KODAK MOMENT of the Day

This image was taken in December 2009 during a full moon at Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe, CA. This was an image that was a combination of three images (HDR) plus a smoothing filter to help to add some more magic to this already amazing scene.

My little cousin loves being a cowboy. He is right at home in this hat. Taken 2011 in Oklahoma.

I took this at Lake Tobias in Halifax, PA. This little guy was running after the safari bus and getting all the treats everyone was passing out. I love the bright colors in him!

This picture is special to me because I love photographing my children, and them in the sunset made a beautiful scene. The photo was taken in our back yard in Colorado.

This was taken in Washington DC in March during the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. I love that you can see both the blossoms and the Washington Monument.

I was looking for something special to do with Chinese Lanterns, and while cleaning out a friend's garden I came across these - all withered and dried up. Immediately I thought of doing something creative with one of them and I took them to my basement studio. Using a glass bottom to get the reflection I started snapping away until I got the image that I wanted. I made minor contrast adjustments, but this is right out of the camera.

The photo was taken in China, very early in the morning just after sunrise. The fisherman seems like a guardian angel emerging through the mist.

The striking and colorful front of the historical building "Ledenhof" in Osnabrueck, Germany, inspired me to take this image.

The beauty of a crisp winter day.

I took the photo of this woman on the outskirts of her village at Tajpur in West Bengal, India. She was returning home in the evening hours with her cattle.

This lone tree enduring the winter with grace and patience was so lovely. I took it in Suffern, NY and it shows the beauty in the harshest of nature's conditions.

This swan took up residence in a pond that was flooded by torrential rains. The swan started to hiss as I neared it, so I quickly backed away to avoid upsetting it more. The early morning fog allows the viewer to focus on the swan and it's immediate environment.

Taken on a beautiful spring day while walking the dogs with my sister & brother in law while checking out Tower Ranch Golf course pre-season conditions.

I took this picture while taking a drive through the wet lands along Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Ah, poor Maddie. Made to sit and hold up a sign saying hold old she is (5 months), and wear a paper birthday hat. With all 3 of our children, I've taken monthly shots of them the first year to watch them grow.
I love this photo because it reminds me of the look of dismay you'd see in one of those photos of a child who takes the first lick of their ice cream cone -- only to have the scoop topple off the cone onto the ground.

Rental boats on the Chesapeake and Ohio (C&O) Canal near downtown Washington, DC. The quiet and peacefulness of this scene attracted me.

This is a photo of a very kindhearted lady I met in a rural village in Laos.
I stayed in the village, at the invitation of a woman I met on a local bus. Spending a couple days with the children, families and elders of this village will remain one of my most memorable of experiences.

Springtime in the Netherlands.

Originally taken to represent a theme of "April Showers" this photo won first prize. "Sous la pluie" simply translates to "in the rain".

I found this cluster of mushrooms growing on the side of a ditch near a pile of leaves in the woods. I decided to light it from behind at a low angle and was happy to discover the small snail crawling on the bunch when I reviewed it later on my computer.

It started raining while shooting a senior photo. My handy dandy pink umbrella came in quite handy.

The unfolding of the leaves met with the sunshine is just a burst of green that makes me welcome the day.

My friend, Chelsey, has the most amazing eyes. I decided to get creative with a close up shot of it.

Even bare trees in the winter can be beautiful.

I love taking pictures of flowers then editing them! What a great way to start Spring!

This is a special photo to me because I love capturing the innocence of children in photography, and that's what this makes me think of.
It was taken during the summer in front of my house while my son was playing with the hose and I was watering flowers. I selected the artistic/creative theme because it's a black and white shot of only his legs and feet -- with his reflection in the water on the ground. Hope you like it!

The fields of the Palouse region (southeastern Washington) turn vivid green in early June. The tones and patterns vary with each planting season. I took this sunrise photo from Steptoe Butte, a popular spot to photograph the rolling hills. It has a Tuscan feel to it.

I took this photo in 2006 when I was 15. It was taken in Montreal, Quebec while there with my high school. I love taking pictures and this man whooshed in front of my camera and was cursing at himself for smoking and driving... I call this photo a 'happy accident' because it inspired me to go to school for film!

This picture was taken in my front yard. One mushroom was toppled over next to the one still upright.

Young Great Egrets seen in the wild struggling to survive - they cry out to their parents for food.

Poised at the tip of the reflection, this seagull was just begging to have his picture taken. Taken at Morro Bay, CA.

While taking this picture I could see the butterfly's head tilting left and right as it observed me observing it. You really get a sense of personality in even the smallest creatures when you are shooting macro.

Our baby Basilisk lizards hatched out yesterday. This is a photo of one of them peeking out on the world. He looks like a baby dinosaur. So amazing to watch them be born.
