I just loved the way the soft light fell on this blacksmith as he works with his hands. I took this shot in New Bern NC.

This picture is special to me because it shows a youthfulness and innocence that doesn't exist as much in today's society. I took this photo last year in my home with my little sister.

I was walking through a farm in Portugual and came across this curious horse.

The distinct circular seed pod of a lotus comes into view as the opening of the leaves show off its showerhead like center.

Once the spotlights go out on Mount Rushmore the stars begin to shine. This is the side view of the monument which shows George Washington's profile. The ambient light from the building and parking lights light up George Washington on the bottom of the image.

While walking in a Chicago neighborhood I came across this window. I did a double take then laughed. This was something I could pass up

This tree frog was found in my backyard among some plants. It was barely 2.5 inches long and was extremely tired and cooperative in letting me take its photo.

This is our friends Horse and was taken near Wix in Essex. It relates to the theme as it is a pet.

I took this image in San Francisco. I love the color contrast and the flow. It makes me think of changing seasons.

I arrived at the Oceanside Marine Nature Study Area late in the afternoon planning for a nice birding shoot. I spotted a photographer taking photos of butterflies I the garden next to the parking lot. I never got out of the parking lot that day.

The autumn comes again! This photo I've taken on 16 September 2012.

This picture i took in my house @ night with a black backdrop & using a hand held torch as the lighting source. It is of my daughter who to me shines like gold in personality & beauty so the gold glitter on her is how i see her, sparkling!

Tobo and Gunda , my pampered pets, have free run over my house. One of their best pass time is to bark at anyone who walks past the house gates. Tobo always leads the way as his sharp ears pick up the first hint of sound. However, he usually waits for Gunda to be the face of the fight. A typical scene involves Tobo rushing out the door step barking and calling Gunda to rise and shine, then turning around to wait in anticipation of his arrival. Gunda, in contrast, comes in at a leisurely pace with wide eyes wondering why his brother is making such a noise. I wanted to capture this daily scene in this photograph. I have taken this photographs at my home at Hyderabad in October 2013.

You asked for lighthouse pictures for National Lighthouse day so I thought this would be a nice one to share.

It's a snap of very small yellow flowers spotted in Manali, India. I found it very symbolic to a small and very happy family who live a colorful life.

I decided to take a dirt-road when driving on the South Island of New Zealand, when I came upon this fellow stood by the road, boasting of pride.

These were huge pencils stacked up on a market stall. They caught my imagination and I just had to try to capture them.

This was taken at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. This police horse was watching over a large crowd at the end of the day.

Taken from a small cliff, this couple added a final touch to a very colorful sundown.

Taken in February of 2014 in Grimes, Ca. This shot means a lot to me because the effort I put in to get it paid off. After sitting in a hide just outside their feeding location I spent all day taking hundreds of pictures with most of them being missed shots. There were few good ones but this was my favorite.

Viewing from the main pier of Daytona Beach provides a wonderful presentation of the beautiful pounding surf and sun glistening on the ocean. Fun to watch the tourists, fishermen and pelicans as well as the amusement rides.

It's special because my camera was new and she sat still long enough and natural enough for me to take this picture. She was an affectionate pet that was lost soon after.

Living in CA for a few years, I fell in love with Santa Monica. I loved shopping on 3rd Street and taking a walk down to the pier at sunset. This photo was taken recently in January 2012, while visiting CA. My good friend and I decided to take a walk and photo safari down in Santa Monica at sunset, when this beautiful scene appeared. It was incredible! Santa Monica Pier Sunset was photographed on a Contax 645 Medium Format Film Camera, using Kodak Ektar 100. I just love this film for the amazing colors!

This is April, a young Florida Panther rescued and well cared at Flamingo Gardens in Davie, Florida. A non-profit organization giving shelter, care, food, and love for life to animals in distress. Pink tulips bend in a spring breeze near Washington, DC.

My two sons, partners in crime, enemies of each other but lost without the other. They are the love of my life!

Because it shows the special bond between a child and their pet. St. Louis, MO, June 2013 Friends and family come in all shapes and sizes.

Josh is a 14 year old, 600 lb Black Bear that was rescued as a cub and can not live in the wild. His former home lost its permit and Josh has been staying at a rescue facility temporarily. Flamingo Gardens has been working hard for the past two years to raise funds and construct a new large habitat for Josh to live out the remainder of his life. His new home is an 8000 sq feet habitat with his own splash pool and bears cave - flamingogardens.org ? I am a proud volunteer bringing awareness of their noble work through my photography.

When standing at the base of the Chedis they seemed to touch the sky.

Shot this standing from the edge of Rawal Lake in Islamabad, Pakistan.

This photo was taken towards the end of my teaching contract in Namyangju, South Korea; while preparing to leave, this neon behemoth of a dragonfly (substantially larger than my camera lens) patiently modelled for me outside my home.

My sweet young friend and I got to enjoy a fun photo shoot a day after her chemo treatment. She is fighting a long hard battle with cancer, but wears it well. This photo is a sign of spring.. and hope.

This picture is special becuase it shows that there are many details if you just look closely enough. It was taken in June, at a Garden in Tasmania, and relates to the theme of Nature becuase flowers are a small part of nature
