KODAK MOMENT of the Day

This is my husband's and our son's hands. I think it's the sweetest thing!!!

This photo was captured in July of 2008. It was taken at our friends lake house in Ossipee, NH. My husband Craig and daughter Brooke were coloring together at this little school desk and the natural light coming in was just beautiful so I though what a perfect Kodak moment. This photo is particularly special to me because quality time with your kids so sooo important and my husband always seems to prove that in such special ways.

I love this old bag with it's water stain. If only it could talk and tell us of it's many adventures.

The entrance to The Alamo is adorned with a simple wreath and the word ?Peace? during the Christmas Season. The Battle of the Alamo, the most famous battle of the Texas Revolution, occurred between February 23 and March 6, 1836.

Light flooding into the chamber at the Knights Templar monastery in Tomar, Portugal, created a special moment. This was taken in October 2007 while I was traveling through Portugal.

I saw this view of Taj Mahal from the Yamuna river end in a misty morning hour. I framed it alongwith the boat to add beauty to this beautiful monument of the world.

Paris is called the city of lights for a reason. By day, the French capital is one of the most beautiful in Europe. By dusk, that beauty is awash in light and makes for some pretty spectacular photography. On one such night, I walked the banks of the Seine and took it all in. Sitting along the banks of the Seine is the sprawling Louvre complex. The Louvre is one of Europe's finest museums and houses the art-world's most famous piece- Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa. I.M. Pei's controversial Pyramid forms the entrance to this former palace and stands in stark contrast to the classical architecture of the original buildings.

It was a lucky shot being in the right spot @ the right time across the the Thames by the Eye I think this more arty because of the nature of the photo

I am from Moscow, Russia. After a long time away when I returned to Moscow this New Years I saw it in a totally different perspective. As a tourist. Which felt really strange.

Photo Story: The photo was taken at Machu Picchu high in the Peruvian mountains in the summer of 2006. The llama, an area local, happened to wander into the frame and was the perfect accent to the awesome scene.

This picture is my son braving the sea at Perranporth Beach, Cornwall, July 2008. He turned round and shouted, "it's freezing," while laughing at the same time and I just snapped it. I love this picture with the sea all rough and the blue sky makes it perfect.

This is a beautiful sunset picture that I took while I was on vacation this summer at Fort Myers Beach. It was 4th of July, so the beach was packed, and everyone was standing out on a sandbar that had appeared in the gulf.

july 4th is one of our town's most exciting days. we have the best fireworks in central IL!

Old Havana is a warren of ambling streets and alleys. It is here where you will find the ?real? Cuba and the one removed from the tourist sites. Old folks sit behind wide-open doors and windows and peer out upon the street-scenes. Boys coo, in that typical latin fashion, at girls and women that pass by. Kids, shirtless and shoeless, run amok kicking rocks and cans up and down the street. Baseball, all the rage on this island, is played in the streets with fashioned bats and balls. Framed by old and dilapidated art deco structures and beat-up antiquated American cars, this is the ?real? Cuba.

Photo Story: Taken as my family was leaving the 85th birthday party for my step-father. My husband let our nephew "be in charge" of one of his cameras and we never saw his face for entire event. Our granddaughter was his sidekick and model :)

These are the rocks at less than one mile from the Capri coast in Italy. Picture taken in May 09.

The rock formation on this photograph fascinates me - how long has it taken to get the details that is ingrained there? I took this in Amadores in Gran Canaria. I was on holiday.

Photo Story: Wupatki National Monument near Flagstaff, Arizona. Wandering around the ruins made you really think about what it must have been like for the Anasazi people that inhabited this area for hundreds of years.

This picture captures the serenity of the west as seen in cowboy films of the 1950's. It was taken on site at the Navaho reservation in southern Utah in 2006. The natural red rock buttes are known for their majestic beauty.

This was shot in May 2009 at Lakshmana Temple, Khajuraho, MP, India while a tourist was observing the beauty of medieval art and erotic sculpture. This temple was built during AD 930-950. Lakshmana Temple stands in the heart of a large cluster of temples near Shiv Sagar. This temple is the earliest and best preserved of the mature Chandella temples. It is dedicated to the triple -headed four armed Vaikuntha form of Vishnu.

A beautiful and very cold winter morning in Grand Teton National Park. This is an HDR blend of 3 images. Shot on 1/19/2009.

I shot this silhouette at Khuri sand dunes, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India during desert festival in Feb,09. I liked the the way the camels owners were taking back their camels in the evening.

On this particular day I was taking pictures of Heron's and other birds and just as I was about to leave, several of them all came within ten feet of me. It was taken in the afternoon but I wanted it to appear as if it was taken around sunset.

This picture was taken on our Honeymoon at Poovar Islands in Kerla, India. We took it on the sunset boat ride in the backwaters.

Took this image with my modified IR camera during low light of my daughter playing in the surf. The reflection was like a mirror and the colors came out so surreal.

On a visit to Hawaii, my wife and I had this view from our Waikiki beachfront hotel.

Pictured is Nikki, one of our 5 month old English Cocker Spaniels. We love to take our dogs down to the Niagara River to swim on beautiful summer nights, and she decided to "perch" on the rock and enjoy the beautiful sunset with us!

It's my first try at photographing a moving ferris wheel. Taken at the Pima County Fair, April, 2009. People travel from around the state to attend this annual event outside Tucson, Arizona.

This photograph captures the excitement of flying high on a carnival ride taken at the state fair in New Jersey.

Photo Story: Sarasota County Florida Fair, March 21, 2009. I took this picture just after my granddaughter showed her 4H pig in the swine show.

I just really liked the way this had a timeless fair quality to it.

The last night that Astroland Park in Coney Island had its doors open. It will be missed by all.

This is our first anniversary picture in Costa Rica 2009. I met his family. There is total love in this picture.

Photo Story: This shot was taken in Morocco just outside a mosque in Marrakech's medina in April 2009. it captures the determination, innocence and carefree nature of children -- all that matters in this moment is the game. Plus, those are some pretty impressive moves in flip-flops!

Only five-years old and he already hates kisses.

I set this shot up by telling Dad to kiss Mom. I had no idea I would get these great expressions from these three- look how the boys are all grossed out but their daughter is just loving the romance! Awwwww!!!!

I took this some time back in Connecticut. The story goes like this. These are die hard athletes and nothing stops them. It had rained for hours but was expected to be a nice day, so the race was on. The one in the blue thought he knew everything and tried to ride his bike through the mud. All the others knew enough to carry their bikes through it. But - check out the spectator on the top right. He got it too - the fence caved in from the crowd pushing to see what happened - and down went the guy in red.

I don't own a car, and I use my bicycle to get everywhere, including my daily commute. Bikes are a way of life, and this photo captures the dynamic excitement that I feel when I swing myself into the saddle. Speed feels different when you are facing the cold wind of New England winters...

I keep coming back to Paris. Over the years, I have exhausted the tourist sites and now want very little to do with them. For me, Paris is all about the local scene and ducking the tour buses. Whether kicking around the now Middle-Eastern neighborhood of Belleville, striking up conversation over a Stella in Montmartre or watching the day lazily drift by at a café in the Marais, Paris is better explored sans map. The beauty of this city lies not only in its architectural legacies but in the smiles and often sarcasm of its people.

Photo Story: This medieval city in Nepal was my favorite part of the trip. Everywhere you looked there was a photo op and this old bike was resting perfectly near these colorful doors.

Bikes from a local Harley Owners Group (HOG). Harley-Davidson a true icon all over the world!

I was in Chicago for the weekend. It was one of those times when New York City, where I live, was becoming too overwhelming and I needed out. I was walking around the downtown area at night and came upon an image of Buckingham Fountain (included in my photo posts) in Millennium Park. Having set up my tripod and cameras, I began shooting. After a short while, I was approached by an inquisitive homeless man who began asking questions about what I was doing. A conversation ensued and over the course of over 2 hours, I had been given a tour of the area's nooks and crannies, including Crown Fountain (shown here),.....and Midwestern hospitality.

I really loved the way the flowers were all reaching up for the sun. They were all so happy and colorful looking!!! Taken at Landmark Park, Dothan, Al. June 2008, mid-day!

It occurred to me that I had some leftover Moda quilt fabric matching the gerbera daisy colors, so I put it work as a backdrop!

This picture was taken yesterday morning as I was going to work. I thought it was so pretty with the dew on it.

Different can live together. I took this photo in Israel, in the spring time.
