KODAK MOMENT of the Day

This picture is special for me because it makes me feel relaxed, and it makes a nice contrast between the water and the jungle. I took it in Palenque, Mexico last August.

The picture is related with the theme "nature" because when you see it, the first thing you think about is nature.

This was taken in the wild on a cloudy afternoon near a waterfall in Kerala, India. The smallest one in the picture was being bullied by a group of mischief mongers - and immediately the mother, father and another elder monkey came to its rescue. The tiny tot then hugged it's mother and felt relieved. This picture show intense family bondage seen within monkey's, the closest beings to humans.

It's wonderful what happens when different elements of nature combine to create beautiful images. I loved the way these early morning dew drops are captured by the spiders web and the soft morning rays of the sun. I captured this image while on an early morning walk near a dam in South Africa.

I took this photo in my backyard in May 2010 using a Canon 100mm macro lens. I used a flash to light the spider.

I liked taking this photo because the butterfly did not mind me crouching down to take his picture. I love the colors of the butterfly against the clear blue sky - it is nature at its finest! Taken in July 2010 in my back yard in Texas.

Near Kennett Square, PA there were two big field of sunflowers ... 22 acres and more than 460,000 plants! The best part of my day was the people that were smiling, talking to everyone and at peace in the sunflower field!

This little Sulcata tortoise was quite determined in trying to get away from me.

The diet of the White Ibis is diverse as shown by this dragonfly which is about to be consumed.

This is a rare shot of what is called a "Veil of Eggs" that was laid by a Goosefish at the New England Aquarium in Boston, MA. The veil is 56 feet in length, weighs approximately 25 pounds and is estimated to contain more than 1 million eggs.

This was taken while I was on a nature hike. I passed by a clearing dotted by bushes and grass — the wind moved them ever so slightly, and my eye picked up a flash of red. I looked closer, and snap!

Shot on the Shenandoah river on a warm summer day. This image takes me back to my boyhood when I spent many a happy hour with a fishing pole in my hand.

I like the colors and texture of this photo. Also I like the face on the front egg. This photo was taken on Easter 2010 in Williston, Vermont.

I clicked this picture while on the way to my Delhi tour.

While visiting a raptor recovery preserve, I noticed this not-so-friendly guy peering at me through a cage. I quickly snapped this shot and left him alone.

Taken while on a hike in Yellowstone National Park.

I took this close shot of a sleeping baby rhino in September 2010. It has a hot and humid day and he was napping next to his mother in a shady spot on the sand.

During the daytime this dead tree is nothing, yet as the night approaches, it becomes a home for migrating birds. What a lovely sight!

This is a shot through the sunroof of my car during a spring rainstorm. The vibrant, wet seemed harbingers of spring.

My son has always been a creative soul...and loves to paint. When I took this picture it just screamed for color. So I adjusted the photograph to include both color and black and white -- which adds such depth and art to a simple photograph.

When it's feeding time, it seems these Koi try to see how much they can get, and beat the others to it.

I love visiting the farm this time of year to see all the new foals. This was taken at Birch Creek Farm in Cream Ridge, N.J.

This was taken to document our son's nursery. Every picture is very special to me, but I love this one because it captures the playfulness and love that we share!

Spring rain on the window made a nice, soft back drop for the Orchid.

We have a gorgeous wildflower field that only blooms for a couple weeks in the spring. I checked it almost daily until I thought it was just right for a picture with my daughter.

A photo of a pink Calla Lily. I edited the image in Topaz (Adjust 4) to add a watercolor effect.

We spent the day visiting a friend at the lake, and enjoyed lots of fish, birds and of course frogs! I love the expression on my daughter's face after she picked up this frog :-)

These are hula-hoops of different colors. I see that they are popular again!

This is a friend's adorable baby girl - I love when babies become so expressive. This little lady is going to have one great, BIG, beautiful personality! :)

An insect pollinator has so many choices in performing its valuable service of ensuring flowers of the same species are pollinated. Spring is here!

This is a picture of my daughter's friend pitching, taken during a softball tourney. As the game progressed, it started to get stormy out. I just love the way it looks with the ball in her hand.

The glow of pink evening light accentuates the skill of airshow pilots as they perform in tight formation with aerial maneuvers. This event was featured at the New Smyrna Skyfest located at the airport at New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

This nest was tucked into the pear tree in our backyard. I love the vibrant colors of the eggs.

I captured this image of my niece, Melanie, one summer afternoon. I love her eyes and how relaxed she is just laying in the grass. :)

I like this photo because it gives me a feeling of peace.

Every element of this shot just seemed to come together. But it was her looking at her daddy's empty boots that speaks volumes...without saying a word!

On Veteran's Day I came across this mounted U.S. Park Police officer, quietly standing vigil in Arlington National Cemetery.

In the northern climes, the ice breakup on the lakes is the sure sign of the arrival of spring and the renewal that comes with it.

Love the blue and yellow iris flowers and how they looked like they were dancing in the garden.

Taken on our front porch. A flower is a treasure to a little girl.

Ahhh...it's nice just to hang out in the backyard and relax.
