After 10 adrenalin pumped days of biting cold in the snow covered climes of Ladakh, I was beginning to feel the pangs of separation on my flight back. As I looked out of the window, I saw the stark change in geography between the white snow capped mountains and the brown snow bereft ones. I was leaving snow behind! I have taken this photograph from on board Leh-Delhi flight on May 2013.

This photo of a very frightened, but curious stray kitten was taken on October 5th 2011 in Gilbert, Arizona. He enjoyed hiding inside my chiminea and lived on my back patio for about one week before gaining his trust in me. Now Artemas is a part of our family living with his five furry sisters and one furry brother, all adopted and living the good life indoors!

These Students participate in weekly beach cleanups because they care about their environment. This was taken at Hermosa Beach in July 2012. The shot depicts some kids (obviously, the little legs dangling) just hangin' out.. they had fun doing the cleanup and they are good friends at school as well. Great students, great bunch of Junior Ocean Advocates .. Just plain great children!

The voracious appetite of a caterpillar works its way across an elephant ear plant trying to sustain its need for nourishment.

Manly Beach is one of the most idyllic locations in Australia, overflowing with crowds of surfers, families and tourists in summer. Winter is a different story though. Down to the beach before sunrise for this shot, it was just me and the morning joggers. It was even too cold for the surfers. Totally worth it though, to be able to witness an amazing sunrise at one of the most amazing places in the country. This is what makes those cold, early mornings worth it.

In the last days of summer my garden shows it's glory.

The colours of summer. They evoke memories of childhood and how as adults, perhaps we need to revisit those colours of expression.

Back to school time on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

This picture is special to me because it shows my artistic abilities and it's one of my favorite pictures I have taken. I took this picture in the city of Philadelphia in the middle of a small rainstorm. This image relates to the Artistic/Creative theme because the raindrops give it an artistic feel.

This is a picture of my daughter doing one of her dance moves on the rocks in Moab Utah. I expected to take many pictures just to get the right shot. I got this picture on the 1st shot and it turned out perfect. I picked the theme of artistic because of capturing the exact peak of her beautiful dance move.

I was working on a story about this woman who is retiring at the end of this year after working in the education field for 30+ years. I was over at her house and got the chance to photograph her with her grandchild who she is excited to spend more time with after retiring.

I was very amused and surprised when this guy came over, looked straight at my camera and struck a pose.

I LOVE that my daughter is costuming her high school's student-run production of "Lend Me a Tenor" - except SHE DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO SEW! So, Mom to the rescue. And this is the view I see when I am sewing....

While on vacation in Japan, I visited the Nagoya Castle and just happened to see this visitor walk by. "Lucky grab shots" happen!

I was inspired by Scott Dickson and high speed photography and I captured the very moment when the needle pops the balloon filled with water. I took it at the start of March,2014 in my backyard using black bed sheets as background. It is artistic and creative because it's not just a normal water balloon, by adding props such as sunglasses or hats we get more action inside a frame.

These poppies are beautiful and the color is so vivid. This was taken in Lancaster California. Our state flower growing wild.

Never caught a ladybird ready to fly before, it was actually luck that this happened, not skill :-) Photo taken in April 2013 Ireland Nature at its best

I shot this photo in Venice this past summer. This time, we were in Venice for only a day, since we were gpoing to be embarking on a Mediterranean cruise from there the following day. On previous visits to this most most magical and photogenic of cities, we have been fortunate enough to have been able to stay somewhat longer. We came across this cultural art installation and the reflections it created by chance--and I loved it.

The picture was taken a couple of years ago.

During a evening walk, I made a picture of myself and my dog.

After backpacking through Europe, my brother and I spent a week on safari in Kenya. This photo was one of several thousand that I took during a drive through the Amboseli National Park. The elephants were among my favorite animals to observe during our time in Kenya. For such massive creatures they somehow exude an alluring carefree and graceful spirit.

My 4 year old daughter made a great model for me to practice some photography! The fall colors in the background added extra flair!

The stream is Four Mile Run in Arlington, VA. I liked the reflection of the bare tree on the water littered with fallen leaves.

This is my first try at levitation photography. I'm not usually very good at photo manipulation, and I got a lot of compliments on this picture. So it means a lot to me because it lets me know I can always go further with my photography.

This picture was taken when the leaves started to change into vivid reds and oranges. It was the perfect opportunity to get my camera and showcase Mother Nature's masterpiece.

They look like a family to me. I could not resist.

Autumn is my favorite time of year. I especially enjoy going to and photographing at the local fairs in CT. On October 3, 2014 I photographed this colorful ferris wheel at the Berlin Agricultural Fair in Berlin, CT. I waited until the ferris wheel was most colorful and took the picture.
