KODAK MOMENT of the Day

I visited the Lido Beach Marine Nature Study Area as it's monarch migration time here in NYC. After a short walk I found plenty of them in the vicinity of a few butterfly bushes. In the 45 minutes I spent there I managed to tire out my hand and overheat my flash. Yes it was fun! I was shooting with my flash on the hot shoe tilted up at 45 degrees with a diffuser. This provides nice soft light to help pop the color and fill in some shadows. The lighting varied from bright sun at high noon to light clouds (haze). Shooting in bushes it's hard to find good backgrounds so I shot mostly wide open to blur them.

This picture represents the exact moment of the musical artists release of emotion while on stage, they spend the hours before a show building nerves and excitement to release at the opportune time, just as the crowd goes wild. Having pushed past security this shot was taken at the Ferntree Gully Hotel September 30th, and what an event it was!

In the performance of the Nutcracker, the Snow Queen is proudly leaping through the air.

I found these crystals growing on a tarp one morning in November 2013. Wellsville, New York.

Flowers galore from a Paris flower shop. They were on a stand outside their doorway. What they can do with flowers is always creative and stunning.

I live in a very old house at the moment. This is a window that, clearly, was once an exterior window. It now looks out from a bedroom closet into a sunroom. The lighting in this little window adds to the isolation of this closet from the outdoors.

I love black and white, and even enjoy black and white pics of flowers. I know some folks think a flower should never be done in BAW, but to me it looks great.

Taken on the 9th of August this year as we travelled up Franschoek pass. Spotted this Yellow Billed Kite (I think) and tracked it until it was in the blue portion of the sky.

If you're hungry enough, is not scared even bigger than yourself

This picture is for me one of the best I took so far, I made this one in Mortsel close to the city where I live.

One of the most memorable nights of my New York trip was spent waiting for the sun to set and light to fade for the shot I had pictured in my head. Temperatures dropped as low as -8°C which made operating the camera very difficult and my waiting family very impatient. ?Got the shot?? was shouted from behind me and after 40 minutes of waiting, with the click of one button I was beyond pleased to turn around and reply, ?Yep, got the shot?.

I took this photo while walking at a local park. There is a bridge crossing a river, and these icicles were wrapping around the metal on the bridge. I thought it to be a great opportunity for an isolation close up shot of nature's art.

This photo was taken with a Fuji Finepix s7000 one stormy afternoon on Lake Macquarie NSW.

It is a private moment with a human and their pet. Pets can be our best friends and we can be alone, but yet never really alone when they are by our side.I took it in Soho, New York City a week ago. I thought it was a peaceful moment.

It is very special image for me. It shows Indian work culture. It also says about a guru (teacher) who hold your hand and teach you about the life.

For myself I hold no preferences among flowers, so long as they are wild, free, spontaneous.

This is my friend Beckers who I took whale watching in Monterey, CA. I was sitting on the ground of the boat and decided to take some pictures and by far this is her favorite. We had a blast in Monterey. 02/16/2014

The monastery is situated 1500 feet above the town of Paro. The site where legend has it that Padmasambhava flew to on a tigress to bring Buddhism to Bhutan.

Visiting Amsterdam and queueing outside Anne Frank's house, it started to snow. This picture shows somewhat symbolises her situation; bleak, still, cold, distant and yet alive still.

This little guy was on my windshield so when I parked decided to see what angle to use and took the shot, turned out cool!

This photo captures the scene of an adventurous night, bivvying out by the glacial lake under the majestic peak of Cerro Torre. The photo was captured on the 1st January 2015 in Patagonia, Argentina, and what a way to celebrate the new year! I think the photo shows an alternative view of travel, sleeping in amazing landscapes under the stars making the most of all 24 hours of the day. A beautiful place is made even more so when seen in a different way.

My young pup loves to race around in the snow. He truly loves life.

I was in a really amazing thunder storm in Santa Fe NM. I shot 150 images to get this one. I would not give up and wanted to get the image.

This beautiful mother Red-shouldered Hawk is resting and protecting her egg. She is in the Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary at Flamingo Gardens in Davie, Florida, unable to fly. However, her baby born grew up and was released in the wild as they do with hundreds of offspring year round. - www.flamingogardens.org

This is an image I will never forget. A beautiful picture from a beautiful country with simple values.

This is one of my favourite photo's I have ever taken of my little sister, Samantha, simply because of the pure emotion in her face during that moment. This photo was taken back in 2010 in Brisbane Australia.

Taken on 35mm Kodak Ektar 100 film in Melbourne, FL at the Eau Gallie Causeway. This was my first experiment in long-exposure night photography. Exposure: 2 minutes at f/16

1. Frankly speaking this picture does not make me special; because i wanted my whole house to come into the Dew drops;but tried level best, & got the above result. 2. I clicked this pic in my garden,early morning; when the dew drops where shining like a pearl on a Spider web. 3.Nature - The Early Morning Fog; made the dew drop glisten on a spider web. THE WONDERS OF NATURE IS EVERYWHERE FOR U !!!

This is Shep, my friend's new 3-month-old rescue puppy. He was intrigued by the sound of the camera shutter!

A spider dining on a fly in the late afternoon sun, taken in my backyard. After I noticed the spider, I observed it and took photos of it for around 15 minutes, trying to catch it at the perfect moment. It was very special to be able to capture this ordinary but beautiful scene in nature. Once I got the image into the computer, I fell in love with the contrast between the cool colors of the left side of the frame and the warm setting sun on the right side.

While in Arimatsu, a town 15 minutes from Nagoya, Japan, I happened to see this fantastic large, red umbrella sheltering a dining table. Lovely!

It shows a hard working man. I made the Picture in 2012 in Germany at Zeche Zollverein (a UNESCO World Heritage).

Awesome.

While on safari in Chobe National Park in Botswana our vehicle was charged by an elephant. I didn't know whether to be exhilarated or terrified. The thrill won out and I got this once in a lifetime shot.

Ferie in UAE, in the desert together with my daughter.

This is my niece, Zoey. She is so full of energy. I never thought I would be interested in doing child portrait photography, but she makes it so easy.

This fly found in the backyard and taken from the frontal position with its tiny feet pressed together suggests deep delight at this nectar bearing flower.

Feeding time. Flowers are not out, so this will have to do for now.
