KODAK MOMENT of the Day

The dogs on the coast in the Netherlands are beautiful.

I noticed these children enjoying the simple wonder of this fountain at Navy Pier in Chicago, and just had to capture the moment.

This picture is of a trolley going by in a busy downtown section of the ecclectic Ybor City, Florida. The colors are so vivid as it was taken just before the sun went down. I chose travel and place as the category, since it's such unique town.

I get teased about photographing fingers and toes but during last summer's trip to CA, I found my niece's first moments in the surf near Monterrey irresistable.

This was taken at Mesa Verde National Park, just as the sun was about to go down below the mesa. I had traveled there on a cold November day. The ranger was kind to let me wander around while he continued with the group.

I recently went to Cainsville Utah with about 35 riders to photograph them. Cainsville Utah is a very desolate place that is not even on the map. But, it is extremely well known for motocross riding and is featured in most major motocross movies. I was very fortunate to catch my friends riding at this incredible location.

This is my dog Peanut. I just love her ears, they make me laugh. I took this pic just a couple days ago in my backyard as she played with her ball. It was a great action shot as her feet are still in the air...lol

Those shoes tasted bad.

I am an amteur entomologist. This insect was taken at a nature preserve in Delmar, NY. This was taken using a macro lens with a ringflash.

This is taken at our neighborhood pool. It is great to see kids enjoying the water...

This Big Horn Sheep was the dominant male of the herd and led 10-12 others within 20 feet of where I set up to watch the sunset in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA.

Children celebrate the beginning of summer vacation on Lake Ontario...it reminded me of the carefree days of summer as a youth.

Historic Brattonsville, in South Carolina is a preserved 18th century farm, that was the site of a US Revolutionary War battle. Every year, there is a re-enactment of the Battle of Huck's Defeat. The re-enactors, such as this gentleman, fully emerse themselves in their roles.

This is a picture of my youngest daughter Maggie. I thought it was a great capture of her personality. I took this picture in April of 2007 at my home, just a few days before she broke out in Chickenpox!!

My kids love these things. They pick them every day on the walk to and from school, and scatter the seeds as they go ... our neighbors must love us LOL. This was taken in the school playground. 2-year-old JT had picked every one he could find in the area surrounding his favorite big climbing rock :)

A butterfly flew to a boy's hands at the Butterfly Garden in ARTIS Zoo in Amsterdam, Holland. I added texture and sepia tone in Adobe Photoshop.

For her 75th Birthday, we took my Mother-in-Law to Italy. She wanted to visit the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican on her Birthday. This photo was taken in March 2007, making her special Birthday wish come true!

While travelling inside Tibet this 11 year old girl invited me to enter her Yak hair tent. Her mother was cooking when I shot her portrait.

This was taken on a trip with my parents to Idaho. It was taken at Deep Creek by Malad, Idaho. This seagull flew in, swooped up some scraps from some fishermen, and flew off.

This picture was taken during my first visit to Chicago during the summer of 2006. I thought it related to the theme because people spent their whole day running through this water fountain and I thought capturing an innocent moment would not only bring the happiness to a picture, but also remind me of the people in Chicago.

It was early am...just at sunrise when I took this picture. I was hiking along the C&O Canal (Chesapeake & Ohio--which runs from Cumberland, MD to just outside Washington, DC). I spotted this guy just off the path. My theory is that the best animal captures are at eyeball level, so I plopped down on my belly in the wet grass to get the shot. He was a bit nervous at first, but he eventually relaxed into the pose you see.

How much fun can twin brothers have when mom is not looking? Here is our answer. Big sister was the real artist of this scene as she painted the boys during an afternoon in the sprinkler. This is the kids version of Family Fun!

The Arenal Volcano is an elusive subject, because most of the time it's covered with clouds making it very dificult to photograph. I took this picture in April 2006, while riding an aerial tram towards a viewpoint. Volcanoes are one of natures most powerful and beautiful manifestations.

This is a 30 second exposure, taken on one of the main thoroughfares, in my home town of Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA.

This was taken at a local county festival. I love the lights of the rides and the vendors - it's kind of like Vegas gone country. I chose the "events" category because festivals like these only happen during certain period of the year!

This is my 5 year old son Tommy; enjoying the Summer time.

The picture is taken in my garden in August 2007. I think this picture illustrates this year's summer weather in Denmark very well. Only a few days with warm and sunshine, but always with further outlook to rain.

Somtimes, it's the simple things in life

I capture the best moments at the beach. This one was taken at sunset at Kimmel Beach, in NW Indiana.

This is a special shot of grandpa and grandson taken one afternoon. This little fellow was cutting his first teeth and wouldn't go to his mother or me, but crawled up to grandpa. No sooner had grandpa picked him up, he feel asleep on his chest. Total contentment for both.

At first meeting these two hit it off. Complete trust and love, it was quite amazing.

On my very first trip to New York City, I brought along my brand new high zoom Kodak Z740 digital camera. I took this shot of the Statue of Liberty & it came out crystal clear. Isn't she beautiful up close!

I'm fascinated with flamingos, and when we are in Florida, I take tons of shots of them. I really like the way this one turned out, he is peeking at me.

My son and I are so close, that even though we're two, we are bonded together.

I live close to Yellowstone and frequently photograph this subject. On this day (7/31/07) I was showing friends around and had no intention of taking anything but snapshots. However...conditions were pretty good that day. Sometimes you just get lucky!
