This image shows a whole new world created in a water drop .

This photograph was taken at Monmouth Park Racetrack in New Jersey. The photo finish is special to me because it's of the winning horse I bet on to win. :)

This was taken in a place that is special to my heart in Norfolk, England. Taken July 2009.

I think this Moment speaks for it's self. The photo was taken at the Chesapeake Bay shoreline, Shady Side Maryland in June 2008.
The Osprey arrive here each March, and all have successfully raised 2 to 3 chicks. Thankfully, the Osprey has rebounded after being poisoned by DDT and other pollutants.

This is Spot, a Leopard Gecko. He is so curious and loves to climb everywhere. I let him out in my garden everyday - and this one day while we were out there, he climbed up into my lap while I was reading, and this is the photo I took.

This is my mom's cat. It went outside and was trying to find the way back in. Animals, they know their home and they understand love.

Ever watch a baby play with a toy? The joy they get out of such simple things always amazes me. This is a photo of my son. He was about 6 months old when this was taken. His expression while he played was and still is priceless to me. :~)

I took this photo of my grandson, Landon, while he was receiving photo-therapy for jaundice after his August 2004 birth.

I did this water drop refraction for the newest member of our family.

We had the hardest time getting this little one to give us any expressions - she just did not want to let Mom go. We tried everything, so I had to take what I could get, when I could get it - with no time to compose.

Watching the Thunderbirds at Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico, was a memorable moment for my family and me. Our best regards to the brave men and women serving abroad in the armed forces.

This was taken in the fields behind my house. It's special to me because it's my daughter running through the overgrown grass with her unicorn. I loved the tree in bloom as well as the rich colors.

This picture was taken during my daughter's pre-k graduation ceremony while the children were being led onto the stage. I was able to capture one of her classmates intently searching the crowd for her mother. Her natural beauty and innocence was captivating.

I am one to take a lot of pictures because I believe there is no memory more special than a picture. When I gave a copy to her teacher she commented that she was sure her family would love it because she was not sure they had a camera.

I wanted to capture the famous St. Basil's Cathedral at night, so I set up my tripod and waited patiently. This photo proved to me that good things come to those who wait.

Wait, I have to smell the daffodils.

This photo shows the Milky Way over Double Arch in Arches National Park, Utah. Night photography is addictive. The stars were vivid on this night, and we decided to light the arch with a handheld flashlight to give the sky even more perspective.

I took my daughter to Coney Island last week and took a few shots of the boardwalk. I like this one because I get a sense of the fun waiting to be had in the summer when the gate opens up.

I just received my new camera as a Mother's Day gift, and this was one of the first photos I took. It was taken without a tripod...guess I must have been 'super steady' that day.
The dandelions had not been rained on yet and were quite full--and the morning dew had them looking like diamonds in a jewelry shop window.
When I blew this image up, I thought it had an outer space look to it.

The simplicity of daisies lure me. They were loved by my grandmother and have always been special to me, and planted in any garden I've ever had. This particular group came into bloom on the day my daughter assembled her friends by my garden to take photos before going to their Junior Semi-Formal.

This picture was taken in the Summer of 2009. These two brave young souls are enjoying the beauty of Grand Canyon, South Rim.

These ferns are abundant in the Cathedral Grove, which is a wonderful forest on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

I was at my niece's ballet recital. This is the youngest class of the ballet company. I love how they are all doing something different. Just too cute.

I found these stones along the edge of a field in Iowa. I love the fact that the farmer took the time to create something of beauty from what would normally be thrown aside.

This photograph was taken in northern Tanzania while I was studying abroad during my junior year of college. For two weeks, each student from our group lived with a Maasai family in the plains just south of Arusha, Tanzania. Our group was present during a day-long wedding ceremony that brought together Maasai families from all over the region. Upon arriving at the ceremony and discovering another student's digital camera, my host brother became the de facto photographer.

While vacationing on Hilton Head Island I came across this man fishing in the ocean.

Who can resist the merry go round. My husband & I went last night because we hadn't been in a long time.

Our Country's Flag never fails to stir me. While vacationing in Cincinnati in June 2009, I went to the Union Terminal to shoot this architectural gem. The huge Flag was an unexpected treasure.

This is very special to me because it was taken on our last visit to Pensacola Beach, FL before we moved from there in Feb 2010. Now I hear that the beach is getting oil from the Gulf disaster and that it may get worse. I hope that the sea life don't despair, and the beach can remain as beautiful as the day my son found this delicate starfish.

Brood parasitism. I was holding my camera above my head and didn't notice the size difference until I reviewed all of my photos. Taken 6-4-10 in Kingsville, OH.

Leilani loves her Ed Hardy shoes, and I love the way Robert captured them.

The corn is growing very fast these days, almost reaching the sky.

This picture was taken after the birth of our first child, by our student nurse, John Paul. My husband Joe was admiring our new son, Drew.

My first wedding photography! The picture was taken on May 15th on the beach in Noordwijk, Netherlands. My eye was drawn to their feet. The bride changed shoes, so her shoes wouldn't get dirty!
The picture is different than the 'standard' wedding picture, that's why it relates to the theme: creative!

This is called boron. After putting sindur on the goddesses, married women smear each other with it. The tradition comes from the Bengali custom where married women would apply sindur on each other when one of them was leaving home.

I loved how demure the bride looked in this shot. She was a real little sweetheart and a pleasure to work with.

My daughter Lena has just got married. She is happy. And me, too.

This train is part of my daily commute, but the sight still captures my attention each and every day.
Taken on Feb 5, 2010 with a Canon Rebel XS, ISO 100, F22, a 30 sec exposure. The colour effect was achieved by changing the colour levels using GIMP (www.gimp.org).
