This photo is one of my favorites because I turned an ugly construction site into a surreal landscape. The stones are actually chips of granite that looked silver in the camera. 5 inches outside the frame, there was construction tape and bulldozers, but the image itself looks so peaceful. I had been trying to capture lightning on my camera for months at home in Columbus, OH and always without success. On a family trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, we stayed in a cottage on a lake; during a major storm one night I went out with my camera to try and capture the lightning and had several successful pictures.
