I was photographing in Santa Fe NM for my class. It was the end of the day and an amazing lighting storm came up. I thought it was a unique opportunity to capture the lighting. I shot over a 100 images to get this one. Timing is everything. This is a straight shot without the use of multiple exposures. It feels honest to me. I photographed it in August 2014. I put it in Artistic and creative because I feel like I made the photo with the help of nature but because I know my equipment I was able to make the image. I shot this photo on the grounds of a camera club friend's summer cottage on Georgian Bay, ON. It was on a camera club weekend outing and the owner of the cottage had invited the whole group to hold our sunset shoot at his and his wife's cottage. This was taken in my back garden, while I was making the most of the brief British summer sun. This little bee was flying from flower to flower, me following closely behind, but he kept hiding and diving into the centre of the flowers. The image captures two types of prayer wheels, each containing the words "Om Mani Padme Hum".  It is said that anyone who recites the six syllables while turning the dharma wheel at the same time is equal in fortune to the Thousand Buddhas. While soliciting for some divine help, this old Ladakhi lady was eager to pose for a photograph in exchange for some money. In the cold high altitudes of Ladakh, this could perhaps have been her only source of survival in reality. I have taken this photograph in May 2013 in Lamayuru Monastery, Ladakh, India.
