybales and land.

Saw this in the window of a local restaurant. Shot during the day, I chose an angle that minimized the street reflections while giving it some composition.

Just before popping it on the grill to enjoy the flavor of it, I decided to snap a photo to enjoy the image of it, too :-)

This is a picture of my son, Reed age 9, "helping" me rake leaves. For some reason it took much longer to do the job. And you know what? I didn't mind a bit. When was the last time you jumped into a pile of leaves?

Colors of life - world around is is so vibrant and throbbing with colors - that makes me spellbound. Fall colors in Colorado has always attracted me. This picture is captured near Zapata Falls, CO in September 2006

I took this picture of my princess while we were on vacation in OBX, NC this June. She was excited that we all got caught in a rain storm while at the beach in Corolla. The orange rain jacket made a nice contrast to her blue eyes and black hair.

My husband and daughter love to go to California for vacation so they promised me a "West Coast Sunset" if I agreed to go. This was our last night there - even dragged the tripod along!

A beautiful November sunset, and it made for great silhouettes of our crabapples. No filters, it really did look just like this.

This is a sweet but special moment shared between mother and son. This little guy is turning one soon and just started walking!

It's the time of year to bring out the Christmas decorations. Sometimes I prefer a quieter atmosphere.

This picture was taken this past Memorial Day. Fog had descended upon the area, which is right on the ocean. The flags looked haunting as well as the man walking slowly, truly appearing to be reflecting upon the significance of the day.

I caught this leaf mid-color change in our yard in Oklahoma in October 2006.
