It was a beautiful day for football - one last day in the sun before the winter weather sits in. Even though little league football photos are suppose to be all about the action - the hard hits, the big blocks, the difficult catch, the evading running back - this has to be one of my favorites photos. After they put on their helmets, sometimes we forget that they are just children. This photo reminds me that they are still children - children who want to play because they truly love to play. While experimenting with various techniques that I wanted to include in my daughter's recital program, I tried using glow sticks attached to my niece's arms, legs, waist and head to create this image. During the holidays I decided to go out to a local park to take some pictures of the winter nature. I looked for that special shot of some snow, trees, maybe a little frozen creek - when I came across this fire hydrant - perfectly positioned in the middle of an open field in the colors appropriate for the holidays.
