I never understood why when the Groundhog sees it's shadow it means 6 more weeks of winter - I thought it is a harbinger of spring if the sun is shining. Oh well. For this shot, I cut a hole in my foamboard, and rested it on 2 chairs. Tripod mounted, manual focused camera on a 10 second timer let me get into position. I took many shots - it was hard to get details correct. My eyes would look wierd or my fingers wouldn't be positioned nicely or something else would be wrong. To me, this photograph conveys freedom. Fear lost; the attempt at, and short lived duration of, flight; the extension of the woman's form as if she is an extension of the cliff, as if an extension of, and intertwined with, nature.
