KODAK MOMENT of the Day

During the holidays I decided to go out to a local park to take some pictures of the winter nature. I looked for that special shot of some snow, trees, maybe a little frozen creek - when I came across this fire hydrant - perfectly positioned in the middle of an open field in the colors appropriate for the holidays.

I couldn't help but to name it "Santa's Colors." Many times in search for something specific we find something unique...

This shot is of a Canada creek in central New York. The fog was just starting to lift on this brisk morning in early fall.

This was taken in Scotland, in early autumn on my walk.

This is a photo of our daughter as she slept one night. I was struck by her "praying hands" (not the typical way she goes to sleep) and loved how she looked like a cherub praying to the Lord.

This photo was taken, last December, just after a two day blizzard had stopped. It's Mother Nature at her best. Brodhead, Wisconsin.

Merry Christmas!!

A jolly laugh was the intent of this picture. Our frizzled Cochin chicken "Fancy" felt right at home in this nest of jingle bells. Merry Christmas to all.

Ho Ho Ho! It's that time of year.

This is my only grand child and he is very special to me [nanny] and his pa. I love photography and nothing is better than to take photos of my family.

It was 20 degrees below zero when this photo was taken on a remote gravel road in Unity Oregon while rounding up stray sheep. These dogs are my life line.

I was photographing my new little grandson in this crocheted hat when he appeared to give us the "Bronx Cheer" !

Special ambiance on a winterday in Januari 2009

This photo was taken in March 2010 during a competition at Mt. Rose, Lake Tahoe, Nevada. It's four pictures in one.

I work nights and I'm always driving through Times Square at night. I just love taking pictures of the lights.

While at Disneyland, I was trying to photograph the fireworks in a way that I hadn't seen previously, and the old time clock was interesting. The flash lit the clock and the fireworks lighting took care of themselves.

Thia WAS Taken at Lalibela, Ethiopia ON Christmas Day (January 7). Pilgrims walked for days to be here for the Christmas blessing.

On top of a mountain in Vancouver, I captured this playful moment of a highly misunderstood animal. These playful Grizzly bears showed their natural, softer and comical side.

My amazing little granddaughter... Caught in a day dream.

While traveling through Vietnam, I visited a number of homes. This gentleman was laboring over a pile of Cashews. He was using an Exacto knife blade to scrape the skins of of the nut. Later, he will turn it for a profit of $1 USD per Kilo.

The bones of these dead trees are a reminder of the erosion happening on the coastline. Their skeletons seem to be guarding the shore.

My wife and I were on a 16-day cruise around the coast of South America. We'd never seen penguins in their natural environment before. These guys live on Volunteer Point in the Falkland Islands. The fuzzy ones in the background are young and haven't earned their tuxedos yet. Best memory of the trip...meeting the penguins.

I like the contrast of snow with the red rocks. This photo was taken at sunset in Arches National Park, Utah. Fresh-fallen snow covered the La Sal Mountains as the sun descended over red rock country.

Lady Liberty represents the chance we have to make our hopes and dreams a reality. To be able to live in a land where, if we put our mind to it, we can accomplish anything. No matter what our nation becomes, this monument represents what it should, and hopefully always will stand for: Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

I can always appreciate a fun bride.....

Winter in Brasov, Romania.

While babysitting I took this impromptu photo of my 16 month old grandson. He picked up grandma's point-and-shoot, and learned that he could photograph himself, turn the camera around and see himself.

This was taken during a bad weather day on a hike I didn't want to go on. It was taken in Boulder, CO at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. They have areas for hiking open to the public. The hoar frost occurred at the time of this hike on February 8, 2010.

I took this shot in Ranchi, India. These labors carry the sand and bricks to a steep hilltop to make a temple.

This was taken in September 2009, on a park bench out in Simi Valley, CA.
It relates to the theme I selected because it involves both my creative side, as you can see in me pushing myself off of the bench, and also my artistic skill because I love editing my own work. It’s special because I achieved my vision of what I was attempting to create.

Just a dandelion, shot outside against the sky.

This photo was taken on the San Sand Dunes in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India. I liked the pose of the photographer and the contrast of the frame.

This was taken during a family vacation in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.

These windmills are gigantic, and when operating in full capacity, it can generate enough power to supply the entire province. It harnesses the unlimited wind energy, which is free by nature, and does not have by-products.

A picture of my sweet granddaughter, doing what she does best: just being adorable.

This is an inverted colored image of the whirls and curls of smoke. It was created using an incense, LED light and a king size black bed sheet. Hope y'all enjoy.

I love her form in this silhouette image. She jumped MANY times before this was captured properly. :)

I captured this long exposure of the waves crashing against the rocks at Siridao Beach in Goa (India). I love the colour tone created by the use of stacked Cokin filters.

This picture was taken on my kitchen floor in front of my back door during the Spring of 2010.

This skeleton key was my grandmothers. She gave it to my mom and my mom gave it to my daughter. So, my 17 year old daughter now wears her great-grandmother's skeleton key as a necklace. What a fun treasure!

This image was taken in December 2009 during a full moon at Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe, CA. This was an image that was a combination of three images (HDR) plus a smoothing filter to help to add some more magic to this already amazing scene.
