KODAK MOMENT of the Day

Taken while on a photography trip to Yellowstone park and the Grand Tetons

Shreya, my neighbour, loves to pose in front of the camera as much as she likes to get behind it and shoot people. She loves looking through my camera but it gets too heavy for her to hold and shoot. One day, while I was shooting a subject, Shreya insisted me give her my camera for her to play with. I gave her a toy camera instead that was apt for her size. I took this image while she was content playing with her new gear. I reserved this image of the "Little Photographer" to celebrate World Photography Day! I have taken this shot in Aug'13 at Hyderabad, India.

I was walking through the campus of the College of Charleston, in Charleston, South Carolina, when I noticed this view of the stairs to Randolph Hall, the oldest building on the campus.

I do love my cat, however, she is hopeless when it comes to 'hunting'. This photo captures her in attempt to catch a butterfly. She was unsuccessful. Bless her. I sat and watched her do this in the living room of my house, through the window blinds.

-I was very excited to see the colors like this in real life! -Taken in Rochester NY, directly across the river from Kodak! -It relates to nature because it's part of a long trail that goes along the Genesee River and through the forest. Great trail!

I took this picture of my dad working on a tractor, about a year ago. As soon as I scanned the negative and later printed it in the darkroom, it became one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken.

This is my dog Monty and he's very special to me. It was taken at my home in Upper Clatford. It relates to the theme as he is my pet.

My niece had a family party and this is one of the great desserts that she made!

This picture was taken on Oct 21, 2012, in a small town in central Texas. Located in the alley behind several buildings in the town's historic district, are many murals painted by local artists. This particular mural represents a strong influence of Mexican culture present in the state of Texas.

This is my great niece, Ava Bug. She is a great little model and you never know what outfit she will show up in. Love this...

We carved out pumpkin and had it on the porch when an unexpected friend "Mr.Toad" decided it looked like a nice hiding place. Gotta love frogs and toads right!

This picture was taken August 21, 2013 in Macon, GA. I had tried to take pictures the night before, because it was a Blue Moon, but the sky was only clear for a few minutes before we had thunderstorms that lasted the rest of the night. The next night was clear, so I headed out with my camera. A movement caught my eye,and I saw the spider building the web in the tree in front of me. I positioned myself so the spider was between me and the moon, and then waited for him to zig and zag into position.

Bear waits for her Daddy to come home everyday she doesn't go to work with him. She helps out at Phoenix Sales and Distribution (a Kodak distribution company) in Williamsburg, VA.

A child full of wonderment looks out a seemingly timeless window of the Heritage Number 9 Waterloo Central Railway Steam Train as it heedfully reaches it's destination at Waterloo station, in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

I shot this at a park near my home in Arlington, VA. one overcast fall day. The even light caused the colors of the fallen leaves to almost glow.

When I spotted this juvenile yellow caped night heron I felt I had a good chance of getting very close so I got on my belly and slowly crawled up to it. I started taking head shots and then decided to see what I could do with my TC on so I rolled onto my back, pulled TC from my pocket and added it between my 80-400 VR and D200 body. This photo is the result.

Was shooting on a volunteer basis for a local dance troupe. This particular performer caught my eye...at 13 years of age, she was quite a physical presence in the studio despite her very humble demeanor. I love how the detail and the grittyness of the photo adds to this student's display of passion, strength, and flexibility!

This is a close-in photo of a totally hand made small boat taken at a boat show in Newport, R.I. Every inch of this beautiful boat looked and felt like liquid glass.

This picture was taken of my daughter on Veterans Day, 2012 in Okinawa, Japan where we are stationed, as my husband is deployed for yet another holiday season. It reminds me of the freedom that still reigns supreme in our country and those that have risked and given their lives to preserve it. God bless America.

I took this picture in December 2012 of my extremely tiny chihuahua (who thinks she's really big!). She is my protector, piglet and puts up with a lot from me (i.e. let me bread her).

I was driving in NY, about to go under a mountain that I like to hike on, and it had just rained a little so I noticed the light was flowing beautifully out of the tunnel, so I pulled over for 10 minutes trying to get the best shot I could. I wanted this shot for at least a year now, and I finally have it hanging on my wall.

This photograph represents a fantastic scene where an alone train is waiting for its next journey. This image was taken in 2011 in New Mexico. The photo is creative because it features a beautiful sky in its background and a perfect angle to capture the entire Santa Fe Locomotive.
