KODAK MOMENT of the Day

Our granddaughter was always so scared of Santa. So he was going to ease in from behind her and a catch hit him in his back and he groaned and she turn and Shelia snapped the picture just in time. My all time favorite. Our Santa (very dear friend) passed away a couple of years ago so we cherish the pictures.

My son, Jacob sharing a beautiful moment with this truly compassionate, Santa. Santa is a retired Special Education Teacher, that has the patients of a Saint, with every child. This photo was taken at Alton Square Mall, in Alton, Illinois on December 16, 2013.

This picture was taken on December 11, 2012 while the baby was napping near our Christmas Tree. As I was shooting the picture, it reminded me of a portion of The Night Before Christmas, "as dreams of sugarplums danced in their heads"!

My husband, Jonathan, is in the army and this month we have been stationed in Alaska. It’s the first time we live somewhere with snow and all that the cold brings with it. Being from the island of Puerto Rico this weather and lifestyle is completely different of what we are used to. So we have set our minds to make the best of this experience and learn all we can!

Winter is here and children are having fun sleighing in the snow in our neighborhood. 

Baby's first snow in Portland, OR. We are not used to snow so the whole city shuts down with even the lightest dusting. We took advantage of this and cozied up at home after discovering this fluffy cold white stuff!

Looking back at 2018, this is a moment I will cherish - the first time my newborn daughter opened her eyes and not only looked at me but seemed to know I was her momma. 

Lucy has been in love with snow since her first winter. This moment captures her love for the snow in her smile and her eyes. This photo was taken outside of our home in Royal Oak, Michigan. This photo expresses the feeling of a "winter wonderland" through the eyes of a two year old.

I took this photo as I watched my 7 year old fly down a big hill on a beautiful old sled, left behind in our attic by a previous owner. It was taken in January, after a rather large snowstorm. It was a perfect wintery Kodak moment!

I like the way it reflects the mood that evening on the beach. It was taken on a Santa Barbara, CA beach just below Shoreline Park in January. It definitely is a 'people at play' picture on that memorable evening.

This was taken on New Year's Day 2010 in Philadelphia, PA, while waiting for the train into the city. It was just a simple loving kiss that happened to be captured on camera. My boyfriend and I love this picture because it didn't just capture a kiss but also our love.

In January, while 18 month old Alex napped, Daddy built a snowman. When he awoke, Alex was so excited to put on his coat and go out and play. He was so impressed with the snowman, and after staring at it, he gave it lots of hugs.

I had the privilege of returning to Africa this year to work with the many orphans in the country. This picture was taken in Kenya during July at an orphanage there. The young girl's name is Ann Petrice and she is carrying her baby sister.

Hudson Clark is a 4 month old little guy who loves his dinosaurs! He lights up any room he’s in and brings pure joy to his Mom and Dad! ??

Even though we are getting older it doesn't mean we can't still have fun. This was a shot I took for a challenge called "first person." I took it in January after a lovely big storm here in Athol, Massachusetts -- and it was a fun picture to take.

I like the determined expression that our twelve-year-old son, Jake, had on his face, as he started down the hill on his snowboard! The sport/action setting on my EasyShare is excellent for motion shots like this.

Is it really winter? I caught Beau making the most of the end of the day, enjoying every last minute of the unseasonably warm weather we'd been having. This was shot at sunset, late January, at the local elementary school's playground.

This was taken in after a rare snowfall for North Carolina. This was my children's first real snow experience.

I love this shot of my son while we were on vacation. He often humors me while I take pictures. Evergreen, Colorado. He is my son.

This photo was taken last summer during our 10 day vacation at Winnipeg. It was really nice to see the children together again after 8 years. They became closer and are all looking forward to see each other again.

This was a special shot in natural light taken at Skansen Craft Village outside Stockholm Sweden, 1984. The lighting of the scene was magical and I took it with a Minolta x-700 on Kodachrome 25 with out flash! The work of the potter was awe inspiring as this little child seems to be comletely drawn into his process. The spiritual principal this shot reflects speaks of a Father teaching his children his ways. Very skilled molding is going on here! And as the child face portrays, it is a wonderous thing indeed!

Every night we read a couple of books to Isaac before bed.  I love this time of day we get to snuggle him! 

What you see is my wife flying a kite. This photo has enormous value for me because it resembles the true spirit of my loved ones, colorful and bright soul. I took this photo at the mountain nearby Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, at very high altitude. Both of us enjoyed the photos but were thrilled about this particular one.

This picture is very special to me because it was taken right before my nephew Thomas was sent out to Iraq for the second time. It was taken last Fall for he and his wife's engagement pictures.

Connections between people is the reason I love to take pictures! I love the connection of this couple, and the shadow and light sets the mood.

My son got a puppy for valentines day.. he cried as he opened the huge box that the puppy jumped out of.

This picture was taken on the beaches of Florida, with REAL FILM, not a digital camera!  It was a spontaneous shot caught by my mom, Juanita Zachary!  You can tell by the way he is looking at me how adoring he is of of me and I am in the most complete state of joy!  This is the phase in our lives we were in as well, I was just about to move to Nashville to be with him, and we were both in this constant state of splendor, we were walking on air!  To have that captured on film is so amazing to us!!!!

These are my two youngest grandsons ages 14 & 16 months old. They were having fun playing my piano a couple of weeks ago. I especially like the way the diaper is showing.

Emalee Powers, age 2, was totally unimpressed by a Columbus, Ohio snowstorm.  Maybe that's why she enjoys living in Florida now as an 11 year old.

My daughter Kyra (pictured) was the "idea person" and editor of this shot. Kodak.com has featured my photos of her since she was a little girl, but now she's a senior and the creative spark behind many of our shots.
