KODAK MOMENT of the Day

This photo is special to me because I waited on the banks of the river Jhelum in Kashmir (in a freezing chill for 2 hrs) for someone to turn up to photo - when finally this happened.
Kashmir is heaven on earth for visuals...and this is indeed is heavenly.

While on a visit to the Tower of London, I asked a Beefeater, a retired captain in the British army, to pose for this picture.

This is a special dedication for my Dad, who passed away 5 years ago this month. Being from the state of Kansas, a Sunflower seems to be a perfect tribute and dedication to him.

This photo was taken at Yosemite National Park during the full moon in June of 2011.

My best friend, my buddy. I got him at the Humane Society and he's the best dog ever. He always makes me laugh and is ALWAYS at my side. The best thing I ever did was get him!

This is a photo of my little grand daughter. She was on third base during a T-Ball game, she looked at me, smiled and gave me a thumbs up. My heart just melted.

This was part of a project to capture animals from their own perspective. The use of an extreme wide angle lens allows the viewer an intimacy that is otherwise lost with the telephoto lenses that are normally used for wildlife photography.

I was at the beach with my sister, and she happened to shoot this perfect smile at me, and I captured it at that moment. It really helps show her personality.

This is my favourite photo, taken in Canada while on a whale spotting trip to the Gaspe Peninsula Q.C.

Spring, bubbles and little girls.

A photo of Dead Horse Point, Canyonlands, UT. It is said that a lot of horses died of thirst at this point. The horses could see the river (2,000 feet below) but could not access it. They were "blocked" by a fence made of branches "accidentally" left closed by the cowboys. This is also 250 million years of erosion. Isn't it spectacular?

I was playing around with the camera manual settings and this was the result. Enjoy!

I enjoyed the water coming from all angles. It was taken in Arizona on a vacation, and was mesmerized by the sound and site of it.

This is a picture of my daughter, and it is so her. She loves taking pictures as much as I do.

This little puppy is Milly and she's beautiful. She was searching through the next door neighbours lawn when I caught her, and this photo at the perfect time.

I love the magical feel this image gives off....

A wild monkey lost in thoughts.

This photo is my one year old nephew, Caden. I took it during the summer of 2010, on a hot day where we rolled out the round, tin tub, filled it with cool water, stripped him naked, and put him in. This simple tub of water entertains him for hours. The reason I chose to place this photo under the "People/Family/Friends" category is because when I look at this photo, I see the simplicity of a child, so content with such a small thing as water, and how completely comfortable he is with being nude in front of Aunt Camille and the surrounding family members. No self consciousness here. And of course, those big blue eyes just get me every time!

I was sitting on a bench in a bike shop and looked up to discover this view through the wheels of a long line of bikes.

We all enjoy the color, fun, food, arts, dance and music as the many ethnic groups in Los Angeles each celebrate their own culture. The Japanese community tradition features an annual festival in mid-August. These women are part of a large ondo traditional dance group awaiting their turn to join in the L.A. street parade.

This image shows recursive reflections between two buildings (one flat, one circular) covered with glass. Taken in downtown Atlanta, the image looks unreal - but I have not edited it.

This couple had their reception at an art museum :) I love this image in their wedding clothes with all the paintings around them.

Taken at a small church near my house. This tower looks up into the sky and I just love all the windows it has.

This is my 4 year old Lab, Zoey and her favorite chewed up tennis ball. It was taken outside my home in Mountain View, CA.

Civil War reenactment. This is one of the participants. He looked so tense, I could not help but take his picture.

Just driving along one afternoon and had to stop for this train, so I took advantage of the "photo" opportunity!

I was taking photos of my son playing in the yard, he fell and hurt his lip and began to cry. After I put ice on his "bo bo" I got my favorite photo of the day. His sad face with that one tear left on it..and his fat lip!

This photo was taken in Golden Gate Park at Stow Lake, while my brother was visiting from Pennsylvania. He hadn't been to San Francisco in 25 years.
When we saw the light coming thru the trees it just made you stop and say, "Oh my God."

This is a picture of my 4 year old grandson. The picture really captures the deep intensity and strong will between the flamingo and my grandson. I find it such a captivating picture. The picture was taken in February 2011 at a park in Florida. I could not decide between animals--humor--nature-family...I chose family.

My 10-year-old son, hiking the Narrows of the Virgin River in Zion National Park. He says this is his favorite thing he's ever done.
It's pretty high on my list too.

Waiting in line for the ferris wheel, seeing the reflection in the glasses made me think of seeing a goal, and waiting for it.

The evening clouds make a nice background for this century old attraction in Vienna.

This picture was taken in Granger, Texas, at a wheat field my dad and I stopped at while out driving. He had to convince me to get into the field, and after several shots, this "first" picture turned out to be the best shot that day. It is an artistic shot to me, because the wheat field looks like an endless sea.

Here in the sub-continent, hands of a farmer are used in much of the countryside to harvest the golden crop.

These are my kiddos. This is just one picture from a series I did of them for there up coming Father's Day gift to their dad.

I love to play tennis and waiting for US Open.

After taking a shift "shot" of our City Fire Department, I said, "all finished" and this was the next shot I took! It was too funny to watch as they all assumed different positions descending from the fire truck. I could not resist this one.

This was our first solo vacation in Cancun, Mexico. It was taken last September.

This is my wee son Owen. Last summer we had the opportunity to get away for the week and enjoy the relaxing beach at the cottage. Well, Owen is not so fond of being away from his environment so I thought I would hang him out to dry.lol. Just kidding! He was grumpy but was a real trooper for this staged shot.

This is Patches. I adopted her in August 2010 and came right home and did her 1st photo shoot. I love this shot!

This picture was taken during a Memorial Day parade in my small town. The concentration in this musicians face was a delight to see.

I enjoyed the way the shapes combined on this custom car at a local car show.
