The picture was taken last year on a trip to Spain with my daughter.

There are several large photographs covering the lower part of windows at a Walgreens near where I work. They all depict images of employees and customers back in the day. The picture in this image is one of them, 'Delivery Boys, 1939'. I took a picture of the image and superimposed an X biker onto it that I shot previously. Thought it was interesting as he seems to be riding past or even out of the picture as he looks at the delivery boys.

This past year, my wife Kathy and I went to visit Washington DC during Memorial Day. It was very cloudy the day we went to the Iwo Jima memorial, and I never thought I would get a good shot of it. After about 30 minutes of us standing in front of the memorial, the clouds started to break -- a bright blue sky appeared -- and the sun cast a bright glow on the helmets of the figures. The memorial is just over-powering in size and emotion. As I look at this photo now, it reminds me of the dark nights we all spend waiting for the morning sun. Nights when all you can see are shadows. The glow of the sun reflecting on the helmets, shows a new day, safety, and lights the way for those who gave the supreme sacrifice.

Every year the University of Pennsylvania hosts the Penn Relays, the largest annual track and field event in the world. It's an amazing three day event. The events include prep schools, highschools, colleges, Olympic development teams, and masters events (40+, 50+ and 60+). Having lived in Philadelphia for 8 years, I'd always heard about but never experienced the magnatude of the Relays. Being told and being there are worlds apart. In this picture I love the feel of the athletes as they wait for the batton.

This brother and sister picture was taken in Tel Aviv, Israel.

I went out to the Poppy Fields at the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve, California. On the way I stopped by the side of the road and took some pictures of poppies. This single one caught my eye.

These handmade toys staring and smiling at us while on our visit to Puri, in Eastern India. They were just too cute to be ignored.

Sitting on my back deck, I find the best relaxation therapy in watching the chipmunks. This here is just comical as the little critter had stuffed so much into his mouth.

After the farmers reap the summer crops, convert the hay into bales, you always know the season is beginning to change. For the winds pick up and the sun setting puts a gentle glow on the one thing most take for granted as always there...the land. The rich soil that provides our everyday existence. I captured this image one evening from my porch in a small rural community called Jay, Florida. I just loved the tones the wind, dust and sun starting to fall left on the haybales and land.

Saw this in the window of a local restaurant. Shot during the day, I chose an angle that minimized the street reflections while giving it some composition.

Just before popping it on the grill to enjoy the flavor of it, I decided to snap a photo to enjoy the image of it, too :-)

This is a picture of my son, Reed age 9, "helping" me rake leaves. For some reason it took much longer to do the job. And you know what? I didn't mind a bit. When was the last time you jumped into a pile of leaves?

Colors of life - world around is is so vibrant and throbbing with colors - that makes me spellbound. Fall colors in Colorado has always attracted me. This picture is captured near Zapata Falls, CO in September 2006

I took this picture of my princess while we were on vacation in OBX, NC this June. She was excited that we all got caught in a rain storm while at the beach in Corolla. The orange rain jacket made a nice contrast to her blue eyes and black hair.

My husband and daughter love to go to California for vacation so they promised me a "West Coast Sunset" if I agreed to go. This was our last night there - even dragged the tripod along!

A beautiful November sunset, and it made for great silhouettes of our crabapples. No filters, it really did look just like this.

This is a sweet but special moment shared between mother and son. This little guy is turning one soon and just started walking!

It's the time of year to bring out the Christmas decorations. Sometimes I prefer a quieter atmosphere.

This picture was taken this past Memorial Day. Fog had descended upon the area, which is right on the ocean. The flags looked haunting as well as the man walking slowly, truly appearing to be reflecting upon the significance of the day.

I caught this leaf mid-color change in our yard in Oklahoma in October 2006.

I used a tri-pod with a one minute exposure to get this shot. I almost got hit by the train passing by.

I took this photo of Daisy, the family pet, while doing what she does best... sleep :-)

Visiting a Masai village in the middle of nowhere in Kenya, we brought balloons and crayons as gifts for the children. This girl had never seen a balloon or crayons before.

After a long while and several shots later, I finally captured the Robin with a berry! Dedicated to my friend Rhonda Maurer who I admired all of her bird images whom I lost in touch with :( I hope she sees this!

This is a picture of my daughter with my husband just after he'd picked her up from her afternoon nap. She was snuggling on his shoulder and didn't like her "daddy time" being interrupted!

Here's a picture of Bella, our malamute - wolf-like in appearance but soft in personality. What I like about this photo is that she is sitting in front of Mt. Shuksan in all of its grandness - secretly craving to run freely in this wide open space. Sometimes, don't you wish you too could run free? Taken at Mt. Baker Ski Resort, Washington - April 2006.

I was waiting for my friend at her soccer practice with my other friend - and I just started taking pictures. I had "this" idea, and it took me a while to get it just how I wanted it.

Dreidl is a traditional child's game played during Hannukah. The dreidl is spun like a top and the letters on each side determine what happens. Now you know what those chocolate coins are for!

I took this last Christmas 2005. It was Just a picture of ornaments on my tree - but I really liked how I ended up having a mirror effect.

I love the colors in this Poinsettia. It shows beauty that is often missed. It was taken in Woodinville, Washington, December 2006.

Rock Hill, South Carolina has a 9 day, annual festival called "Come See Me." The final day features a cookout, attended by thousands, culminating with a fireworks display.

Times Square is THE place to be on New Year's Eve. But wherever you find yourself as the calendar turns, here's wishing you love, happiness, and the best year yet!

This is my 2.5 year old daughter outside our front window right after our recent blizzard.

These are my fur-kids, who brighten each and every day. The front pug does not have eyes - she was rescued from a puppymill and due to horrid conditions, she lost her eyes.

It is dawn at the Golden Temple, at Armistar, India. A delicate "blue flower" is immersed in a prayer. I like her stance, her concentration and the way the early morning light provides a subtle contrast to the light blue cloth.

A photo of a bench on a cold January night in one of the urban parks not too far from where I live. The park is quite busy in the spring, summer and fall, but is quite desolate during our cold winters up here in Nova Scotia. The lighting from the tree really created slight but interesting patterns in the wind-blown snow.

This is a self-portrait of my inner child. We all have one and need to let him out to play every now and then. I may never get the clown make-up off my face though... HA! It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed it.
