KODAK MOMENT of the Day

Knowing I love to watch the sunrise, my nephews asked me to join them in their sunrise fishing. This was taken on the beach in Jupiter, Fl in June.

Taken in the fair of May Weeks at town in Osnabrueck, Germany. It reflects the good mood of Spring.

This picture was taken in Brown's Canyon Utah. It is so clean as a photograph that I can see the red tailed hawk's eye lashes and the feather pattern in her face. These birds are pure elegant design and this photo shows the complexity of her head and face.

Photo Story: I think it is a photograph of an all-american boy that just came out great. The exposure, focus, light, color, etc. was just perfect. He's not looking directly into the camera...food on his face...missing tooth, it's real. It was taken at my grandson Connor's 1st T-ball game, April 2008.

I was hiking to Heron Pond at Colter Bay in the Tetons and I saw these folks. I liked the contrast of these two little people against the expanse of Jackson Lake with the Teton range in the background. 6/2008

This photo was taken of my mother's hand holding my grandson's feet when he was 3 days old. It was taken August 5, 2006, the day he came home from the hospital.

These little guys raced at the Montgomery County Fair, MD in August 2007. I just love how they're flying along, racing toward the Oreo that's the winner's reward.

I am in the Navy and this was taken off Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia during my first overseas deployment. I found Nemo while I was snorkeling and the picture was a big hit.

I love water droplets and I enjoy trying different backgrounds to capture patterns. I took this shot in my kitchen sink, using one of the magnets we received for our support. My family is gearing up for the Summer Olympics, and we'll all be watching.

This is my son competing in a triathlon. He's 11 years old and loves the sport. I took this picture after he had rounded the buoy. My husband and I also enjoy triathlons and we are thrilled that our children enjoy this life long sport as well.

Beijing, China - Fireworks outside Olympic Stadium, known as the Bird's Nest. The Beijing sky was filled with fireworks, 11,456 of them on the top of the stadium itself and 8,428 around the city. The XXIX Olympic Games began in truly spectacular style.

This was taken on one of our many road trips, it's the sight we see on every trip, Abby with her head out the window just enjoying the wind in her face and a hope in her heart that maybe...just maybe...she's going to Grandma's house!

I am trying to learn more about photography and taking pictures at random instead of always posing your subjects. I took this picture of my niece while at the park near my home. Although I got stuck under this jungle gym, this picture was worth the bruise.

This picture was taken my first time to Chicago's Navy Pier, when my husband and I went for a long weekend to visit relatives. I'm afraid of heights, but I actually went on this "big wheel" just to take pictures of the view when we got to the top!

I saw this old guy wearing mismatched clothes and angel wings, dancing in the park outside the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. He seemed to be in his own world, but his infectious smile spread to the whole crowd around him. Who says angels wear white robes and have halos?

This is a picture of a father, son and grandson. The photo was taken at a family gathering in Southern IL. With "Time" brings changes in family photo's.

This picture was taken in my parents backyard. The starlings nest in their old apple tree.I took the picture recently and was so amazed at the natural beauty available just a few steps outside of our own backdoor.

These beautiful Lotus plants were growing at the New York Botanical Garden. The sky is reflected in the water.

This picture reminds me of the sense of awe we felt during our visit to the Statue of Liberty. We took this picture last summer (2007) while we in NYC for my daughter Rachael's acceptance at Carnegie Hall of a National Scholastic Writing award. Rachael had the idea for the photo and I took the actual shot of her, my wife and youngest daughter. Every time I look at this photo it makes me wonder how immigrants arriving at Ellis Island must have felt when experiencing their own, personal Independence Day.

I love summertime when the butterflies are everywhere!

This is my tribute to the start of football season, which is a very big deal in my family. This is the football that we toss during halftime.

This photo was one of those "right place at the right time" photos, taken near the Kodak Colorado site. While these are obviously cultivated sunflowers, the flowers, and the sunshine, and the Rocky Mountains in the distance all demonstrate the abundance of color and variety in Nature.

This is 2 sets of triplets, all born on the same day, at the same hospital. The three boys in shorts are my sons. Now 4 years old, this photo was taken when we had the kids line up against the garage while moving cars in order to make the basketball goal more accessible. I think their expressions are priceless!

Picture was taken of a school bus going out on a 'dry run', in pouring rain, before the beginning of the school year. A watercolor painting effect was used to highlight the rain, fog, and accumulated water. I would like this photo art to be a reminder to all motorists to think about our precious children traveling in these buses, and to use special care when sharing the road with them.

This was taken on the Drive up to Fort Mountain State Park in North Georgia. I can't say how many times the words "Stop the Car!" were said..but it was a lot! Most brilliant colors I've ever seen!

This photo is of a brother and sister who live in Awer IDP Camp in Northern Uganda. I took it in January 2008 while shooting in the area for a non-profit.

Leaves are nature's beauty. This picture was taken at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, North Carolina, 2007. It's special to me because I love the fall time of year and in North Carolina the leaves are always pretty.
