Central Coast is my 5year old boy favorite drive. is only 30Min from our house, but always make us feel happy and relax!!

Our three cats have taken over the treehouse in the backyard and made it their own lookout.

This is Lucy and she is such a poser. I was dog sitting her and she let me do whatever I wanted to her for taking photos....there were many props but this turned out to be my favorite...

I admire the patterns in nature and found this succulent plant to be an exeptional specimen with it's bold red tips and swirly appearance. Taken at Harmony Hill Gardens and submitted as a sign of spring

It?s hard to resist going through the tunnel though Battle Rock, in Port Orford, Oregon... when the tide is low. Especially during the early morning, when the interior of the tunnel is better illuminated. November 14, 2011.

This picture is special to me because it becomes an expression of what is most important in life - freedom and peace of mind. I took this picture two months ago in the Dominican Republic. It is a little piece of paradise. A vacation indeed!

On a family vacation/cruise earlier this month, our grandson, Daniel, treated himself to a refreshing splash in the "H2O Zone" aboard the "Freedom of the Seas". He would have us believe that the photo portrays his natural halo... NOT!

This picture was taken in Madison, WI. Its the underside of Hwy 30. I like the abundance of lines in the picture. The path to this spot was very normal rail and road stuff. Then all of a sudden this little oasis of a place popped into my vision. Hence the shangri la name.

Took several tries to get the grasshopper to stay. Several times he jumped on my eyelid.

Took this photo about 6am in Bosque del Apache in November. It sounded like a freight train going by.

The holy city of Varanasi also know as "The City of Temples". There are several religious rituals that are seen throughout the day. This shot was made during the early Morning Aarti (Prayer) in Dasaswamedh Ghat in Varanasi (Banaras). The silhouette and the changing colors of the morning sky made me feel at peace.

In the Patriarch Grove in the White Mounatins California where the ancient bristlecone pines are found. It is so dark that the milky way is visible

Akasha, a three-year-old Bengal tiger, is the world's only female underwater diving tiger and resides at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, Calif. I was asked to take some new photos of the tigers swimming underwater and by chance the lighting and conditions were just right. I took this image in May, 2011 and it has proven to be quite popular. My favorite subject matter to shoot are tigers.

I liked the rust and texture that remained on this unrestored 1936 Ford. I love listening to the stories people tell about when they owned a particular car from their teenage years.

I was on a pier, on lake Michigan in Chicago, and I was looking out unto the city. It's a beautiful place to stand and look out on, well there it was, the perfect picture!

The Hmong are a hilltribe living in northern Thailand in the area of Chiang Mai. The Kids were at the entrance to a temple to entertain tourists.

This spider was hanging outside my backdoor in Pennsylvania, USA for several days before I took a photo. It wasn't until I uploaded it did I see incredible patterns on his underside!! What started out as pic of a spider turned into a photo that I love!!

The green iguana is a large, arboreal, mostly herbivorous species of lizard native to Central, South America, and the Caribbean. Took it many years ago on the mall in Washington D.C. It was a tall structure that you had to get under to see the star. Only by looking at it in a different aspect did the true beauty of the subject emerge.

Dahlia's were in bloom at the Mendocino Botanical Gardens in Fort Bragg, California. Mendocino is a magical coastal location and these flowers are right at home blooming in every color of the rainbow and every shape found in nature.

This picture is special to me because it is one of the memories of our trekking that me and my friends did. This picture was taken on the way to Dudhsagar water falls in State of Goa, India. It was taken when were crossing a rail tunnel. Since trekking is associated with travel.

This resident of Riverbanks Zoo, in Columbia, South Carolina, USA had his skin colored by a coating of the everpresent, Carolina, red clay. I found the shapes and textures of his body to make a very interesting subject.

On a leisure bike ride in the Netherlands outside the city of Groningen I came across a field of lovely small horses. This was my favorite.

This is a picture of my young brother who is continuingly revising for his exams. One of his textbooks had the word "Love" scrawled on the side and I couldn't not take a picture in the gloom of the study. I understand the pressures of teenagers with their exams at the moment and I believe that this captures all the small things that they aren't noticing by being ignorant to everything but their studies.

It's special to me because I love animals and this goat looks like he's smiling at the camera. Animals are so intuitive and happy, they are much appreciated in this world! I took it in Piedmont, South Carolina, where I live.

Thrilled to see the glorious fall colors, I scrambled up into an oak tree and snapped this shot of the leaf. I really find the backlighting enchanting.

Daisy is my daughter's pet hedgehog. We love to hear her chirp/purr when she is being loved and held. Daisy is getting old for a hedgehog and has recently developed a tumor on her gums. You can probably see the swelling on her left, your right. Right now she is happy and content. We hope she stays that way for a long time. I love this picture of my daughter holding her.
