I am submitting this picture of my faithful companion Buster for National Pet Day. This picture was taken at my house. Buster is so friendly & I have enjoyed having him so much!

This shot was taken at Dalyan, on the south-west coast of Turkey. This lady had just come out of therapeutic mud bath and she wanted me to take her photograph before she jumped into the lake. I took this image with a fast shutter speed to capture her in mid-air. I loved the smile on her face and the way she jumped - It showed that her age was insignificant. For me, she was the hero of the day. This picture is special because it was one of the most funny moments of my life. Picture taken on holiday.

This picture is special because I felt a connection with nature when I saw the peacock flutter around me around the time of shooting. I took this picture in 2012, Sydney.

This picture is so special to me because it captures my nephews personality perfectly. He is full of energy and a huge angel at heart. Obviously he also likes to stuff his gob. This was taken at a spontaneous trip to Sidmouth Beach in the summer holidays.

When I spotted the terns racing along the shoreline fishing, I decided to try some slow shutter speeds (relative to the very fast birds) to get some blurs. I am retired after 50 years in the work force and now spend my time on my small farm in Plant City Florida...enjoying the current home raised chicken craze..

Taken while on a 13 day car trip through France and Italy. We spent three nights in Riquewihr, Alsace, France. By 10am the town was filled with day travelers, filling the streets and wine shops. It was great to experience empty street early and late in the day.

This was just a random shot clicked at Dal lake, Srinagar. This photo had been selected in many of the exhibitions at state level. When i had clicked this i also didn't have any idea this photo will be so good and lucky for me

A special day at the Trinity River...

My daughter-in-law took this photograph of my son holding my grandson & I've been taking and looking at photos for over 40 years now - and it's one of my all time favorite photos - so I submitted it (with her permission...she's too humble to do it herself)... I have to admit that she and my son are both better photographers than I am (which makes me happy)...we all wonder about the little guy's potential for photographic talent - although we all also (sometimes) secretly hope he becomes a lawyer (starving artist isn't as fun as it sounds).

Mt Rainier is in the Pacific Northwest where rainy and gloomy weather happen often. I took this picture on the night before my hike to Camp Muir(Mt Rainier's base camp). The weather was not good as it was very cloudy and foggy. I waited until 2am for the sky to clear up. The night was cold despite being in the middle of summer. Mt Rainier is already majestic by itself and it is truly a sight to behold.

This is a photograph taken in studio of my dearest Twister, my best friend. The day I got out of the hospital after a massive operation, my boyfriend brought me this adorable puppy named Twister. From that day he has never left my side and without him, I wouldnt have recovered as well as I have. This photograph was taken in 2011 in Cape Town. Twister is not only my pet, but my best friend, my bed buddy, my psychologist and my kid <3

This pic is special to me because it was the beginning of a journey. It was on a boat on my way to Naxos, a Greek island. I think it relates to the theme of travel because it has the dark blue like the sea and the sky,the yellow like the sun and the moon the red of the desire to explore. This are always great companions when you travel.You can always relate.

I love flowers a lot and seeing the flowers bloom after a long time of nurturing it makes me happy. I took this in my garden at home during midday. Flowers are part of nature and its beauty. I wish to share the happiness I get from blooming flowers to everyone else who sees this picture.
