KODAK MOMENT of the Day

Stacks of hay stored for the winter that lies inevitably ahead.

This actually stared out as a serious self family portrait, but we got creative, then silly, then laughed to hard we couldn't take pictures. We had "prop" hats, but I'm wearing my wife's hat and she's wearing mine.

On way to Varanasi by road, I saw this activity in a village during golden hour in the morning. I liked the colors and country life. The ladies are threshing the paddy crops with the help of bullocks to get paddy grains out. This is conventional thresher. Location: A village near Topchanchi, Jharkhand, India.

Arrived late to Peggy's Cove Lighthouse, but just in time to catch the sky afterglow following the sunset. I was amazed by blues of the sky -- not your typical oranges/reds of most sunsets.

As Autumn arrives we all Dream about the perfect place to be when the leaves change color... This was taken in southern Maine!

This is a photo of my daughter (middle) and her two friends. As I was walking back to the car to get a new lens, I turned around and saw this. I captured them in a moment when they were really themselves. It was perfect.

These three dogs belong to my son, myself, and my daughter, and couldn't be more different. They all want to come in after playing in the yard.

This is my son. I love the way the freckles are sprinkled across his nose and cheeks, his soulful brown eyes and the way the hair falls on his forehead. This was taken the last day of summer vacation, the next day he started 3rd grade.

As the 2009 Albuquerque balloon fiesta approaches I was looking at the shots I took last year. I just loved the hue of the sky and all of the colors from the various balloons as they rose into the sky. A beautiful sight!

This woman was photographed in a Fellah village: Drejat, in the Negev area (southern of Israel).

This is six month old baby Tabitha, with her big sister Jessica at the piano. Tabitha has showed an interest in the piano since she was born, and loves sitting at it.

This picture was taken on a Sunday drive, from the front seat, of the back window where Jack was catching a breeze. Jack is a one year old terrier and I just love how the picture captures the freedom and intensity in his eyes. The big blue Wyoming sky is in the background.

This is my son after he has had his nightly shower. On this night, he was all bundled up trying to get warm. I love the way the black and white make his hair and eyes really stand out.

Every autumn, nature's colors are on display in the higher elevations of Colorado where aspen groves flourish. A polarizing filter helps nature when the colors are more subdued, as they were this year.

Khattak is a swift martial sword-dance performed by professional dancers from the Khattak tribe of Pashtuns in Afghanistan and Pakistan. With Swords in their hands and feet in the air, this set of performers danced to the drummers drumbeat which slowly increased in pitch with matching increase by the tempo of the performers.

This is a frog that had been taken captive by my younger sisters. I took the photo after one great leap of faith in an attempt to escape.

Burano Italy is a magical place. It's full of small canals with colorful boats, and pastel row homes all in one frame of the camera. The water reflections are stunning and worth the day trip from Venice. I feel in love with this place!

Inspired by the late master portraitist Irving Penn, I asked my ex-history professor to pose in a similar fashion to emulate the famous 1957 photograph of the late Pablo Picasso.

I love fall colors! The way the light was illuminating these leaves was beautiful.

This is my little cousin, I named this picture Buttons, because this is his nickname and he is cute as a button.

The misty, mossy Sitka spruce forests of the southern Oregon coast are enchanted. Taken February 2010.

The only fun in raking leaves is in getting a chance to throw a few of them around. My daughter took a minute to enjoy a leaf shower.

This image was shot this spring in Sedona, AZ. This is Cathedral Rock being reflected at the Cresent Moon Ranch. These red rocks are just amazing

Jenny has the most beautiful smile.. we had her laughing so hard she cried.

I was asked to shoot at a local school during the visit of a Scottish poet during several classes. At one of the breaks we had a brief tour of the school and I saw this. The signs, not shown, said "Take a Pair, Leave a Pair". Thought the variety and colors of the boots looked interesting against the abstract painting in the background.

I'm a Building Superintendent in a Manhattan Condo. I supervise all the work that takes place in the building. This worker was immersed in his work, but he paused a brief moment so I could take this photo.

Buttermilk Falls is located outside of Ithaca, NY on the buttermilk creek. The creak provides a wonderful series of cascades with each prettier than the next.

I loved the way this moss looked like falling stars!

Nothing says fall like a fresh picked apple. I loved how it was slightly blemished, crooked stem and dew drops still on it.

If you knew Steven, the intense rugby player, you would smile because he is the most laid back teenager I've ever met. It surprised me to capture this side of him.

This was taken at the Sacramento Rugby Kick off Tournament for HS teams this past year. He plays for Jesuit HS in Carmichael CA which has been nationally ranked for many years. He is only a freshman!

Never Give Up is a BIG theme for me right now, as I start my photography Practice. Whenever I feel frustrated I look over at this photo and of course, keep going.

I was fascinated by the grouping of these fungus and just had to take this picture.

I took this picture as summer was coming to an end, and school was almost back in session. I just had to enjoy the last of it.

I took this picture in the first sunlight of the day after Laxmi-Pujan i.e. Diwali.

The picture is very special to me as it reveals the thousand years old Indian traditions which is being followed still in India. Also, it relates to the people that have been following this tradition for these many years. Hats off to them.

Driving along a dirt road in Idaho - first thing in the morning. I saw this deer skylined on the ridge with the moon just going down. I yelled at my buddy... "STOP THE CAR!" - jumped out and snap. Gotcha!

One fine early morning, I went to the beach with my camera to catch the lazy sunrise. My daily catch was very dull, but I found two fisher men with their good catch coming on shore. I started clicking, and luckily got this shot. The great shadows added the flavour.

I've grown up with these trees – they are a part of me.

This photo of a vintage US Navy plane was taken at an air show in New Symrna Beach, Florida. It was a beautiful sunny day that really showcased the craftsmanship of this great warbird.
