Every month I receive Runner's World magazine, and the first page I flip to is that month's "Rave Run" where they feature a beautiful place to run. The most recent month featured the Channel Islands National Park, about 20 miles off shore of Ventura, California. It has always been my dream to do a "Rave Run," so my boyfriend decided to plan a day trip to the island so I could cross that goal off my list. The beautiful February day provided a beautiful backdrop for our very own "rave run." We went for our run and he went a few steps ahead to capture the happiness that I felt as I lived out a dream. We were in the conference playoffs in Mississippi. It rained cats and dogs, but we kept playing. It was the last game of my son's entire life and he was stressed and sad.
