I was trying to show tension in balance, as if the slightest movement would topple the glasses (they really were stacked that way, not photoshopped). The gelatin helps with that, making it look like gravity has gone crazy.

This is what my backyard and every backyard should look like when it snows. It is what Christmas needs to look like again. It makes you think of "home" when you see this picture.

I just love the little tree frogs... They're nature at it's cutest. Taken in the back yard, October 2007.

This was taken early morning at the Canadian Agility Championships. But in a private way, it seemed more moving than the competition.

There are moments hiking in the mountains that are difficult to capture because of the light and time of day. I was so pleased when everything worked in this photo. I took the picture September of 2007 in the mountains of Idaho. The lake is on the Norton Lakes trail in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. I think of this picture as a "thank you" to nature. What a gift!

This is my nephew Ryan's sax that he played all throughout high school. Capturing a close up of it shows it's age and how much it was played.

I wanted to look at an often photographed subject and try to get a look that's a little bit out of the ordinary, while also getting a sense of the bright lights of the big city. Taken in New York City, March 2008.

Tavon is a talented young man. He is a great student and avid video gamer. He posed for this picture on a really cold day and was a great sport about it.

This is of my friend Charles Espenlaub. He is a driver in the World Challenge series. He's a very talented driver.

My 12 year old daughter Darrien in the middle of taboggoning over Christmas holidays near our home. Children playing in the snow is what the holidays are all about.

My husband and I visited Kauai, Hawaii this past July for our 20th anniversary. We were walking on the beach and when I turned and looked back, I just loved this scene of my footprints following behind me!

I am a 17 year old kid and I got my start in photography when I was handed a 35mm camera and asked to document an event. I enjoy shooting from a photo journalism stand-point and I absolutly love to photograph things some might call trash. This picture is very special to me because it was taken in Rwanda, Africa. The people there hold a special place in my heart. We are in the process of adopting three Rwandan children.

Photo of my niece, McKenna, was taken in September 2007 at Clear Lake, Washington. McKenna has the most beautiful eyes and I love her expression.

I took this photo in a cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee. I like shooting photos in old cemeteries because of the old tombstones.

Having been unwell, I bought a white Calla Lily plant to cheer up my room (and myself). I'm mesmerised by the beauty, solemnity, elegance, shape and form of these graceful flowers. They have inspired my photography to hone in on the detail of the natural world as well as the bigger picture.

At a very early and quiet moment in the morning, this situation lasted for just one minute. Taken in the Drents Friese Wold in the provence of Drenthe in the Netherlands.

This picture was taken at Birch Creek Farm in New Jersey.

My teenage son; I love the intensity of his eyes.

This is the old Shot Tower which can be found protected inside a mall in Melbourne, Australia. It has a steel and glass structure encompassing it. I took this while on holiday in Melbourne late 2007. It was an old factory that produced lead shot.

This picture is special to me because I have always considered my foster Mom (from when I was 13 and still now at 31) to be my Angel. In this picture she is doing what she always does, and that is talking to the Heavens. I think it is very strong creativly especially with the simplicity of the antique look and the light on her face. I would be so very proud to show here that she is beautifull enough to me and the world for her picture to be picked.

This is Rocky, a special little guy who lives next door and longs to come over to play with my dogs. So far only his nose had made it.

This shot was taken at Hungry Valley, Gorman California. Most of the mountains burned down but this part of the Valley survived.

This was an idea I have had for nearly a year. I wanted to create a character that was a bit out of the norm. Future images of this character will be out in public doing everyday things, but only a child will see him. This is a self portrait of myself along with my daughter. It was taken in my living room studio. While I probably should be slightly embarassed by this picture, it just brings a huge smile to my face. My family has alot of fun together.

This photograph illustrates the beauty of some of the remaining farmland in New Jersey.

Dreaming of spring, in the middle of winter... This picture of an old abandoned corral playing host to new life helps me imagine that spring is coming.

I wanted to create a cool hot rod image.

This is a photo of my sister LeAnne. She is getting ready for a summer wedding here, but I loved how beautiful she looked before she was even ready--so I took her photo. The bright blues, greens, and pinks were just a bonus.

I truly love this photo. It was taken in the SMOKY MOUNTAINS in Tennessee. The blue hue of the mountains remind me of heaven and the path is the way there.

I snapped this photo of my nephew Eli while he was mowing the grass. I call the photo "Dennis the Menace" because Eli is always up to something, and he had a mischievous look at the time the photo was snapped.

This picture is special to me because it's the first picture I took with my camera. I took this picture at my house and it relates to the theme because it is artistic and creative to me.

This was taken at the Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul, MN. I liked the colors and the odd shape of this flower.

My sweet little niece-- having fun posing with an umbrella! She is always a delight to work with and just loves the camera! :)

Brennan had been working so hard on his "over the top motion" in pitching. In his best 3 innings of pitching baseball, yet, my friend caught the exact perfect pitch! He is only 9!

This picture was taken at our cabin. The nest was in a small tree with the early morning sun shining on the five perfectly placed eggs.

We were driving down a backroad on our way home and I snapped this picture. It just seemed to turn out! (At least for a spur of the moment snap shot.) These two are inseparable. Zeus (the dog) and Trint go to work together everyday and you rarely see them apart.

The Angel at Bass Hall has become an icon in Fort Worth Texas that represents the cities commitment to the Arts! I captured this image on a summer morning in 2007 when the big blue Texas sky was accented beautifully with wispy white clouds!

I took this picture (August 2007) at the El Zota Biological Field Station in Costa Rica during a herpetology field course. He was sleeping on a leaf when we found him, but woke up and hopped away as I snapped this picture.
