This is a picture of my daughter's friend pitching, taken during a softball tourney. As the game progressed, it started to get stormy out. I just love the way it looks with the ball in her hand.

The glow of pink evening light accentuates the skill of airshow pilots as they perform in tight formation with aerial maneuvers. This event was featured at the New Smyrna Skyfest located at the airport at New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

This nest was tucked into the pear tree in our backyard. I love the vibrant colors of the eggs.

I captured this image of my niece, Melanie, one summer afternoon. I love her eyes and how relaxed she is just laying in the grass. :)

I like this photo because it gives me a feeling of peace.

Every element of this shot just seemed to come together. But it was her looking at her daddy's empty boots that speaks volumes...without saying a word!

On Veteran's Day I came across this mounted U.S. Park Police officer, quietly standing vigil in Arlington National Cemetery.

In the northern climes, the ice breakup on the lakes is the sure sign of the arrival of spring and the renewal that comes with it.

Love the blue and yellow iris flowers and how they looked like they were dancing in the garden.

Taken on our front porch. A flower is a treasure to a little girl.

Ahhh...it's nice just to hang out in the backyard and relax.

Helsinki's Samba Carnival is an event celebrated once every year on Helsinki Day, June 12th. Many colorful events are held on this special day and the Samba carnival is one of the most spectacular of those colorful events.

This photo is very special because it has all the element that I like in a picture. Shot at Shakespeare Park in Montgomery, AL

This is a picture of my daughter taken at grandmas pool. It was a big year for her because she no longer required floaties! You can see the excitement on her face as she goes to do another cannonball!

This is of my 4 year old grandson, who just loves tractors. It was taken at the Virginia State Fair. When I saw the big tractor wheel, I asked him if he would get inside the rim so I could take a picture. He crawled in, posed himself, and gave the greatest smile! It was adorable!

Picture taken at an event last year, and the evening festivities included a fireworks show. I snapped this with a American flag that just happened to be in front of the fireworks. I love it!

This shot was taken at the Heart of NC Criterium in Asheboro, North Carolina. I used a slow shutter speed on these racers, to try to capture a feeling of their speed.

Calm water in the Lyme Regis Harbour, England, is great for boat reflections. I captured this one of a visiting boat in late august :)

This was such a fun photo to take because of all the creative elements in play.

This was taken one afternoon at Fletcher's Cove, on the Potomac River in Washington, DC. The reflections and colors caught my eye.

I took this in my back yard because it shows America's talent to create products that last. It relates to the theme because it's an everyday item that we always overlook.

Don't you remember days like this? Lying in the cool grass on a hot day, taking the time to look up at the clouds and shapes you see, searching for 4-leaf clovers... This is my son reenacting that same day I had when I was his age. Ahhh... summer. :)

Lighthouse on Cape Cod.

It was my first time to see the field of Cosmos. They are so beautiful. I took this picture at Jim Thompson Farm, Thailand. Pink Cosmos are a gift from Nature.

During a family visit at a historic park, my daughter turned, and looked up at me with a question. I really liked the look of wonderment and anticipation, as she waited on the answer to her question.

This is one of many birds that are in my backyard. They actually have babies in the house. It was taken on May 4, 2011. Nature is one of God's greatest gifts.

I love this picture because it will always remind me of how small he was at his first trip to the beach. I took this on our family vacation in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Our dog, Jasmine, taking a swim at the local pool. On the Saturday after Labor Day, the pool is open that day to dogs only. A great idea and a great time for everyone.

This is a photo of my granddaughter taken in our backyard swimming pool during the summer of 2008.

While gardening in my backyard, I ran across this grasshopper. I ran back into the house to get my camera and hoped he would still be there when I returned. It was a lucky photo day.

I love the happy face of this huge sunflower. It was growing in a local garden, and I just had to take the picture :)

This was taken at the Cherry Blossoms Bike Race, in Branch Brook Park, Newark, NJ.

This is a working lighthouse by the Coast Guard in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Fort Williams and the lighthouse area are maintained by the local citizens and no admission fee is required. We found it while riding around and exploring the area.

I took this photo on the fourth of July, 2010 while watching the fireworks with my friend. The reflections on the pond really enhanced the photo.

This photo was taken on a table made of stone in Watkins Glen, NY while my friend and her daughter were home for a visit.

The Seattle Center is a magnet for people of all ages all summer long. The fountain sprays water all day and kids flock to it like bees to flowers. Here they are playing in the spray in the afternoon sun.

This photo is special to me because I waited on the banks of the river Jhelum in Kashmir (in a freezing chill for 2 hrs) for someone to turn up to photo - when finally this happened.
Kashmir is heaven on earth for visuals...and this is indeed is heavenly.

While on a visit to the Tower of London, I asked a Beefeater, a retired captain in the British army, to pose for this picture.

Sunsets just make life a little bit better. Taken near Phoenix, Az.

This is a special dedication for my Dad, who passed away 5 years ago this month. Being from the state of Kansas, a Sunflower seems to be a perfect tribute and dedication to him.

This photo was taken at Yosemite National Park during the full moon in June of 2011.

My best friend, my buddy. I got him at the Humane Society and he's the best dog ever. He always makes me laugh and is ALWAYS at my side. The best thing I ever did was get him!

This is a photo of my little grand daughter. She was on third base during a T-Ball game, she looked at me, smiled and gave me a thumbs up. My heart just melted.
