KODAK MOMENT of the Day

This protea was the largest one I have seen. There is so much detail in the makeup of this beautiful flower.

The light and color were very brief, and I was luck enough to be able to stop for this shot. It was taken Oct. 30, 2013 near Trail B.C. in the early morning. It relates to the theme by illustrating the contrast between man and the natural course of nature.

This was shot at the Korean War Memorial in Washington, DC. It is a tribute to the veterans of one of America's most overlooked conflicts.

Drying clothes in the monsoon is quite a challenge. Abandoned by the clothes, the clothesline and clothespins were supposed to look sad and forlorn. But it did not! It was as if they came to life... glistening raindrops lined up in unison gave it a special lease of life as the clothes pins took on a fresh colour. The rains seem to cheer just about anyone and anything up! I have taken this photograph in Hyderabad, India on 12th July 2013. I have tried to capture the ordinary things of daily life in artistic manner.

This picture is special to me as I have managed to capture the fine details of the subject's eye. The subject is very old, partially blind, deaf and has Alzheimer's. She is older than me (I am 21) and she was a fantastic subject which sat still throughout a 45 minute shoot. I took it in a village named Mansfield Woodhouse which is in Nottinghamshire, UK. I don't believe that it is just a 'animal/pet' shot. To me it is an artistic/creative shot as it isn't you cliché pet shot.

I liked the innocent expression of this little girl during Eid prayer at Dhanbad.

Photo taken October, 2009 after a walk with my husband at Taughannock Falls, Finger Lakes area of New York State. It shows both the fleeting beauty of the fall leaf and the enduring beauty of the rock.

Although I have not had the opportunity to visit these creatures in their natural habitat, I often visit the zoo when I am not in school to capture portraits of many of the animals that live there. This Golden Lion Tamarin wasn't in a cage; it was allowed to swing from tree to tree and climb on the ropes that were strung form the trees.

Came across this dog watching over a flock of sheep outside of Flagstaff, Az.

I saw this pink pumpkin at Carpenter's farm produce stand in Charlestown, Rhode Island. We were vacationing there and I'd never seen a pumpkin this color.

I really captured a nice moment at Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. The sun coming through to the frozen surroundings is beautiful.

It was early evening hours in November walking in the narrow street of Latin Quarter of Paris. It was quite cold, but the soft yellow light coming from the windows of this lovely restaurant, and from other windows, had warm and inviting feel. The photo was taken when I was visiting my cousin there in November 2010.

This photo, to me, represents the "reflection" of days past and the innocence of a child. This photograph was taken in Dorset, Ohio, at an Amish-owned country store.

I took this photo this summer while on the tour part of a cruise tour of western Canada and Alaska. My husband and I had long wanted to visit the Canadian Rockies, Banff and Jasper, AB and Lake Louise. We were delighted to finally get to do so this past June.

Traditional Christmas flowers and lights add to the festive feeling of the Holidays...I love Christmas!

It was our first visit to western Canada to meet our first grandson. We took a trip to Lake Louise and were enthralled with the beauty of the place.

I crocheted an old fashioned bonnet for my granddaughter Harper, and wanted to capture a picture with her wearing it. She obliged with her special elf-like grin.

Every year at Christmas time I enjoy driving around my home town and photographing the beautifully decorated houses with their colorful and twinkling lights. I used a cross star filter to take this "sparkling" picture of Santa and the lights.

Trying out my Camera in different situations, this one just stands out to me, its tranquil, even in the storm.

I always wanted to get a nice Snowy Owl flight picture. Lucked out this year at Jones Beach, NY.

1. Because I was using my favourite film: Kodak Tri-X 35mm, shooting from the hip. And it's a cool picture. 2. I took it today, November 9th 2013, around 14:30. 3. It reminds me of the 1960s New York. Has a timeless sort of feel to it. Definitely cannot hear the crazy perfume shop man wailing his drivel just to the left of the frame!

This past December, Toronto, ON, Canada had the worst ice storm I have seen in the over 50 years I've lived here. The storm caused massive damage to the city's tree canopy, but it also brought some real beauty--and that beauty is what I tried to capture in this photo.

Almost all people photograph this arch at sunset. I chose to hike up to it in the middle of the winter, before sunrise, and photograph it with the sun coming through the arch. This is one of Utah's icons.

This was taken in Cleveland Metro parks...and is a once in a lifetime shot, I also used it for my Christmas and had PEACE ON EARTH written at the bottem

Picture taken January, 2014. I like the look of concentration on the little boy's face. We had seen deer that day and I asked him if there were any more too see.

A beautiful dove on a branch outside our kitchen window. It was just beginning to drizzle. He stayed for the shower that followed undeterred.

When I took this picture I was in a tire and rim shop, at Hunts Point, Bronx, NY,with a friend who's obsessed with his car. I was in awe of all the different, sexy, custom rims there were in their garage. It was beautiful!! What caught my eye were all the repeating circles and the rays of sun gleaming off the chrome.

I went to Paris with my school a few years ago. It reminds me to always follow my dream- of being a photographer in Paris. When I see it, I remember that I'm capable of anything if I put my mind to it.
