KODAK MOMENT of the Day

I took this picture in the first sunlight of the day after Laxmi-Pujan i.e. Diwali.

The picture is very special to me as it reveals the thousand years old Indian traditions which is being followed still in India. Also, it relates to the people that have been following this tradition for these many years. Hats off to them.

My redheaded nephew, Skyler, in the early summer of 2010, at his home in Arkansas. He's an awesome little model.

Driving along a dirt road in Idaho - first thing in the morning. I saw this deer skylined on the ridge with the moon just going down. I yelled at my buddy... "STOP THE CAR!" - jumped out and snap. Gotcha!

One fine early morning, I went to the beach with my camera to catch the lazy sunrise. My daily catch was very dull, but I found two fisher men with their good catch coming on shore. I started clicking, and luckily got this shot. The great shadows added the flavour.

I've grown up with these trees – they are a part of me.

This photo of a vintage US Navy plane was taken at an air show in New Symrna Beach, Florida. It was a beautiful sunny day that really showcased the craftsmanship of this great warbird.

I loved the colors of these ancient pots that I found in a Mission while on vacation in Tucson, Ar. I will never forget the beautiful, and awesome colors.

This is a photo of my group of friends wandering around Venice, searching for Piazza San Marco, during Carnivale, February 2010. Judging by the fact that there were no other people on this path we were not walking in the right direction yet.
I like this photo because it reminds me of the confusion of the night, but the feeling of contentment because I was seeing Venice with fresh eyes.

We recently took a trip back to Iowa to visit family & friends. In all I took hundreds of great photos, but this one is my favorite. It speaks to me of family, unity, love and contentment. Please enjoy - jack

I was in a boat headed to Morocco when I got the idea for this photo. It turned much better then I was expecting, proving simple things are surprising lovely sometimes.

While on way to Pushkar from Ajmer, I saw three people in traditional dress in Makarwali village. I liked their pose and expressions.

I captured these three siblings on a beautiful Autumn afternoon in Michigan.

This is one of 17 wild turkeys in my neighborhood. It is interesting to see when mating season arrives how the male turkeys puff up and shake their entire bodies to attract attention and ward off potential competition. They also attack the tires on cars as they drive through the neighborhood streets.

My husband and I went to NYC and managed to get an invitation to see the Thanksgiving Day parade from an office building. It made us feel like kids again. Happy Thanksgiving!

I was playing with off-camera flash and slow shutter speeds. I think this picture is creative and mysterious.

This photo of fresh, vibrant Cutie oranges was taken on my dining room table. The natural light from the window made for a crisp shadow.

I took this self portrait picture in my backyard using my Kodak EasyShare camera. It was the end of Summer and time for hoodies, scarves and the cool crisp air of Autumn. For me, this picture represents a longing for the next Season.

The rain and the last leaves are falling. Changing of another season will soon be here.

I took this one morning in early November. I like the colors and contrast. Arlington, Va.

It was a beautiful day for football - one last day in the sun before the winter weather sits in. Even though little league football photos are suppose to be all about the action - the hard hits, the big blocks, the difficult catch, the evading running back - this has to be one of my favorites photos. After they put on their helmets, sometimes we forget that they are just children. This photo reminds me that they are still children - children who want to play because they truly love to play.

There are so many new colors for the poinsettias, that it is hard to pick just one...

I took this photo while visiting Amsterdam. I hadn't been there in over fifty years. It's a beautiful city and very walkable.

A cold, frosty morning in Northern Arizona. Icy crystals of water vapor frozen...until the sun comes up!

While experimenting with various techniques that I wanted to include in my daughter's recital program, I tried using glow sticks attached to my niece's arms, legs, waist and head to create this image. Using a long exposure I captured her doing a full handstand from the upright position on plexiglass that produced this abstract like quality.

I love the festive look and color of glass ornaments!

I took this photo in Heemstede - The Netherlands.

It's rare to photograph a hot air balloon from above, especially with such spectacular scenery below it. I shot this over Turkey's Cappadocia region in October, 2009, from an even higher balloon while vacationing in Turkey.

This was a lucky shot, taken on one of the few cloud free days we get in the winter. Taken in Kelowna, BC Canada.

This beautiful young boy has pledged his life to Buddha at an early age, with an open and giving heart.

Floating glacier ice on the Mendenhall Glacier, Juneau, Alaska. The Mendenhall Glacier flows from glistening ice fields between rock mountains to end at Mendenhall Lake near Juneau.

During the holidays I decided to go out to a local park to take some pictures of the winter nature. I looked for that special shot of some snow, trees, maybe a little frozen creek - when I came across this fire hydrant - perfectly positioned in the middle of an open field in the colors appropriate for the holidays.

I couldn't help but to name it "Santa's Colors." Many times in search for something specific we find something unique...

This shot is of a Canada creek in central New York. The fog was just starting to lift on this brisk morning in early fall.

This was taken in Scotland, in early autumn on my walk.

This is a photo of our daughter as she slept one night. I was struck by her "praying hands" (not the typical way she goes to sleep) and loved how she looked like a cherub praying to the Lord.

This photo was taken, last December, just after a two day blizzard had stopped. It's Mother Nature at her best. Brodhead, Wisconsin.

A jolly laugh was the intent of this picture. Our frizzled Cochin chicken "Fancy" felt right at home in this nest of jingle bells. Merry Christmas to all.

Ho Ho Ho! It's that time of year.

This is my only grand child and he is very special to me [nanny] and his pa. I love photography and nothing is better than to take photos of my family.

It was 20 degrees below zero when this photo was taken on a remote gravel road in Unity Oregon while rounding up stray sheep. These dogs are my life line.

I was photographing my new little grandson in this crocheted hat when he appeared to give us the "Bronx Cheer" !

Special ambiance on a winterday in Januari 2009

This photo was taken in March 2010 during a competition at Mt. Rose, Lake Tahoe, Nevada. It's four pictures in one.

I work nights and I'm always driving through Times Square at night. I just love taking pictures of the lights.

While at Disneyland, I was trying to photograph the fireworks in a way that I hadn't seen previously, and the old time clock was interesting. The flash lit the clock and the fireworks lighting took care of themselves.

Thia WAS Taken at Lalibela, Ethiopia ON Christmas Day (January 7). Pilgrims walked for days to be here for the Christmas blessing.

On top of a mountain in Vancouver, I captured this playful moment of a highly misunderstood animal. These playful Grizzly bears showed their natural, softer and comical side.

My amazing little granddaughter... Caught in a day dream.
