Why is this picture Special to you?
A: This picture is special because I was in a Dirt bike track near me and the idea dawned to me as I saw the sunset. It was one of those spur of the moments shots.

A: I took this in Feb 2009 at the Texas Moto-Plex Rosenberg, TX

How does it relate to the theme selected?
A: This is related to the theme because its about people and the things they love doing.

...a scene of deep peaceful stillness. Taken on a hot summer afternoon, in a little harbour on the south coast of England.

Fun with some balloons, a lovely summer day, and my niece. We have such a fabulous time making memories with the camera. ;)

Beautiful day on our first trip to Victoria, British Columbia. This is the gorgeous inner harbor with the historic Empress Hotel in the background.

It's special because I caught it frame before the water flowed down on my brothers head. I took it in August of this year. The water is still in the same shape of the balloon but the balloon is busted as you can see. My brother got all wet.

This is the Castle Hill Light in Newport, Rhode Island. I love lighthouse shots, and this one is special because of it's proximity to the ocean and the beautiful untouched rocky seashore that surrounds it.

A small local Rodeo was held at Tyalgum - but the riders all had big hearts and lots of courage.

Taken after a heavy rain created 'rivers' running down the sides of our street. The boys could not resist running through them as a much gentler rain fell down on them.

I captured this beautiful Butterfly in a railway garden at Dhanbad, India on 31.3.10.

This is a favorite spot for us to visit. This picture is taken at Seabright State Park in Santa Cruz Ca., and taken in Aug 2009. It is a view of nature at it finest with the waves crashing against the breakers.

I was driving on a mountain road in Yellowstone and came across this bear walking in a field. My first and only picture of a bear turned out great!

This is a chance catch. Untouched photo. It is artistic and creative because the water spray looks like a heart. I took this in my backyard on April 18,2010

Our house is 70 years old. Some would think this corroded sink ugly. I find it quite beautiful. An old house or building can be treasure trove.

Wasps too, feed on flower nectar and play a role in pollination.

In a small village in Namibia we stopped for petrol and I saw a 4 x 4 coming down the street heading for the local school with a group of kids in the back, When they saw I was photographing them they all waved ... I think it made their day

I love the feel of a city at night. This is a photo of the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington taken on February 5, 2010. I first shot this scene in the daylight and planned on coming back at night to shoot again. I was so glad I did.

I was with my niece at Liberty State Park on 9/11/03 to observe the tribute in lights to the World Trade Center and remember how all of our lives were changed by the events of 9/11/01.

My husband Danny and I raise bucking bulls in Texas. He makes them easy to handle by talking to them like they are puppy dogs. This is Damascus, my husbands favorite bull.

On way to Varanasi by road, I saw this activity in a village during golden hour in the morning. I liked the colors and country life. The ladies are threshing the paddy crops with the help of bullocks to get paddy grains out. This is conventional thresher. Location: A village near Topchanchi, Jharkhand, India.

Arrived late to Peggy's Cove Lighthouse, but just in time to catch the sky afterglow following the sunset. I was amazed by blues of the sky -- not your typical oranges/reds of most sunsets.

This is a photo of my daughter (middle) and her two friends. As I was walking back to the car to get a new lens, I turned around and saw this. I captured them in a moment when they were really themselves. It was perfect.

These three dogs belong to my son, myself, and my daughter, and couldn't be more different. They all want to come in after playing in the yard.

This is my son. I love the way the freckles are sprinkled across his nose and cheeks, his soulful brown eyes and the way the hair falls on his forehead. This was taken the last day of summer vacation, the next day he started 3rd grade.

As the 2009 Albuquerque balloon fiesta approaches I was looking at the shots I took last year. I just loved the hue of the sky and all of the colors from the various balloons as they rose into the sky. A beautiful sight!

This woman was photographed in a Fellah village: Drejat, in the Negev area (southern of Israel).

This is six month old baby Tabitha, with her big sister Jessica at the piano. Tabitha has showed an interest in the piano since she was born, and loves sitting at it.

This picture was taken on a Sunday drive, from the front seat, of the back window where Jack was catching a breeze. Jack is a one year old terrier and I just love how the picture captures the freedom and intensity in his eyes. The big blue Wyoming sky is in the background.

This is my son after he has had his nightly shower. On this night, he was all bundled up trying to get warm. I love the way the black and white make his hair and eyes really stand out.

Every autumn, nature's colors are on display in the higher elevations of Colorado where aspen groves flourish. A polarizing filter helps nature when the colors are more subdued, as they were this year.

Khattak is a swift martial sword-dance performed by professional dancers from the Khattak tribe of Pashtuns in Afghanistan and Pakistan. With Swords in their hands and feet in the air, this set of performers danced to the drummers drumbeat which slowly increased in pitch with matching increase by the tempo of the performers.

This is a frog that had been taken captive by my younger sisters. I took the photo after one great leap of faith in an attempt to escape.

Burano Italy is a magical place. It's full of small canals with colorful boats, and pastel row homes all in one frame of the camera. The water reflections are stunning and worth the day trip from Venice. I feel in love with this place!

Inspired by the late master portraitist Irving Penn, I asked my ex-history professor to pose in a similar fashion to emulate the famous 1957 photograph of the late Pablo Picasso.

I love fall colors! The way the light was illuminating these leaves was beautiful.
