Photo Story: The sun was setting and our shadows were cast against the brick wall. We started making shadow puppet and I started taking pictures of them. All of a sudden, he reached over and kissed the side of my head, and I happened to be snapping a shot. This photo was taken at Rutgers University (New Brunswick, NJ).

A photo of a Dutch windmill in the January snow. Taken in a little place called Diever, in the provence Drenthe, Holland.

My friend's son and his football buddies were hamming it up for the camera at a football scrimmage. I love how each and every one of them look so entirely different from the others.

The local museum in Grand Rapids, MI stayed open after hours one night. The whale skeleton has been a "huge" part of the museum since I was a child.

This is a photo of my son who selflessly gives of his time to pose for me when ever I ask. I am blessed to have such a wonderful son. This is one of my favorite pictures of him. Photo taken in my garage using only natural light.

This picture was taken in Katmai National Park, during a bear viewing trip to Alaska in 2008. There were plenty of photo ops watching the brown bear run back and forth eating salmon.

This is so special because it shows my daughters excitement and a sparkle in her eyes. I like that his "gift" is the wildflowers. It was taken just at dusk in July 2009.

Just playing in the snow.

Horses being mustered through a creek at Glenworth Valley, Central Coast, NSW, Australia. Captured with Nikon D3X DSLR and Nikkor 70 - 200mm VR lens. I have converted the original RAW image with NIK Silver Efex. I've chosen Nature rather than Animals/Pets, as my category, because the image, to me, is not just about the horses themselves, it's about the raw nature of their actions/reactions, their interaction with drovers (musterers) and the environment, tones and textures in a cacophony of sound and energy.

To me, this is a perfect display of why they do what they do... This firefighter is with his brand new baby girl. He's velvet over steel.

This picture is of my son bending strings on his SG guitar, was taken in our living room. It was shot on Kodak TMax and enhanced a little with Photoshop.

This is the Wollman Rink in Central Park, NY. It's nice to see the skaters enjoying winter activities against the backdrop of the city buildings.

The play of the lighting on the tree combined with the full moon are very compelling.

I captured this action during a camel race competition at the Desert Festival, Jasalmer, Rajastrhan, India on 9.2.09.

My son was quietly sitting at the table drawing with his new markers and I asked him what he was drawing. "Just an eagle," he said. It was a moment that just had to be captured.

This is the closest representation of what I actually saw! This is a color photograph, but the January fog zapped most of the color from what the eye sees. Taken in January, 2009, Barksdale AFB, Shreveport, LA. For me, this is nature at it's most mysterious and beautiful state.

This was taken from my holiday apartment balcony on a rainy day in London. I originally composed the shot and waited for a colorful umbrella to finish it.

This was shot at Manna, around 25kms from Badrinath. This is the border of India and China.

After a day of hiking on the mountain we were treated to a spectacular display of lightning. And a challange for me to get a decent photo of the cloud. It was taken from top of Mt. Nebo in north west Arkansas. The storm was close to Lake Dardanelle. Equipment: Kodachrome 64 slide film. Minolta 201, 50mm lens, rubberband, button and a small stick. This is an awesome display of nature's power in just one thunder storm.

I took this picture while vacationing in Bodrum, Turkey. I love traveling to different countries because you meet so many interesting people - like this friendly old man.

My English cocker spaniel dog Harvey hates to take his monthly bath, you can see that from his eyes...it's hard being beautiful!

A special photo because my son is enjoying the weather. We took it in front of our house during winter break. The theme was winter break fun.

I took that picture in a wool shop as my wife was looking for different balls of wool. Place: Osnabrueck, Germany.

Taken on the morning of February 27, 2010 at Durand Eastman Park in Rochester, NY.

I was amazed to see the time this photographer took trying to capture the reflections of Taj Mahal and to get the frame he liked.
It was captured at Agra, UP, India in 2009.

We saw this mother elephant and her baby near Little Vumbura, Botswana in May, 2008.

Ferhadija Street is one of the most popular streets in Sarajevo, Bosnia. The photo was taken late at night while some people were still on the street.

I took this shot at a local tulip garden in Holland, Michigan. I love the vibrant colors.

The picture was made on April 18, 2009 at 22:02 in the backyard of my grandparents. This photo is special because all the tricks were made from the camera and with an extra light.

At a local auto show I very much enjoyed viewing the many antique cars; but, it was the details that most intrigued me.

Lovely morning at the Presidio in San Francisco. Loved the slight burst of sun starting to burn off the fog in the trees.

It was shot at Sum sand dunes, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan on the last day of Desert Festival. There was sudden change of weather and the sky was full of clouds and it was about to rain. One can feel the importance of rain in desert area. I saw a group of people's curious expressions in anticipation of rain and captured this frame.

I was trying to come up with a self portrait that would sort of say who I am. I think this may go a good ways to achieving that. :)

This picture was taken inside the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris during my semester abroad.

My daughter named this bunny Easter. This little guy posed just like a pro.

This was one of several visitors we had last spring to the lilac bush across the street from our home. I just zoomed in and took the picture hoping it would stay still long enough to get the shot. I took it with my Kodak camera, which I love!

I think that this picture is very neat. It shows the rounded bumpy texture of the basketball that most people don't really pay attention to.
